  2. SCCM Device Collection Query Rule Check

When creating or modifying a device collection using a query rule can SCCM include an option to provide an output of the results before applying. Maybe it could open in Monitoring > Queries to show the results and then once verified the Apply button can be clicked. This could prevent a mis-configured query resulting in deployments to devices that were added inadvertently. It could also reduce a step from having to create an actual query and then importing that query.

  3. Add LastBootupTime to "Software updates - Compliance by computer" report

The "Software updates - Compliance by computer" sub-report is an easy way to see which computers have failed updates.

Updates often are in a "failed" state because the computer hasn't been restarted recently.

Therefore, adding the last time the computer restarted to the report would make it easy to quickly identify if that is the likely cause of failing updates.

(Additionally, adding "primary user" to the report would be appreciated.)

  4. Add option to Compliance Baselines to decide what happens when a device falls out of scope of the Baseline

With the idea of using Baselines to replace Group Policy when possible, Baselines/CIs should have an option of what step(s) to perform when a device/user is no longer in scope of the settings.

When a Group Policy is applied, most will remove their settings (usually a "Policies" reg key), that will restore the unmodified settings to what they were previously.

With Baselines/CIs, it is possible to modify the "Policies" key/value, but when an object falls out of scope of the Baseline, it is not possible to remove that change to restore the original setting.

Baselines/CIs should have an option to…

  5. Asset Intelligence - inventoried Software Enhancment

Im trying to use the report "License 15A – Third Party Software Reconciliation Report" to get lisence information and counts but there one issue I'm Facing . generating a report is mainly depending on the Product Name (PN). so i have to provide the same PN on the Excel Sheet for it to count. sometimes the PN contain Different version number or the architecture of the application which will make it the counting inaccurate since I have to add all the PN with version number in the excel sheet. it would be better to be able to compine these under…

  6. Prevent Admins from using old Admin console versions

Prevent Admins from using old SCCM Admin Console versions. Also, we should have a trigger in place to kick admins out of the SCCM Admin console.

  7. User Device Affinity: Temporary Assignments

We manage our systems using only usage based UDA. User defined and admin defined were not being updated regularly enough and our data got stale quickly.

We have since change to usage only UDA. Our challenge here is new devices or loaner devices do not have the applications available to the users until they meet the usage threshold.

A work-around that we have done is create a PS script to force a usage based UDA releationship between the user and the device. We assigned it to only our support staff, so users can't go installing apps on neighboring devices. This…

  8. Firmware (UEFI/BIOS) Monitoring & Updates

Add the ability to query device model manufacturers for all drivers and specifically BIOS/UEFI versions. To then be deliverable as updates.

  9. Disable "Configure Automatic Updates" when enabling software updates on clients

When enabling software updates for clients in client settings, a local policy configures the “intranet service update location”. It would make sense to also disable the “Configure automatic updates policy” under Computer Configuration -> policies-> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components-> Windows Update in the same local policy. This would prevent duplicate notifications from the Windows update service and prevent admins installing updates from Windows Update when a SUP is configured

  10. Would like for a Configuration Manager Console package to be created automatically on site upgrade

Would like for a Configuration Manager Console package to be created automatically on site upgrade as is done with the Configuration Manager Client package. The use case is for deploying the admin console to new operators. Instead of having to manually create an admin console package and update it after each site upgrade, SCCM could automatically create and update this package.

  11. Application deployment troubleshooting failures - dashboard

A Dashboard to see which devices had a particular application fail to deploy. The Dashboard lists the devices. Next to devices there would be a column with a possible reason why the application failed to deploy and possible solutions to fix the problem.

  12. Use Office 365 groups for Email Notifications in ConfigMgr

More and more customers move their Exchange infrastructure to the cloud leaving nothing behind. All their productice and collaborative Solutions' exist in the cloud in the form of Office 365. Now most of these customers still have ConfigMgr. It makes sense to have the ability to utilize Teams and Office 365 groups for Email Notifications in ConfigMgr. Especially with the ability to have email approvals for app deployment in TP 1807.

  13. Automatic Client Upgrade: Allow option to ignore maintenance windows

It is great that client upgrades now respect maintenance windows per the "Automatic Client upgrades - respect defined maintenance windows" feedback. However, we now are dealing with the opposite issue.

We have very narrow maintenance windows defined for our servers and as such 75% of our clients were out of date 2 months post upgrade. It would be great for a toggle on the upgrade configuration so we can choose the behavior for the upgrade to respect the windows or not, similar to a normal application deployment. This way we would not need to manually push the client upgrade out…

  14. Get Rid of the Prompt about Zero Members in a Collection

Remove the pop up about no members in a collection whenever creating a collection or editing a collection, or deploying a package to an empty collection.

  15. Add the Option to rerun a deployed Task Sequence on specific Clients in a Device-Collection

Add the Option to rerun the deployed Task Sequence of a Device-Collection. Also it would be good to have the Option to rerun a deployed Task at the Monitoring-Tab in the failed-Tab.

  16. More granular monthly maintenance windows

Monthly maintenance windows currently can be defined as a day of week occurrence relative to the first day of the month e.g. Second Thursday. However our business would like to define these windows in a different way relative to a specific day of week occurrence. This can be described in two different wordings that give the same result.
Assume two maintenace windows occurring on September 27 2019 and October 4 2019, they can be described as:
    - Friday after the 4th Tuesday & Friday after the 5th Tuesday.
    OR
    - 1st Friday after 4th Tuesday & 2nd Friday after 4th…

  17. Implementing a return code to reboot with fast retry

When an application is checking for pending reboot there is no way to create a reboot with fast retry. In my scripts, I am just doing a fast retry but if the user is out of the office the script may loop for a long time. If the session is logout why not rebooting with fast retry?

  18. When a new SCOM management pack will be available for the latest release of SCCM?

Currently a very old version of SCOM management pack is available to monitor the SCCM infrastructure. When MS will release a completely new MP to could properly monitor all type of servers in a complex environment?

    Thanks!

  19. Provide the capability to create an application deployment template

Similar to how we can assign a deployment template to patches, If we could create an Application deployment template, so that when we have multiple applications that we need to test over several different test groups, we can simply assign a template, and the template will automatically assign the rest of the settings. This would significantly speed up deployment processes, and simplify things, and help prevent mistakes.

  20. Ability to override power button when Remote Control session active

Remote Control allows the person in control to "Lock Remote Keyboard and Mouse". Also need to have an option to "Lock Remote Keyboard, Mouse, Power" button so that the machine can not be turned off during a Remote Control session. Younger kids in K-12 often do this to kick technology personnel out so they can use the computer, even if it's under repair.
