Hi Bob,
We are using 1610. Has there been improvements? - We changed our process to only have them visible to pxe/boot media before 1610.

As the comment notes – task sequences can be deployed hidden and launched with the Deployment ID or similar.

You should limit the test task sequences to test machines. There are ways to hide task sequences and use preboot scripts

Use the log viewer from System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Support Center. The toolkit should be updated to use it.

Alternatively overhaul the driver step -
Add Applicable rules to each driver package
1. Hardware model
2. PNP ID
3. TSVariable
Then Driver Pack OS preference order if multiple driver packs match
