  1. Show PercentComplete in Software Center when installing updates

When installing updates (especially CU´s for Win10/Server2016) it can take a long time until they finished installing.
To show the user that the installation is not frozen or something the “PercentComplete” that you can see in the UpdateDeployment.log should be visible in the Software Center

    • Add "Approval" column to the new Software Center

While I do like the new Software Center, I'd like to see "Approval Yes/No" directly in the application list again, like with the old one.
With the new one, users can only determine if an approval might be required by actually selecting an entry, that's a setback to before.

        • Software center shortcut language

It's not really a high priority suggestion, but it needs to be revised. The software center shortcut is in english when Windows 10 system is in FR-CA. ("Software Center" instead of "Centre Logiciel"). The configuration manager properties in the control panel is also in english, but the Software Center main panel language is in french as it should. We don't have this trouble when we are in a FR-FR Windows 10. Actually, our workaround is to create a new shortcut for the users (with softwarecenter:).

          • SCCM 1702 Required Software Dialog has no details link to Software Center

Before 1702 the user could click "Details" to see what software was required. That option is now gone and the user is presented only with options to install "Right now" or later. They can click the "X" to exit without installing anything but the default is to install "Right now" and the "OK" button is prominently displayed so that users will tend to click that even if they don't have a good opportunity to actually install software at that time. Users want to know what is being installed and decide accordingly.

            • Allow System Restart on VDI clients like Amazon Workspaces

Please add some kind of registry setting that will override default behavior of Software Center.

Users can't remove/suppress the reboot notification or perform the restart by clicking the "Restart" button. The users just get an error about "Insufficient Permission for System Restart".

The users can just Go to "Start"-> Click "Shutdown" instead. It seems weird that this cannot be suppress somehow.

              • Allow icon size of 256x256 instead of 250x250. seems like an oversight, since 256x256 is the most common size.

Allow icon size of 256x256 instead of 250x250 in software center for applications.

Seems like an oversight, since 256x256 is the most common size.

                • Install applications on startup or shutdown

we just search for the option to install oder uninstall applications and packages at shutdown /logoff.
when we upgraded from office2013 to 2016 the users got crazy because office 2013 was uninstalled and than 2016 installed. in the time between uninstall and install nobody was able to work with office.

this is our greateat wish for sccm

Could the Actions tasks be added to Software Center? It would save some steps refreshing content.

                    • Show update installation progress percentage

Show the installation progress percentage for installing Microsoft Updates in Software Center, as is being shown in the native Windows Update App starting Windows 10 1709.

Especially for bigger Cumulative Updates, it's hard to guess when it will be done without a progress indicator.
If you install the .msu files from the Update Catalog, you'll see a progress bar in the GUI - that should be translated to installation percentage.

                      • Re-evaluate requirements when "retry"ing an application install.

The new software center seems to cache requirement evaluation results. Primary User is a big offender for us.

A user fails to install a piece of software with a requirement failure, no primary user set for example.

The technician adds primary user, updates workstation policies etc and the object in the Software Center continues to give the same error when clicking "retry" from the software center.

If the technician goes to the web catalog and initiates the same application, it will reevaluate requirements and installation will proceed.

                        • Add a 'Check for Updates' button in Software Center updates tab

Add a 'Check for updates' button to Software Center.
It will let users have more control over their client through a familiar interface, and allow local service desks an easy way to have an end user check for updates that does not include opening a control panel icon.

                          • Add an 'admin' feature to Software Center.

This could be a hidden option which would simple reveal an admin tab that provided vastly greater detail to what is going on. Provide all available stats, last action Date/time an was performed, import error codes for failed App/TS/Package installs, Windows Updates, Compliance, etc. etc. basically a where tech would want to go to first in diagnosing a problem with 'X' through Software Center. This should be strong information yet simple to discern so the tech does not need to be an SCCM admin to interpret yet hidden from the average user.

                            • Version indication in Software Center

It would be nice to have a visual indication of the package/application/task sequence version in Software center, so that you knew when the change you just made, was available for the user to start.

                              • Make "Terms and Conditions" available to all users via Software Center

Then, make it possible to make some deployments of software dependant to the acceptance.

                                • Change behaviour for Software center icon with transparent background

For some reason the transparent icons in SWC turns out grey, instead of blending in with the background of the SWC.
Would be nice if they matched the background instead.

                                  • End user help in Software Center

My customer is managing more than 300.000 clients with SCCM. End user requests around application deployment, and OS & app updates can quickly sum up to a lot of effort in 1st and 2nd level.
Even recent changes to Software Center already led to hundreds of internal support tickets from business users.

Therefore we are asking to provide a MS maintained end user help (maybe a button or section) for how to use the software center.
The content could be similar to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/understand/software-center, but more end-user friendly with screen shots, walk throughs, ergonomics, etc.
                                    If changes to the end…

                                    • Software Center not scaling properly

                                      Hi

We have deployed SCCM 1606 to 50 Windows 10" Windows tablet and when in portrait mode maximizing the Software center doesn't show the right hand side of the screen. Please look into the scaling of software center

                                      Many Thanks

                                      Gideon

                                      • Hightlight the currently installing package/application in Software Center

When a user chooses to install a package from software center, the UI changes focus to the "Installation Status" tab, but currently installing package is often not the highlighted item. This has been very confusing for users as they think the highlighted item is the one being installed. Only after looking closer do they notice the status column.

                                        • install application for another system

Add the ability for a user with certain permissions to install applications for another system.

                                          Example:

A manager determines that their department needs MS Project. If they have the correct permissions set to manage their specific department machines, then allow them to go into Software Center and deploy that application to those machines.

This would function as sort of a wish list or shopping cart, but for other peoples machines.

Another use case would be you have a standard build-out for certain departments, but you don't want to create different OSD TS's or anything like that, you could have one…
