Allow unicode passwords in ConfigMgr
With Windows OS you can use unicode characters in passwords. Unfortunately, ConfigMgr doesn't support unicode passwords. If you have unicode characters in your password, ConfigMgr shows a message that password is not correct.

Add site setting to Automatically enable/disable maintenance mode as DPs go offline and come back online
Currently we run a powershell script every half hour that pings all our DPs and places any that dont respond to a series of 3 pings with a 45 second wait between them into maintenance mode. This script also takes any DPs currently in maintenance mode that do respond to a ping out of maintenance mode. Can this be integrated into the console? Seems like most of the code base for this is already there with the MP showing online status for clients in the console (would obviously have to handle non-managed DPs as well).

Speedup Site Reset during Upgrade and Maintenance
When doing Inplace Upgrades of Sites or Maintenance of Sites that require Site Resets (like changing Active/Passive, moving SQL, …) it takes hours or days for the Site Reset to complete in complex Environments with Site Systems behind slow (low bandwidth, high latency) links. And the worst Thing About that is, that PXE mostly is down during that Phase until the reset is finished. I would appreciate to Speed that up, prio1 make PXE stay available during reset, prio2 only copy binaries over WAN links when needed (Upgrade) and maybe use WinRM for Controlling the remote Servers. Also making the…

Support changing the name or domain of SCCM servers
Currently it is unsupported to change the name or domain on any SCCM servers. However, there may be scenarios where a potential change in domain is required, such as a domain refresh or a company purchase/divestment. Right now it would mean having to rebuild the SCCM environment in the new domain, which can be extremely costly and time consuming.

Status Filter Rules Should Allow for Text Filters/Regex
Status filter rules are great. I want to be able to add a filter to a rule, so that only event IDs with specific text trigger an action. Today I have to do this in code, passing all events matching an event ID, which causes a lot of processing overhead.

Do not allow "SMS" as Site Code Name
I found some customers which has "SMS" as name of SCCM site. This make a lot of problems with normal management. This name should also be make as do not allowed (wizard blocks also other names). And if already named, it should allow one time change.
1 voteNoted ·AdminAdam Meltzer (ConfigMgr Product Team) (Software Engineer, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) responded
We do document this, and this has been the case since at least SMS 2003.
See:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/279868/reserved-site-code-names-in-sms-2003-and-configuration-manager
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/deploy/install/prepare-to-install-sitesI’ve also confirmed that Setup disallows you from using the several “reserved” site code names and has done so since at least 2012 SP2.
Was unattended setup used? That’s the only way I can think of that may have bypassed this validation.

IIS application pool check on upgrade and on MP settings change
I stumbled upon a problem where someone added one additional virtual directory in "CCM CLient Deployment Pool". And because of that the result was that clients couldn't connect to MP and didn't et applications and updates and policies. IIS was misconfigured -> "CCM Server Framework Pool" was missing and instead of that there was "BEGIN PROPERTY" application pool. Reason was that setup couldn't delete "CCM CLient Deployment Pool" and after that all was messed up. I think that there should be better error handling in case when there are problems with deleting/creating/recreating IIS Application pools. Right now upgrade went without…

Bring back the option to change the retention period
Bring back the option to change the retention period. The retention days will revert back to the default of 1095. We are not aware of separating a retention date for a cloned CAS database from the actual production CAS database.

Improve monitoring in "Upgrades and Servicing"
Improve the interface with SCCM administrators to allow better monitoring of the update stream (perhaps allowing the update to be launched from the console of the server that will be updated instead of only from the center console - which would allow greater interaction with the operating system in SCCM server to be updated - also making the process more flexible). Also experiencing greater confidence and visibility for administrators who perform it.

Include all Pre-Reqs on Media Installtion Disk
Include all Pre-Req files needed for new install or upgrade from supported platforms
Many of us are on secure networks with no internet connectivity. Getting the pre-req files to the system is nearly if not impossible with the current installation method. Some customers such as myself are not allowed to transfer files from the secure network to an internet facing system, negating the setup downloader method1 vote -
Document SCCM site from Console
We do a lot of projects and due diligence reports.
It would be nice to be able to document the site from the SCCM console - it can be written to a word-pad document and later just be saved to a word format1 vote -
Service Connection Tool - don't overwrite log after each run
By its very nature the ServiceConnectionTool requires several runs in order to fully complete its job. Prepare … export … connect … import. Each run of the tool overwrites the log file.
It would be preferable (imho) that the tool appended to the log file instead, so that a full record of the entire offline transaction is available.
Thanks in advance, and you're welcome.

Include/Exclude Some Roles
• Bank Configuration Manager team wants to have the ability to include/exclude some roles in the attached Pictures.
• For example use for MP only and exclude DP/SMP etc
• Like three checkboxes and enabling/disabling each of the roles independent of each other (1st attachment)Or even much like attachment 2..

Halting/pausing to perform remediation task during an Install of Configuration Manager
Too many times I've began an install of Configuration Manager, complete the pre-requisite check with no failures, then begin the install only to have some small issue an HOUR INTO THE INSTALL totally derail the install forcing me to start all over. There has to be some way of implementing a halt or pause during the installation to remediate certain issues, like changing the TCP port number the SQL instance uses so the SQL Server broker service can be configured. Or at least make sure that prerequisite check covers everything that could cause an issue later down the line. It's…

Configuration Manager Console Setup silent install
Please add consolesetup.exe parameter to uncheck the option "Start the Configuration Manager console after you close the Setup Wizard".
This enables silent installs of the console and avoiding confusion when user installs the software from SCCM while logged on using a normal user account but needs to start the console using Run as Different user using a admin account.
