  1. Check for running .exe, give the User the option to postpone

It would be nice to have an integrated solution for that. I would like to have the option to add the programs ".exe" names to the application in sccm. during deployment, if the .exe is currently running, it should ask the user to close it or give the options:
    - postpone deployment
    - close the application and start update immediatly

if the .exe is not running, it should just go ahead and install it without asking.

and also a silent version of this: check if the .exe is currently running, if no -> go ahead and install. if it's runningā€¦

There are many comments on this feedback item. We’ve read over them many times while building this feature and feel that we’ve hit the core functionality for this request in the 1702 release and so today we are marking this feedback item as complete.

We look forward to all of your passionate commentary, and votes, on the parts of this feedback that aren’t included in the current release to help us decide where to focus our efforts next.

Details can be found here https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2017/03/26/now-available-update-1702-for-system-center-configuration-manager/.

As always, thank you for your passionate support and feedback.

  2. Fix Supercedence behavior

This is definitely in the catagory of a bug or design change.

    Consider this scenario:
    * app A deployed to a number of machines via required deployment
    * app a Version 2.0 comes out, we create a supersedence for the old app
    * deploy Version 2.0 to a small collection with an 'Available' Deployment
    * witness in horror as machines automatically begin applying the updated version
    * check the deployment after the fact and discover that a check box of ''Automatically upgrade any superceded versions of this application' has now appeared in the deployment, and is forced checked.

    No whereā€¦

  3. Force Reinstall of Application

Many customers want to be able to force a reinstallation of an application. this deployment should ignore all detection rules and just install the application again.
At the moment this is not possible.

  4. Make all dialogs shown to the end-user include company logo

A truly great feature would be to be able to customize all dialogs show to the end-user, both for OSD, but also reboot prompts basically all dialogs shown to the end-user.
Adding a company logo so that the end-user actually knows it is from our company and trustworthy.

  5. Software Center: Support multi-select of updates in the new Software center

In the new Software center you can only install applications one after the other. In the "old" Software center you could check each application and then install them with one click.

  6. Combine Software Center and Application Catalog into a Single application

We would like to see a single web portal, preferably HTML-based, to marry the Software Center and Application Catalog. We deploy both types of offerings, and a single place for users to get new software would be great.

  7. Email Application approval requests

Would be nice if the application approval request feature had built-in support for emailing.

  8. Allow interaction with the user when installing applications as System

Many places like to give users custom UIs when an application is being installed. It would be nice to be able to prompt the user for input or give them information without losing the ability to add that application to a task sequence.

  9. Software Center: Add Approval Requests in the application details.

Based on the suggestion from Mark Silvey in the "Combine Software Center and Application Catalog into a Single application" thread, I decided to submit this idea on its own.

Now, with the updated Software Center, the only thing not in Software Center is the ability to do Approval Requests, and that's what's keeping me back from deploying applications that take advantage of Approval Requests.
I've told my users in the past that ConfigMgr is a split user experience, now I have to tell them you have to use the web portal for the one tiny purpose of approval. We're soā€¦

  10. Add a button in Software Center to allow the users to refresh the Machine/User Policy

Add a button in Software Center so the user can update the MAchine and User Policy. Would be a great feature for the end-user when waiting for an application to be available!

  12. Icons and cosmetics for applications

During the Create Application Wizard on Application Catalog step there is possibility to add some beautiful icon. BUT! The icon (*.ico) size is limited to 250x250. Could you make it possible to add an icon file with picture size at least 256x256 (which is quite common size for pictures in *.ico files)? Another thing as well, the icons in SCCM Applications/Packages list (Software Library-Overview-Application Management-Applications). They look all the same! Could you make them more attractive, say, the way they look in Application Catalog? Otherwise, whats the point in Icon column (which appears, by the way, as a default columnsā€¦

  13. Remove the need for App Catalog, by providing all functionality in Software Center

Currently, some functionality is only available in the application catalog, and not in software center. Make it so everything can be done in software center, so we can remove application catalog... and Silverlight... and local site security configurations.

  14. Ring based deployment model in Application Deployment? It would be helpful if we have a similar to Windows 10

It would be good if we are able to have a ring based model for Application Deployment and management as we have for Windows 10 CB rollout with early adopters ring, Pilot ring, Production ring . This will help a lot as we are seeing the benefit of the ring model in Windows 10 Deployment.

  15. Software Center - Highlight relevant item after user clicks "new software is available" notification

    Scenario:
    - End user receives a "new software is available notification' (balloon/toast)
    - End user clicks the notification
    - Software Center opens and shows the "Applications" tab

There is no indication which is the new item where the notification refers too. The user needs to look for any new items in a potentially large list.

It would be nice if the relevant item would be highlighted and/or (temporarily) be listed somewhere on top of the list.

  16. Software Center: Change Software Center to display Package Name as well as Program Name

It seems that Software Center is using the program name to populate packages within the interface. Many admins create a package with a package name that relates to the product being installed but then create program with a name 'Install' or 'Uninstall'.

When the deployment is available in the Software Center it can be confusing for the end user to know what software is to be installed.

Ideally both Package Name and Program Name should displayed in the Software Center.

  17. Increase max length of Package/Program Command Line

The max is currently 260 characters for a package/program command line. This means a lot of things that could be a single powershell or cmd.exe line end up needing content for a .ps1 or .cmd file. Please increase the max to 2048-ish characters so more can get done in one line without content.

  18. When you uninstall an application and the content for all the deployment types is not in the cache then the entire content will be downloade

When you uninstall an application and the content for all the deployment types is not in the cache then the entire content will be downloaded again even if this is not required for the uninstallation routine.

The client should be able to determine whether or not it needs to download the content before initiating an uninstallation.

  19. Add tile vs list display option on the SW Center Applications tab.

Currently entries in the Applications tab in Software Center are displayed in tile mode. This is not practical when having a lot of entries.

It would be good to have an option to switch between a list view and the current tile view.

  20. Support enabling App-V for Windows 10 Anniversary edition

Now that App-V is included, it would be good if there was a way to automatically enable App-V in anniversary edition if an App-V application is deployed, or allow configuration using client settings
