    • Support Evaluation of "On Battery" for Most Client Activities

To reduce potential for failures due to low battery situations and to minimize the ConfigMgr client's impact to system battery life, introduce a check for certain client actions to allow them to be delayed or bypassed when the system is found to be running on battery or running critically low on battery:
      + Software distribution
      + Compliance settings
      + Inventory
      + Anti-malware scans

Don't install VC++ 2005 redistributable during the ConfigMgr current branch client installation as it is a 10+ year old pre-requisite. Make it so only the latest version of C++ is installed.

        • Bundle MDOP into SCCM already

We already get App-V for free for use with RDS, just lets just go value add with this for SCCM. It would make sooooo many people so happy.

Why can't I use the DaRT unless I have MDOP? Again: the amount of pain it saves in the mass deployment world makes it an awesome add-on.

I can see why MDOP would be a separate purchase for people who are trying to get away with just MDT ... but for those who paid for SystemCenter and are thus paying for an annual subscription ... these are all things the base SCCM…

          • I want XP/server2003 lite support in Configmgr 1511 and above

Stuck with adoption of 1511 blocking multiple customers from upgrading to 1511 that still have mission critical XP systems . (and yes customers are aware and customers are planning to upgrade ASAP …but it will take them a huge investment )

            An example : I have a customer that is managing with CM12 r2 sp1 roughly 4000 Win7 x64 , 600 XP embedded , 2500 servers , 150 XP professional ,and 300 windows 10 clients .

They want to go to the 1511 build , but are blocked by the adaption as the 1511 client for XP Pro is not…

              Discussed this with Kenny…

I’m going to mark this as completed – so you can all have your votes back. XP/W2K3 are out of support, but we do not block them in ConfigMgr 1511. They should continue to work as before, and you can “use at your own risk”, and “your mileage may vary”… But they are not blocked by the product. We especially wanted to make sure you could use ConfigMgr + OSD to upgrade those machines from XP → new OSs (which is one of the reasons we don’t block XP/W2k3). If you hit a bug, we won’t necessarily fix it… unless you can repro the bug on a supported OS.

            • Please do not install Silverlight by default in vNext

Please do not install Silverlight with ConfigMgr-Client by default in vNext. The new Software Center with the integrated application catalog don't need Silverlight.

              • SCCM client auto-upgrade by client parameter instead of SCCM Site server

There are many such agent / clients available in market which can check on vendor web sites for updates and then download and install them. Since SCCM and hub and spoke setup, we can enable SCCM client to perform timely checks on SCCM site servers or DP locations, for any client updates available. If it finds new version, client should download and install the updates.

This will simplify the overall client upgrade process with recurring upgrade needs in CB model. Also, this will reduce firewall connectivity requirements from Site servers to clients that we normally need for client push. This…

                  • Automatic Client upgrades - respect defined maintenance windows

The function to upgrade clients automatically should be modified so it respect defined maintenance windows.
If the client upgrade requires a reboot, and it happen outside maintenance windows, it will cause many issues in an enterprise environment.

                    • wake on lan

                      Wake on LAN server role

Today there is a possibility to enable Wake on LAN proxy role. But this is for clients and also require that there is at least 3 devices that can have this role. And there are issues with support for 802.1x networks.

Many of our locations are small, and we may not guarantee that we have any devices running. But each location have a dedicated server that run the distribution point role. So why not be able to add a dedicated WOL proxy role on servers instead of the clients?

This way we could also limit…

                      • Add Client Cache configuration node to Client Settings object

As of right now, Client Settings are configurable during the installation of the client via command-line or via the client-side interface. I believe it would be beneficial to allow this setting to be configured via Client Settings as one organization could have a variety of different use-cases for creating disparate client cache baselines.
