  1. Add ability to set a time for when Client Settings are deployed

The ability to set a time (similar to a deadline on a software deployment) in which a deployed custom client settings would become enabled would be a wonderful feature. Consider a scenario in which a custom client setting is created with the following settings:

    State Messages every 5 minutes
Computer Restart: amount of time after deadline to restart = 2 minutes
If I have a deployment with a deadline of 10pm, deploying this custom client setting to a collection at 3pm would not be very wise. But, if the ability to deploy the client settings with a configurable "take effect…

  2. sccm client icon must always visible in system tray, so that users can see that updates are available to install

Because many of my users only logon once a week after the weekend. If updates are available for install this users only see a message when they logon after the weeked and this only for a few seconds. I would like that my users can see all the time that updates are available just as it was whit wsus and the windows update icon

  3. Create a scheduled task to wake computer for deployments

Instead of relying on the WOL option which requires a lot of configuration have the client create and remove a scheduled task with the "Wake up computer to run this task" option to facilitate deployments that happen outside of the maintenance windows.

  4. Client Actions - display confirmation OK in the body of the dialog.

Rather than clicking the OK dialog after selecting a task, which is too many clicks for the workplace safety folks, can the message be permanently shown at the bottom of the dialog?
    thanks heaps.

  6. Include Client settings origin when RSOP

Whenever you request the RSOP for client setting, the origin of the the hosting client settings name is shown.

It would be easier to debug to see what Client Setting is applied for that certain setting. (like it is being done with an RSOP request from GPO's)

  7. Option to Create Client Share for CCMLogs

Add an option to create a hidden share (\ComputerName\CCMLogs$) on Client Computers that allows certain users access to view CCMLogs without having to re-authenticate with an Admin Account. Or re-enter Credentials in Support Center each time.

Permissions to the share could be controlled in the same way as Remote Control Users.

  8. Clients automaticlaly clear cache after X days old

Would be nice if included as a client setting for granular control of how long files are retained in ccmache.

  9. Discovery Data Cycle at boot

Add a setting which would allow customers to configure clients to perform a Heartbeat Discovery/Discovery Data Collection cycle every time the system boots. This would help ensure that details like the client's Operating System Build number gets updated in the MECM DB promptly after upgrades in place/Feature Release updates without requiring customers to configure their Heartbeat Discovery to run at frequent intervals, which might be more detrimental in environments with large numbers of clients. Customers often create Collections for deploying Applications/Packages/settings changes to Devices based on the OS Build Version (e.g. customizations specific to the new OS version currently being…

  11. Disable "Configure Automatic Updates" when enabling software updates on clients

When enabling software updates for clients in client settings, a local policy configures the “intranet service update location”. It would make sense to also disable the “Configure automatic updates policy” under Computer Configuration -> policies-> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components-> Windows Update in the same local policy. This would prevent duplicate notifications from the Windows update service and prevent admins installing updates from Windows Update when a SUP is configured

  12. As a Tech, We don't have view permission on sub collection. cannot give only read permission on to the collection

As a Tech, we cannot see collection members as our sys admin block. They said they cannot grant only view permission as SCCM doesn't have that feature. If they give permission, we can add and remove members from the collection. So, every time we need to query the members from whole device list.

  13. Control cleanmgr.exe with Client Config

It would be very cool to control the Control cleanmgr.exe via client configuration, this would make cleaning easier for all clients and no longer require a separate task

  14. Block a specific application on client machines

There should be option in client settings or windows defender policies to block an application.

  15. Make Randomization Delay for Policy Retrieval configurable

The configured Policy retrieval interval is delayed by up to 60 minutes which is way too much for some scenarios, e.g. a user waiting for a software to be deployed or an installation of a new ConfigMgr agent on a machine with more than one client settings object deployed to it (leading to either only default settings applied or all of them, no consistent results). There should be an option to switch on/off the randomization or configure the value (preferably a percentage of the configured interval, not a fixed number of minutes).

  16. Ability to Lock Client Settings down

We use SCCM for multiple Tennant customers, each with their own Client Settings. Although we are able to use scopes to lock down other areas to separate the different customers, Client settings is not able to be locked down. Specifically the Default Client Settings... We have issues from time to time where someone accidentally makes the changes in the Default Client Settings instead of their Agency Client Settings which can lead to issues for the whole environment....

We need the ability to lock down those client settings to keep various customers from changing the wrong Client Settings. As it stands,…

  17. Custom Client Settings Configuration Deployable to a User-Based Collection

At present, there is no option for deploying a custom client settings configuration to a user-based collection. Can you make this available? Afterall, a user-based collection is really a workstation based collection based on the particular users involved. I've needed to set custom restart deferral configs for a particular app deployment that i'd like to target users with, but I don't have this option as a custom client settings config can only target workstation based collections.... whats up with that? :)

  18. Required Restart if User does not Snooze

I don't know why this is such a problem to communicate. I just want end-users to be able to snooze restarts up to a defined maximum period of time (including 'indefinitely'). The latest (2006) update now lets me do that with the "Configuration Manager can force a device to restart" set to "No" which now will present a prompt to the user that they can snooze all they want.....but I can't force a restart if no user is actually there to snooze.

This is simple: I want to force a restart. IF a user is logged on, I want them…

  19. rate limits for client, instead or BITS throttling Transfer rate

It would be super cool to set rate limits for Transfer to Clients in Clients settings, instead of setting hardcoded Throttling Transfer rate as we have. Because it is hard to figure out what are the Transfer possibility from a DP to a Device, if we can have the same setting for rate limits as we have in DP properties where the transfer calculation is build implace.

  20. Separate Restart Oprions for Software and Security Updates

The settings for computer restart for application deployments and updates should be different. Although for an application, a computer restart during working hours is not that problematic, for updates it could be, because, sometimes, depending on hardware, it could take a few minutes to restart.

Please consider adding an option to configure them individually.
