This is available as the application groups feature in the 1905 technical preview. We’d love it if you installed it and gave us your feedback.

Another use case: With the need for speedy OSD, this type of function could make it easier to get the OS down but still have a quality user experience in the end. Install role based apps in a group. Allow the ability to install all or check just ones they need. Deploy to users so you aren't system specific. Another nice to have would be to have an install order when creating groups.

Our 1905 Technical Preview is now released.
This release has the first round of changes in the App model to allow a Task sequence as a deployment type allowing task sequences to be deployed to users/user groups.

Is there any update on this? It would be great to do application groupings to specific user teams. We're already provisioning app access using groups, would love to leverage it for app installs as well.
