  2. Align windows 10 upgrade experience between consumer and enterprise

To support Windows 10 version upgrade, home users get one experience with nice looking popup and capabailities to postpone or define when to install. Enterprise user get an old school popup with only the option to run or cancel! User experience need to be aligned for the exact same action.

  3. Make the SCCM hybrid diagnostic tool scriptable

This is a great tool, but it would be useful if it was able to accept command line parameters so that for situations where the IT person that is managing mobile devices might not necessarily have access to run the tool locally on the site server that hosts the service connection point role or Microsoft Intune connector role. If the tool has able to accept command line parameters, that would also allow me to leverage SCORCH to run the tool with appropriate switches and send the output to someone as a CSV or other format with the results.

  4. FileReplication using Cloud DP

MPLS/ P2P lines usually have less bandwidth then WAN lines.
it will be great benefit to add option for Primary site/ CAS to update Cloud DP, and configure other DP to pull the data from the Cloud DP instead of replication over MPLS lines.

  5. Show settings changed from default in bold

As it does in the IIS and SQL management consoles, show any configuration settings that are changed from default in bold text.
Perhaps also show the default value as a hover-over popup.

  7. Prevent canceling of installation in progress by PC restart.

In application model, if we install application to pc via SoftwareCenter then user can restart in any moment during the application installation.

User can not restart if the SCCM application is doing MSI installation, that is ok.

But if it is legacy setup.exe or just a script installation (powershell, dos-batch) of an SCCM application then user is not prevented to do a restart. So he is allowed to restart PC while the installation is in progress.

It is essential to have a setting wich prevent whole computer to be restarted till the application installation is finished. Maybe simmilar way howā€¦

  8. Prioritize < mb/gb Content to distribute

When I commission a new DP I send content from the PS where I can't use pull from a nearer DP. This includes many apps and OS images, updates etc. Many apps are easily less that 50 mb (75% of the content) and update packages and OS images are much larger (25%). I know I can prioritise the distribution for each app but often the requirement is for these small apps first so we can make use of our service. Sites tend to test OSD over a longer period and we set Update to go to MS if unavailable.

  9. Deployment Type with version when auto creating DT

There are multiple places where a reference to an application is only with GUID and DT name. E.g. logs.
If the DT name had version number in the name, it would easy to see what application is referenced when you have more than one version of a product and thereby more applications.

When creating an application for a Windows Installer, it would be great to have the automatic DT creation process to include the version, if provided, in the DT name.

In addition, if the creation of a script installer DT could include the names and versions from the applicationā€¦

  10. Have templates for Windows Server Roles that Site Systems use when deploying

When installing site systems like SUP I want to have specified an template for how Windows Server should be configured like IIS, WSUS Application Pool etc. in addition to installing the WinSrv Roles. This can bed slightly different from customer to customer and would make it easier for them to deploy new Site Systems with a consistency. Stability would go up and troubleshooting would be easier. Thinking about all Site System roles, not only SUP.

  11. When upgrading, test for high CPU usage on SQL

Ran into an issue when upgrading from v1606 to v1610 that the SQL failed to run due to high CPU usage (SQL was being ran on a separate box). Was not noticed until after the upgrade had already started. Maybe one of the pre-req checks for upgrading to SCCM is to look at the average CPU usage by SQL to see if that host will complete the upgrade in a timely manner and reduce the risk of failing.

  12. AD computer object description

Setting the AD computer object description should be allowed inside a task sequence during the domain join operation.
Whether or not this is on the dialog box, is not important to me. I'd be happy setting a TS variable (ie. OSDComputerObjectDescription)

Alternatively, we could use a PowerShell script using different credentials (which Task Sequences also do not allow). Similar to the way
the "Run Command Line" allows the input of credentials.

Right now we have to use a kludgy "Run Command Line" using credentials and run
a batch file that calls something like: PowerShell.exe -executionpolicy Bypass -command pscommandhere
    or: PowerShell.exeā€¦

  13. Behaviour when deleting a deployment

When deleting a deployment from the packages pane, we seem to be bounced to the deployment monitoring page.

This makes no sense to me, especially when 9 times out of 10 I'm just going to head back to the package to re-create a deployment.

  14. Add 'are you sure' logic to buttons in the ribbon

Would be great to have a prompt for certain buttons in the ribbon to verify you clicked the correct button. Many, many times I want to click 'refresh' on a collection only to accidentally click 'copy'. Not a huge issue, but an annoyance where I have to them delete the unwanted collection.

  15. Allow a task sequence to be re-run if failed

Provide the ability to re-run a task sequence when it's fail. The idea is to use TS variable or database to store different information about the failure (TS name, TS stpe, computer name, MAC address) where the error occured and then when the task sequence is restarted, it could ask if we want to restart from the failure step or from the begining.

  16. Approval process on DCM - Configuration Items

As it is with the Scripting Node, there are some that may utilize the feature that Scripts need to be Approved; would like to see a mechanism on DCM on the Configuration Item that requires review/approval before it can be attached and deployed in a baseline. The goal is to keep operators from skirting the scripting approval process by using a DCM Object to perform the actions they want to execute that they could not do via Scripting due to lack of approval.

  17. compliance badge for client

When a user wants to know if their PC is 'compliant' then the Software Center 'compliance' tab confusingly doesn't relate to their actual compliance with software updates, its for an unused conditional access feature (or am I wrong and the only one confused by this.) users go to the compliance tab and think they are up to date. how can users know if they are patch 'compliant/?

  18. DCR: Provide Application content identifiers in the task sequence environment.

This will allow Alternate Content Providers to perform pre-flight content availability checks and download content not cached locally before the content is required. At the moment. smsappinstall.exe only obtains the content identifier when executed using the ScopeId_...

  19. Issues after upgrading to 1706

Iā€™ve updates to 1706 in my lab. There are a few things that they donā€™t work appropriate way.
    1) Log compmon.log said that ā€œCan not get the current execution state for component CONFIGURATION_MANAGER_UPDATE since it is not installed or completed installing.ā€. That is not true. The update process is finished. The console said all tasks were completed.
    2) Configuration Manager Service Manager does not communicate with most of components. I have no idea why because they work

  20. Reporting for File Replication (under Hierarchy Configuration)

It would be nice to have File Replication reporting for large sites. This way you can see all of Site to Site connection information and policies. Thus avoiding having to open and check each one for Rate Limits and Schedules. Maybe also tie in the Rate Limits from the DPs.
