  1. Add line numbers in CMTrace

I often use a tool to search all log files for a particular entry, and the search results tell me what line the entry is located on within each log file. If CMTrace had line numbers, it would help locate the search results within the log files.

  2. When sending a script, show all of the devices by name instead of showing x Resources

It would be nice to display a list of devices the script was being sent to in the summary instead of the XResource(s) you get today. Just so you can double check your target.

  3. Incorporate Configuration Manager Servicing Extension's RSS and notification feature to the main product

Today Configuration Manager Servicing Extension brings new functionality to the product but it is a separate download. RSS reader can display recent blog postings from the System Center Configuration Manager Team Blog and The Configuration Manager Support Team Blog right to the Admin console. Make this functionality built-in to the main product

  4. Activate PowerShell or Command support in boot images

Another checkbox could be added in the customization of the boot image properties to give us the choice of using a CMD prompt or PowerShell when we press the F8 key.

  5. Provide a new tool for cleaning up duplicate GUID's

Since Microsoft deprecated CCMDELCERT we no longer have a method of cleaning up duplicate GUID's. Please provide a method for us to do this.

  6. A more comprehensive log viewer

Please develop a log viewer that understands and parses the various log files.

Tracking down an error in Software Center often requires searching two to five different log files just to get a full picture of what the problem is and even then it's difficult to determine the root cause.

Similarly, attempting to parse the smsts.log, at times it can be split into as many as three different files. Within that file, it should be fairly trivial to group events based on task sequences, individual tasks, and task groups.

  7. CMTRACE - load blocks of file instead of whole file into memory to speed up intial loads

When opening file in CMTRACE, load portions of the log file (blocks) into memory instead of whole log so intial load is quicker and consumes less ram.

  8. Restart Components of Secondary Sites in the console through the component status

Restart Components of Secondary Sites in the console through the component status and configuration manager service manager.
This can be done on the Primary site but the secondary sites are not listed via the system status\component status.

  9. Fix Support Center on running app deployment eval cycle remotely

When Support Center runs App Deployment Evaluation cycle locally, it uses Schedule 121, which is OK. However, when itā€™s connected to remote machine, it uses Schedule 123, which was deprecated at some point.

Future release of Support Center should always use schedule 121.

  12. Do a tool which automatically analyzes an SCCM site based on Windows 2012R2 exist? This tool should ha a choice to apply recommended fixes

    Hi.

Is there a tool that automatically analyzes an SCCM site based on Windows 2012R2?

This tool should have a choice to apply recommended remedian fixes for errors as a normal SCCM RAP reveals.

  14. Add a command line option to Support Center to connect to a remote computer

The Support Center utility is a great addition but doesn't seem to support specifying a remote computer to connect to from the command line. This would allow it to be called automatically from scripts and other tools.

This is option is implemented for the remote control viewer by running: CmRcViewer.exe <remote-computer>

Likewise it would be great to be able to call the Support Center thus:
    ConfigMgrSupportCenter.exe <remote-computer>

  15. When a new SCOM management pack will be available for the latest release of SCCM?

Currently a very old version of SCOM management pack is available to monitor the SCCM infrastructure. When MS will release a completely new MP to could properly monitor all type of servers in a complex environment?

    Thanks!

  16. Do not require local admin to run service connection tool to download offline updates

In an offline environment customers use the serviceconnectiontool to download the update bits. When running the service connection tool the administrator has to have local admin rights, even to just download the content using -connect. We should not require customers to run this as an administrator just to download media.

  17. Add "color" (i.e. error level) filtering to cmtrace

I open cmtrace for one reason: to find the red lines. Just thinking about opening a log file and dragging the scroll bar around triggers my carpal tunnel.

Please add a button to quickly toggle between showing "all", "only errors (red)", and "only warnings and errors (yellow and red)".

The logic (however rudimentary it may be) is already there. This is really only a (huge quality of life) GUI/view change.

  18. CMCH should be included

I really canā€™t understand why CMCH isnā€™t bundled with SCCM... does microsoft give us some other proper solutions to remediate client health? https://secureinfra.blog/2019/01/17/system-center-configuration-manager-client-health-toolset-to-identify-and-remediate-client-issues/

  19. Make the SCCM hybrid diagnostic tool scriptable

This is a great tool, but it would be useful if it was able to accept command line parameters so that for situations where the IT person that is managing mobile devices might not necessarily have access to run the tool locally on the site server that hosts the service connection point role or Microsoft Intune connector role. If the tool has able to accept command line parameters, that would also allow me to leverage SCORCH to run the tool with appropriate switches and send the output to someone as a CSV or other format with the results.

  20. Make it easier to find Management POint log files

First the earth cooled, then SMS was developed.

Interestingly, the Management Point role uses some aspects of the ConfigMgr client to handle client communications, and thus stores some of the log files related to Management Point stuff (like MP_Registration.log!) in the ConfigMgr client folder.

This leads to countless forum posts like

    Helpless dude: 'Clients won't register',
    MyItForum: 'OK check MP Registration.log'
Helpless: 'I don't have that log!?'
MyItForum: 'OMG it's over here in this totally unrelated path'

It doesn't have to be this way.

    What if we :

A.) If a management point is also a configMgr site server, justā€¦
