    So, reading here, I find that we'll have a Task Sequence as a deployment type option - this, in theory, may help others here who need to install multiple apps in sequence (Task Sequence), but the app model isn't working for them.

    Seems you can use a Task Sequence as a deployment type in the application model coming soon. This should solve the issue in a workaround-able way:

    Shocked this is still an issue - just now coming to this need and the packaging team is asking to use task sequences. I would like to keep this in the app model and let the apps take care of the restarts. Please help this out!
