  1. Add WinRM management to Client Settings Policy

Today, we use GPO, Image Changes or Logon scripts to make changes to WInRM on a workstation. It would be awesome if the SCCM client could enable WinRM for me. Then enabling (or DISABLING!) WinRM would be as simple as putting a computer in a collection which receives my WinRM policy.

Sure, there are other ways to do it, but none as resilient as through the SCCM Client.

  2. Add Bitlocker INventory information to default SCCM CB MOF (so no need for modification during MBAM Installation)

During MBAM installation there is the need to add custom Bitlocker inventory modifications to SCCM Mof file - just fricking add these customizations to default mof (and set to disabled)

  3. Client cache size - define what remains untouched, reserved for OS

Defining a fixed cache size always leads to a configuration, that fits first in the beginning, but later not.

It would be nice to define X% of the hard drive, should remain free, reserved for OS (...etc...). Similar to the configuration and approach by the distribution points.

  4. Increase timeout for software inventory or allow it to be user settable

My software inventory frequently times out. I'd like to see either
    1. ability to set the default timeout value
    2. Ability to break the software inventory queries into groups to run at different times

  5. Ability to Enable/Disable Custom Client Settings policies in CM console

Currently, if you want to deploy a custom client setting policy, it requires a deployment to a collection. If you have a policy deployed to multiple collections and you then want to make a change that policy, you have to delete all the existing deployments, which ends up losing all previous "deployment history" for that setting, or you have to lower the priority for that setting, which can cause confusion especially if you do not want the previous policy to be used, period.

Adding an Enable/Disable toggle on the custom client policy would allow us to retain custom client settingā€¦

  7. Changing Internet-based MP of SCCM client

Rather than having to change the Internet-based Management Point for the SCCM client manually, it would be good to have a way to change them all automatically.

We attempted to make changes using the process under CCMHOSTNAME in the URL below but couldnā€™t make it work.

  8. Prevent maintenance mode on Scom Servers

Pausing the Opsmgr Agent on a Scom server is not a good idea. Unfortunately it can happen by accident if you deploy something to all servers and set the Opsmgr option in the deployment settings. It would be great to have the possibility to deactivate the functionality in client settings, or even better the SCCM agent would be so smart to detect scom servers and not to pause the agent there.

  9. Separate Computer Restart policy for Software Updates vs Applications

It would help to have a separate Computer Restart timers for Software Updates and Applications (Or everything else).

Many of my customers would like to set a 24 hour Computer Restart for Software Updates, but something like 120 min for Applications or Packages.

Currently, the timer for Computer Restarts is tied to anything that triggers a reboot.

  10. Allow bypassing WSUS for Features on Demand Installations

Currently, the SCCM client sets UseWUServer in HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU to '1' by default.

This forces clients to look at WSUS for Feature on Demand installs. It would be preferable if we could change this behavior when desired and allow clients to reach out to Windows Update instead of having to host the FOD content locally.

  11. Client Setting For Cloud Distribution Point and Cloud Management Gateway

Add a Client Setting for specification of Cloud Distribution Point and Cloud Management Gateway. This setting would allow to to select any combination of CDPs or CMGs in your environment to assign to clients.

By adding this feature you allow for efficient client communication to a customer's CM environment while off network. US clients can communicate with US Azure Regions, Europe clients with Europe Azure Regions, Asia with Asia, etc.

  12. Maintain Default Client Settings after upgrading SCCM

After upgrading from 1706 to 1710 I noticed that the changes that I had done to the Default Client Settings Hardware Inventory Classes were reverted. I de-selected a few classes to decrease the size of the MIF-files as we had problems with them getting too big and after the upgrade the checkboxes for those classes was again checked meaning I had to redo what I had done pre-upgrade.

Maybe an option during the upgrade wizard to maintain the current settings for Default Client settings.

  14. ModernSleep - Software Inventory - File Scan Issue

Issue: Scanning for EXE files during software inventory keeps getting killed by ModernSleep behavior on "tablet style" devices across our enterprise.

On a users machine you can see after his machine is locked a ā€œCSEvent Enter Eventā€ is recorded. Within seconds the Inventory process detects the event and is shutting down. This process repeats several times daily and the scan never gets completed.

One article I read talks about disabling ModernSleep on Dell computers has already caused issues for them. Contacting Lenovo they say that disabling this is not recommended as it may impact the ability to talk to driversā€¦

  15. Make the Custom Tab a User Client Setting instead of a Device Client Setting

It would be useful to many orgs if the "Custom Tab" setting, for Software Center, was a User Client setting instead of a Device Client setting. This way we could set sites for departments, or groups, and no matter what machine they sign into it will always display the page (SharePoint, etc) that we would like them to see.

For instance, in my own environment, we have users utilizing upwards of 20 different PCs a day. They don't have a "primary PC", and user device affinity is not accurate enough for us (through no fault of UDA; it works fineā€¦

  16. Make Peer Caching retry times configurable

Simply make the timeout or retry a configurable item. The retries are killing us because we have power mgmt policies that enforce power or sleep states. This means peers will not be on. We should be able to configure peer cache to override any retry and hit the DP instantly.

  17. Move Power Management to Client Settings from Collection Properties

Currently, Power Management is assigned to collections. Machines can be in many collections so one needs to be careful to make separate collections and use them exclusively for power settings. If a computer is in multiple collections with power management settings, then the results are unpredictable. If Power Management were moved to client settings, then the Power Managemebnt settings would be predictable and follow other well known and understood models of management. The Client Setting with the highest score would win. Even seasoned CCM admins when asked to adjust power settings looks into Client Settings and wonders why they cantā€¦

  18. Bug with SW Center custom client interface settings

When there have been previous customizations in 1710 or earlier in Administration->Client Settings->Default Settings->SW Center and there has been custom logo or other customizations, after the upgrade to 1802 as now the Custom Settings are moved to a new Windows Form and it Fails to load with unhandled exception System.IO.InvalidDataException: Invalid format in settings xml.

This has happened for 2 Environments for us so far, upgrading from 1710 to 1802. However, we had no issue with the upgrade of a fresh Environment from 1702 to 1802.

  19. Add toast notification time to client settings

Toast notification time needs to be adjustable in client settings.
Default time is too short to be easily missed.

I know this time setting is easily altered from registry with GPO, but in Client Settings it could be targeted much better and more easily.

  20. Enable Windows 10 Developer Mode

With Windows 10, there is an optional feature for Developer Mode. Enabling Developer mode on a Windows 10 workstation managed by SCCM fails with the warning "Advanced development features could not be located in Windows Update". I would ask that SCCM be able to manage Windows 10 optional features such as developer mode and not default to Windows Update.

Start - Settings - System - Apps and Features - Manage Optional Features - Add Feature
