  1. Verify Component Status

I often repeat the following actions:

    - Verify Component Status (Monitoring - System Status - Component Status)
    - Open any Component with Status Warning or Error.
    - Verify the Warning or Error is Solved
    - Reset All Counts for this Component.

A Typical example: Restart the Site Server.
All Management Points complain that the Site Server is unavailable.
But in they also report the System is Online again.

MP File Dispatch Manager running on the management point "mp.company.com" cannot connect to site server "SiteServer.company.com". The operating system reported error 53: The network path was not found.

  2. In the Edit Membership wizard please add the ability to search for available Software Update Groups

In the Edit Membership wizard, add the ability to search for available Software Update Groups. In an environment with many SUGs it is not easy to scroll and find the SUG you're looking for.

  3. software center - options section

Being able to configure the Software Center options section settings in the client settings. Example being able to specify business hours from the GUI instead of having to create CI/Baseline with PowerShell scripts....

  6. Don't display SCEP Malware Alerts in every User Session

If you're using the SCEP Client on a RDS Server and Malware has been found, every User on this Server gets a Notification from SCEP.

This really confuses many users and increases Service-Desk Calls, if you have Servers with for example more then 20 User Sessions.

Because of this, we currently have no other choice then to hide the User Interface.

It would be great if the Notification are only shown in the Session of the User, which triggered the Alert.

  7. Category icons - Turn software center into an App Store

Software Center now already has beautiful large icons. But it's still rather primitive. If you want to browse software by category right now you have to use the filter.

It would be great if you have the option of displaying categories and even featured apps on the main software centre page, much like what you would see in Apple's app store or Google Play store.

It would improve the experience for users immensely.

  8. Bypass "Press Enter" Prompt on Available TS Deployments with CM WDS UEFI PXE Boot

When you deploy an OSD TS as Available, you are prompted to "Press ENTER for network boot service." If you do not press enter it instead boots to the OS (if any). This does not occur when using a required deployment. It would be useful to bypass this for available deployments.

This behavior is documented by Microsoft.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/osd/deploy-use/use-pxe-to-deploy-windows-over-the-network#BKMK_Deploy

There is a previous UV that mentions this from 2017, but it was declined. The reasoning does not pan out for me, though. It does not appear to be a hardware issue as it occurs on both physical and virtual workstations. Itā€¦

  9. SCEP Marketing and Comparisons to Competition

SCEP Marketing and Comparisons to Competition. For years I've been trying to get my account team to help us sell our security teams on the idea of switching to SCEP. To do that, we need material to help us market SCEP as a viable solution. We need to be able to compare features from our current vendor to SCEP. We need an objective look at what we gain versus what we give up if we move from our current solution. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem any of this exists.

  10. Create an installable package of updates from an ADR.

For some scenarios it would be helpful to preview an ADR, then make an executable that could be installed as part of a task sequence. Offline media, for example.
    thanks heaps,

  11. Run Powershell Script (Task Sequence Step) passed parameters not visible in logging

When parameters are provided on a 'Run Powershell Script' in a task sequence, the SMSTS.log only logs the name of the script. It does not log the full command (including parameters) that are invoked.

For example: if I call Java.ps1 with parameters -level 1 -language eng the SMSTS.log only shows...

Running powershell script: 'Java.ps1'(PkgID: SCM00000) with execution policy 'Bypass'

This would be helpful in troubleshooting what parameters were actually passed to the script that is executing. Otherwise you have to track down the task sequence and assume everything entered is passed and run. Or you have to build your PS1ā€¦

  12. Let the TSAgent consume enough RAM in VMs configured with Dynamic Memory for OSD compatibility checks to succeed

Setup: Hyper-V Gen2 VM configured with 1GB startup RAM, Min 512MB, Max 4GB.

I was testing servicing Windows 10 1511 to Windows 10 1607 on my VM and the compatibility check failed because the VM was only consuming 1560MB at the time of the compatibility check. I'd think that it would be able to tell if the VM's maximum RAM value was higher than the minimum RAM requirement for Windows 10.

  13. The ability to run a configuration baseline on a collection that has the baseline applied to a parent collection.

Currently we have certain Baselines that are applied to our master collection of all computers in the organization. However, when we replace a lab we should be able to run that baseline without having to run it against the master collection.

  14. Be able to trigger a CMPivot query from a SSRS and have the results show both Current and history values.

Be able to trigger a CMPivot query from a SSRS and have the results show both Current and history values.

This would leverage the refresh option within SSRS to update the results.

  15. Persist console backward and forward data with Recent Searches

Usually we search for objects and navigate away to a different node. we can use the backward button to comeback to that node but not to the searched items. We can use the Recent Searches to search for the same items. However it would be better if we can integrate the recent searches as well with the backward and forward buttons.

  16. Make ConfigMgr work with Autopilot and Enrollment Status Page (ESP)

When deploying a device using Autopilot, the Enrollment Status Page (ESP) is used to prevent access to the desktop until the device provisioning tasks are complete. But ConfigMgr doesn't integrate with the ESP, so there's no way to wait for packages, apps, or task sequences - the user doesn't know when the process is done. Add that integration.

  18. Wildcards can not be used when configuring Excluded Processes in Exclusion Settings in the anti-malware policy

Wildcards can not be used when configuring Excluded Processes in Exclusion Settings in the anti-malware policy.
Since it is judged as an invalid character string, please add a function so that it can be used.

With Windows Defender alone, you can use wildcards for process exclusion.

Use wildcards in the process exclusion list
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/windows-defender-antivirus/configure-process-opened-file-exclusions-windows-defender-antivirus#use-wildcards-in-the-process-exclusion-list

  19. Automatically Open Firewall Ports on Server Install

Installation of SCCM and roles on site servers should enable any needed firewall ports. Recently had some SQL issues when migrating to a new SQL server that turned out to be related to the broker service port not being open. Application installs should open these ports automatically not force us to have to hunt down in obscure documentation what ports to open.
