  1. PowerShell script package deployment

There should be an option for PS script in both Package and Application deployment so I don't have to create a batch file to execute an PS script with Bypass, Unrestricted etc. In the same way there's an option in OSD Task Sequence.

  2. Add option to wait for all child processes when installing new application

Add an option to wait for all child processes of the Installation program when creating an Application Deployment Type. This should function similarly to the -Wait option in PowerShell's Start-Process function.

  3. Software License Management - The ability to block application launches via SCCM

A feature that allows for limiting launches of desired installed applications. This feature would assist in license management for software titles with concurrent usage limitations which do not have license management solutions.

  4. Keep App Catalog running with Site Database server down & replica MP's in place

To improve HA options - this was previously filed on Connect (https://connect.microsoft.com/ConfigurationManagervnext/feedback/details/1413501/keep-app-catalog-running-with-site-database-server-down-replica-mps-in-place)

When running replica MP's policy is available on the replica MP's DB and Software Center is available and applications are able to installed even if the site server and DB is down. Great for device targeted deployments.

However for user centric deployments that are available via the App Catalog, the users ability to install these is none existent since when the site database is down the App Catalog cannot load as it tries to connect to it and fails.

It might be handy if the databaseā€¦

  5. Allow an application to install interacively IF a user is logged on; otherwise install without interaction

Currently, in order to allow an application to have interaction, you need to select the option to install "Only when a user is logged on". It would be better if it allowed interaction if the user is logged on, but install without interaction if NO user is logged on. When running an MSI with /qb, you want interaction because the installer may need to prompt the user to close an application. However, if no user is logged on then it doesn't matter and interaction is not necessary.

  6. More than one ProductCode in Application Source Management

For each Deployment Type, you can set one MSI ProductCode to give Source Management in hand of SCCM. If there is more than one MSI inside my installation (if i use a wrapperscript oder something else) I cannot manage my installationsource of the second msi.

Perhabs, you can add a grid like dependencies to add more than one msi product code into a application or package

  7. Combine all portals into one universal portal

There is so many different portals.

1- Company portal app for Config manager.
    2- Software Center
    3- New software center
    4- Apple catalog

Reason: it is way to complicated for users to decide which one to use

Ask: create one universal portal that does all 4 is capable of doing

  8. Delay detection method after application deployment with suppressed reboot

Whenever you suppress reboot for an application deployment by changing it to "no action" or changing 3010 to "success (no reboot)" (poor man solution for us without approved maintenance windows), the deployment rules are run immediately which will fail when it's ex. a Windows hotfix deployment which only updates the files at restart.

It would be great to have an option to suppress reboot for an application without maintenance windows, while making the detection method wait until next restart like it does when using restart countdown.

  9. Add ability to deploy applications / packages with task sequence methodology

Many times we have to deploy applications that are made up of various applications and post application changes. I want to have the ability to deploy applications in a task sequence style format. Basically PDQ Deploy.

Building packages, scripts, applications would be much easier.

  10. Add Deployment Type Requirement for Windows 10 versions.

We want to be able to differentiate the Windows 10 versions. Some Appliactions should only be available to a typical Windows 10 version for example Windows 10 1803. Now(SCCM 1810) we only have the option to add a requirement for All Windows 10 (x64) or All Windows 10 (x86).

  11. OS Build level requirement for deployment types

When making a new application, it would be helpful to have more granularity in the choices for Windows 10 so that we could target particular builds or set a minimum. If I want an application to install on 1809 but not 1803 or older, this would be where I would want to set that.

  12. Make version check more flexible in the detection method for Microsoft Store Apps

When deploying an offline Microsoft Store Apps through SCCM, add an option to consider a version greater or equal to the one in the package to be installed in the detection method.

This will make SCCM play nicely with the auto-update of modern apps.

  13. Ability to Update Office 365 Application Deployment

I've created an Office 365 installer via SCCM but would like the ability to "update" that application deployment instead of having to remake the entire installer deployment. Almost like the ability you have to install updates to your Windows image.

  14. Deploy Repair Action in Deployment Settings

It would be great to have the option to deploy a Repair Action in the Deployment Settings within the Deploy Software Wizard. Purpose of this would be remediation of failed application installs. (eg force a repair script to run "required" on a collection of devices where standard deployment failed).

  15. Install Behaviour, add processpath (as optional)

For some applications, we have severals instances (like Production, Formation, Test). These instances share the same image name (like program.exe) but are in differents folders (like C:\Program Files\Compagny\Product\Instance). So when it come time to deploy new version for a single instance, without the full process path (like C:\Program Files\Compagny\Product\Instance\program.exe), The SCCM Client Install behaviour feature "ask" or "automatic closing" all instance of program1.exe instead of targeting the specific one updated by the deployment type.

  16. Add "Run As" to Applications

Similar to the Task Sequence "Run this step as the following account". Please add this to application installations as well. We have some "difficult to package" applications that require a user profile in order to install successfully. These applications fail to install as an application because when running as the system there is no user profile path. As a result, we have to resort to task sequences to install these which results in a worse end user experience.

  17. Option to specify maximum number of primary devices can be associated in a UDA relationship

We can face issues with licensing if we utilize UDA deployments and allow the end user to specify the relationship or have it based on usage. We need to ensure that there is a 1:1 relationship between user and primary device for this reason. I'd like to specify the maximum allowed primary devices per user if possible.

  18. Required Application Deployment download settings as part of the deployment

When a required application deployment is deployed, clients start downloading the content as soon as they get the deployment in policy.

Need the ability to control a deployments download of content. Ie have a required deployment, but allow the client to start downloading the content after hours. allow a schedule to be placed on the deployment for download of the content. This would allow you to defer the content download to say night time hours or off peak network load times.

  19. Update Notifications to Users for Application Approvals/Denials

Currently, when users request an application through the Software Center, it will generate an email (if setup) allowing helpdesk to approve or deny the request. That feature works great and I think it is a good step forward. However, when the request is approved, no notification is sent back to the user. They would have to manually check the software center to see if the approval went through or if the system is still online outside of their defined business hours, it will automatically install. This is a poor experience from our standpoint as users tend to not notice theseā€¦

  20. User initiated uninstall of required deployments

For troubleshooting it is often necessary to uninstall/reinstall an application. For an available deployment the user can do this themselves, but for required deployments an admin must assist which is not very efficient.

If a required deployment can have a flag for "Allow user to temporarily uninstall" and this then makes the Uninstall method available to the user in software center, the user can easily remove and reinstall the application. (or wait for reinstall in the next maintenance window)

This will reduce IT workload and I guess it shouldn't require much changes in your code.
