  1. Software Updates - more granular.

WSUS could be a lot more granular, but maybe that can be fixed when using SCCM? For example, there are many versions of Windows 10, now, and we only use a few. Separating x86 and x64 too, would allow our Automatic Deployment Rules to avoid picking up updates that don't apply.
    Thanks heaps.

  2. Make Security Scopes on Folders Recursive

I love the new Security Scopes on Folders feature but SCCM admins have to change the scope any time users create folders or collections in their own. I'd love to give users control over their own areas in the console.

  3. DB gets into single user mode

Where certain database settings got changed on ConfigMgr database.
We should have a bug to have a prereq check to give error that ConfigMgr admin to validate the database settings before upgrade.

    Noted  ·  sangeev responded

    Thanks for the feedback

What’s happening here is the policies are not visible across different sites. So, if a client is already assigned to site A, the Management Point/Distribution Point on site B won’t be able to access those policies and boot the client.

The guidance is to delete the record – same as what you’ve been using

We filed a documentation update to add the same information to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt627940.aspx

  5. Software Center - Group By Installed / Not Installed

This would make is much easier to see what has and hasn't been installed on a device without having to open it up!

  6. Add Richer Configuration Settings for Pull DPs into the console

Currently when you wish to adjust Pull DP settings you need to do this through Webmtest, Powershell or VB script. Example adjusting the retry times or retry interval.

It would be nice to take the most commonly used settings that are adjusted from review of the ConfigMgr cases and place those settings into the ConfigMgr console to make the Pull DPs more robust, manageable and a richer experience.

  7. Optimize the Software Updates overview

I believe that it would create a better overview of your Software Updates in your SCCM-environment if you had them all gathered in 1 node. Instead of having it like today where you can deploy a Office365 Update without it being part of a SUG and the same with Windows 10 Servicing-updates. They should be integrated into the Software Update Groups-node in some way. Either so that it shows the deployed updates from O365 and Servicing or making it so that you need to add them to a SUG before deploying them. As of now you need to browse 3…

  9. Add description as an item in the "Servers and site system Roles" window it's nor currently available to add to the view

the Description field is not available to Add to the view in the Servers and site system Roles window.
Our site servers have Numbers as names so to ease identification if we could add the description field to the view window we could put in a more obvious name.

  10. Option to Create Client Share for CCMLogs

Add an option to create a hidden share (\ComputerName\CCMLogs$) on Client Computers that allows certain users access to view CCMLogs without having to re-authenticate with an Admin Account. Or re-enter Credentials in Support Center each time.

Permissions to the share could be controlled in the same way as Remote Control Users.

  11. Operating System Deployment and Power Management - temporarily disable automatic sleep for large content download

A nice feature would be an integrated solution to allow a computer to remain awake during large content download. We currently have the ability to WOL for deployments, but in a some situations where content is not pre-staged/downloaded or if you use the option to download all content locally before running a task sequence the computer can sleep during content download. A use case is for this example is Windows 10 in-place upgrade TskSeq. Please implement a Power Availability Request based on process or thread to resolve this issue. The alternative of managing custom power plans or hacking a toggle…

  12. Please provide alert when the offline source for the ServiceConnectionTool has been updated

Please provide an alert or alternative method for when the ServiceConnectionTool offline content has been updated for the latest CB release.
This would be useful in an environment where the SCCM Site server has internet access - a new column could be added to display the offline content status if it is available or not. Currently there is no status for the offline content download; I have been trying to download the offline content for my offline airgapped environments and it is only downloading the 1810 update. Or, if there is another way to alert admins that the content is…

  13. Trigger install of advertised software when adding to device collection

It would be great when adding a single or multiple PC's to a device collection, that there could be an additional option under add Selected items: "add selected items to existing device collection and trigger machine policy and application deployment action." Maybe you could make it less wordy... but it would make some of our lives even more streamlined! Love RCT, but this could eliminate an extra step. Aint no body got time to wait for client policies :) Thanks!

  14. Ccmcache automatically deletes application install cache on detection of successful install

Update the application installers so that we can opt to delete the install from ccmcache when it has been successfully installed.

  15. Make it easier to get Hardware and Software Inventory

It should be much easier for getting inventory of hardware and software. There are so many good inventory tools out there and SCCM just fail on that part.

  17. How to update your installation media after update through 'Updates and Servicing'

After I ran all the updates from 'Updates and Servicing', I am unable to do site maintenance from the original installation source.

Because of this I am unable to update from an evaluation version to the licensed version according to my SA.

How to update the installation sources to overcome this problem?

  18. Decouple Site System Installation from Distribution Manager & Site Component Manager

I think the installation/uninstallation, monitoring, & availability of site system roles / components should be handed off to a "Site System Installation Manager" component. This would free up the Distribution Manager & Site Component Manager from handling similar duties and allow Distribution Manager to be more content-centric rather than handling the installation of DPs through it as well. This could also potentially allow a role or site system to be flagged as in maintenance, not ready, etc., so content or data wasn't distributed or communicated to that component.

  19. Clearer Title Descriptions Needed For "All Windows 10 Updates"

Since Microsoft is changing the way it names its updates (again), being able to determine what’s Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted) or Semi-Annual Channel will help admins be able to deploy these updates in a Servicing Plan a little more clearly. When 1703 CB was superseded and 1703 CBB became available, they both listed with the same title under “All Windows 10 Updates”. This also affected the way filtering was configured, so the conditions I used on a previously existing Servicing Plan no longer previewed any feature updates.

  20. Program modernization

It would be nice if programs were modernized to have some of the same features as applications. This would include being able to launch a PowerShell script without extra parameters, sharing the same requirements tab and categories section, being able to use a custom icon in Software Center, and having Windows Source Management. Maybe it would be easier to just allow applications that don't use detection methods? They obviously wouldn't be able to be used as dependencies or have supersedence. Other than that I think it could work.
