  1. Enable DA without the need of SCCM

The pro of Windows Analytics was that you can configure it in every environment without the need to have SCCM or Intune configured.
Please re enable this way of deployment, also if it's limited to Read-only insights or some features.

  2. Detailed Windows crash data in Desktop Analytics

Device Health in Windows Analytics has lots of useful information about Windows crashes, such as what caused the blue screen, the driver version, and other information. This information can be used to develop proactive improvement plans to improve the general reliability of our desktop environment and end user devices.

Could you please add this functionality to Desktop Analytics? It would complement the existing information being reported for O365 reliability, although this is currently somewhat hidden by the M365 UI.

  3. Export lists to Excel/CSV from Desktop Analytics Portal

Will be great if it could be possible to export data from DA Portal, either after setting up a filter or all data (up to an acceptable raws limit), in order to share lists of apps, devices or drivers with people to review or action on them, regardless of those people not being DA contributors themselves.

  4. RBAC for Desktop Analytics

    1. As of the role in Azure is desktop analytics administrator, which allow complete access to this blade, any plan for a read only role ? or read only is possible with any other role, considering there is only 3 roles in azure for devices ?

    2. Can we have more granular role based access model in here with RBAC ?

  5. Include Login Health in Desktop Analytics

The Login Health component of the existing Windows Analytics offering is a useful way to identify patterns and issues in how people log into their devices. It is especially valuable when planning the deployment of Windows Hello for Business, or targeting training and deskside support resourcing.

Could you please add this functionality to Desktop Analytics?

  6. Custom queries on desktop analytics

The ability to run custom queries and extract raw data is key for our ability to provide reports; if I have understood correctly this will be unavailable on Desktop Analytics. The advanced analytics option is paramount to our ability to provide reports, would it be possible to keep this option in Desktop Analytics?

  7. Custom Readiness Rules

Low install count is a great start, but we'd like see automation for the current extremely manual process of Importance by including additional rules such as:
    - Adoption Status: Highly Adopted AND Compatibility Risk: Low= Automatically set importance to Not Important

These metrics are great, but they really need to be available for custom readiness rules. Large enterprises such as ours cannot currently utilise this service due to the sheer amount of manual process. We can't keep up with the new application versions coming in daily and then wait for the subsequent data crunching, only to be greeted with moreā€¦

  8. Include Inplace upgrade statistics in Desktop Analytics

I'd like the setupact.log info broken down giving us info about each stage of the upgrade process. How long did each stage take, how many profiles / files migrated and help us determine why some upgrades are fast and some take hours and hours.

Phase 1 (downlevel) took 34 minutes
Phase 2 (safeos) took 24 minutes
Phase 3 (first boot) took 7 minutes
Phase 4 (second boot) took 5 minutes

Maybe list problematic files or directories that slowed down migration.

I'd love setupdiag to generate this info on prem as well. But longer term, seeing trends in DA about upgrading,ā€¦

  9. Location information in Desktop Analytics

The information in the three Windows Analytics solutions (Update Readiness, Device Health, Compatibility Assessment) can be combined to accurately identify the location of enrolled devices. This information can be used as an input to triage problems (is an issue limited to a network, site, region, or global?), preempt performance and capacity concerns (is there a trend in devices in a particular location?), and manage security (are devices where we expect them to be?).

This information does not yet appear to be in Desktop Analytics. Could you please add this information?

  10. Expand Scope to include server devices

Large companies need the pilot group identification functionality for users whose primary or secondary access is on the server OS.

  11. Group Application Versions together to Inherit Classifications

A lot of time is spent classifying applications, with each version of an application showing up as a separate entry. It would be useful to group the applications at a top level (for instance all installs of Adobe Reader) which could be expanded to see each installed version. We should be able to classify the application as a whole as well as individual versions.

  12. Ability to determine affected devices by problematic apps or drivers

The ability to determine affected devices by problematic apps or driver helps situations like figuring out ways to rollout app/driver update, or track down an app or driver that shows up as an unrecognizable asset in Desktop Analytics.

  13. Drill down into the high-level data (Desktop Analytics)

Most of the high-level reports around feature and security updates are useful, but don't let you find out the specific computers that are nearing end-of-service. I know this can be done in SCCM with queries and collections, but it feels like I should be able to get this information from Desktop Analytics without filtering on the device assets considering the analysis has already been performed.

  15. Run Desktop Analytics queries from MEMCM console (DAPivot)

You can run your own custom Desktop Analytics queries from Log Analytics portal.

It would be easier for MEMCM admins if you could create/run the same queries directory from MEMCM console under Software -> Desktop Analytics.

This new DAPivot feature could utilize CMPivot's UI ie. you could:
    - save your favorite queries
    - save the result set as collection (if showing computer names is allowed in telemetry settings)
    - export

Thus, the admins don't need to utilize a different web console for getting additional info from Desktop Analytics.

  16. Customizable Desktop Analytics security updates Adaption Goal

By default, Desktop Analytics has 95% security updates Adaption Goal one week after Patch Tuesday. Very few customers can achieve that.
Much better default would be 95% compliance from active clients (= client who have reported telemetry since the last Patch Tuesday) after 2 weeks.

Because customers have very different adaption goals, each customer should be able to change
    a) Percentage value
    b) # of days after Patch Tuesday when the compliance percentage should be achieved

  17. Add Device Health to Desktop Analytics

Add Driver health and Frequently crashing devices or driver-induced crashes to Desktop Analytics, this information can be used to develop proactive plan to update devices drivers.

  18. Smarter Application Compatability Logic

A lot of time using this product is spent on marking applications and drivers as compatible. It would be nice to have some of this automated. For instance if something is an appx loaded in through the store (especially if it is part of the OS install in the WIM) it should automatically be flagged as approved since it is updated or replaced during upgrade (i.e. photos app).
I would also like to be able to take a balance of the highly adopted/support statement be able to directly be taken into account when I get my to-do list of thingsā€¦

  20. App Versions Details; Change behavior of slider switch

Under a Deployment plan, in the Identify importance section, The 'App versions details' slider switch, currently seems to hide non-standard versions from being visible. Editing with this option off, does not address all discovered 'Noteworthy Apps'.

I believe this switch should instead group all versions together, and apply the same actions to all versions found, then you can slid the switch on, and change an individual version if needed. instead of just skipping applying any settings to the hidden items, which is the current behavior.
