  1. SCCM Console: Add PackageID column in applications item view

Get-CMApplication shows me a PackageID for my applications. In the SCCM Console in the application item view it is not selectable.

  2. Deploy Software after initiate Shutdown

It would be nice if an Software Package is required in the Future to set a specific Time when a Software CAN be automatically installed ! E.g. : Deployment availability: NOW
Requirement Date of a Software Install: 5 Weeks
Recommended Date of a Software Install: 2 Weeks

If a Client Shutdown after the Date of Recommend Date of Software Deployment is reached SCCM have to install the Application/Update.

Lot of Customers doesn't like to reboot the PC if there is an important security issue or Preparing for a new Software Upgrade.

  3. Further Customize Web Application Deployment Types

Web Application deployment types in their current incarnation are not very usable. The main issues with using them are that:

    1. There is no control over where the shortcut to the Web App gets placed; they always go to the start menu. We would like the option to put the shortcut on the desktop or in the user's favorites menu. To do this currently we have to write a script and cannot use this deployment type.

    2. The icon for the Web Application should use the icon imported into the software center. Nondescript icons make finding the application you want to launchā€¦

  4. creation date and created by For all SCCM components

It is very hard for a Admin to identify who has created the package\collection\Application etc and when, to make sure SCCM environment is efficient wee need to perform regular maintenance which will save troubleshooting time and cost in saving data in DB and actual content on DP's.
currently I guess we have past 3 months data for collections, we are unable to identify who has created the package and when for old entries.
if we have such information for all components of SCCM it will help us to identify the owner and take appropriate action and ensure SCCM wont haveā€¦

  5. Allow Superseding / Upgrade of app or program not installed via SCCM

It would be great if an supersedence could be created for programs not deployed via SCCM (or previously deployed via packages). I find myself creating "dummy" applications just for a detection, so that we can automatically upgrade applications that are "Available". In other words, often times we don't care that you installed a specific program, but we do care that if it is installed it's up to date. Maybe when selecting the Application and Deployment type to supersede an additional option to supersede base on a detection rule set could be added?

  6. Role Based Control : Enhance the Ability to Add SuperSedence using RBA

Currently under the Role Base Access, if you have full control to an application, and wish to add SuperSedence to an application the User only has read access to, you are unable to do that. The ability to do this is currently available when adding a dependency on an existing app the user only has read rights to.

  7. Mac Script Installer deployment type

Today the only deployment type for Mac is to use the ".cmmac" packages.
These packages are far from on par with what is available for Windows.
The most basic option to uninstall the app is not present.

It would be very usfull to have the "Mac Script Installer" deployment type where we can simply add a .pkg file or bash script with media and execute install and uninstall with custom commands. Some of the packages require more then just the .pkg file and will therefor be incomplete.
Having a uninstall command will also allow for propper supersedence where now applicationā€¦

  8. Application deployment reporting - Report to retain data after re-evaluation of collection(s)

application model doesnā€™t retain the data points as the systems falls out by using a limiting collection or ā€œNot inā€ logic or have to clear the logic for a failed deployment.

Once the systems fall out of the collection we lose the ability to pull reports on them.

This same method works with the package deployment reports, using a limiting or ā€œnot inā€ logic the data points remains even after the system fall out of the collection.

is there a table that can be create leverage to capture historical data to make a custom report for application deployment for collectionsā€¦

  9. Execute Program with least privilege

Please incorporate the option to execute a Program without elevation (least amount of privileges).

    Background:
We sometimes receive requests to automate some process via Configuration Manager. This is frequently done by creating a Package with a Program that executes a script.

    Use case:
When automating the OneDrive sync client (or various other commands / programs), a simple script works well.

    Problem:
When the same script is executed with elevation, it doesn't work as expected.
Configuration Manager elevates the session when the currently logged on user has admin privileges on the machine.
Some troubleshooting is required to find the root cause.ā€¦

  10. Make "hidden" UX option for Application Deployment Types actually hide everything

The installation program visibility in the User Experience tab on Application Deployment Types allows the selection "Hidden" which is defined as "Hidden: The deployment type runs hidden on client devices. Users see no installation activity." (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/apps/deploy-use/create-applications#bkmk_dt-ux)
However, this only applies to the FIRST process being spawned by the execution of the defined install/uninstall/repair commandline. All other processes are spawned interactively on the logged on user's desktop even if the option "Allow users to view and interact with the program installation" is NOT checked.

Right now this behavior prevents us from using Applications instead of Packages as exposing theā€¦

  11. Evaluate App Requirements at App Uninstall

Consider an app with multiple deployment types using different requirement rules filtering on items such as platform (x86, x64, APP-V, etc). When the app is configured the requirement logic is evaluated and the proper deployment type executed.

Suppose that the deployment type selected was specific for x64 systems and also that the deployment type is the third deployment type in the list. Assume also that each of the three deployment types supports an uninstall command.

If the user goes into software center and manually selects to uninstall everything works as expected and the specific deployment type is removed. If, instead,ā€¦

  12. Use a standard file browse dialog for the file detection method

When creating a file detection type, it would be lovely if it were possible to use a standard file type dialog as opposed to the current dialog.

  13. Application Deployment Evaluation cycle (Automatically re-evaluate on required reboot)

When staging an upgrade of a product using supersedence where an uninstall of the previous product is required, followed by a reboot (3010), before initiating the install of the new product I have found that the Application Model is not evaluating quick enough.

I have observed that the superseded product's uninstallation has occurred, signaled a 3010 exit code, and the client's Restart Behavior schedules a reboot as expected. Even though a 3010 is indicated in Software Center, the Superseding deployment type attempts to run and fails due to a pending reboot. Once the pending reboot is satisfied by the Clientā€¦

  14. Show Dependent Task Sequences when trying to delete an application

Instead of just showing the number of dependent task sequences when trying to delete an application list them out. Give more information such as the task sequence name it is assigned.

  15. Scalable list of membership rules or button to show list in another window

The list of membership rules (Asset and Compliance -> Collection -> Properties -> Membership Rules) is way too small.

  16. Pre-deploy software to user primary device on application groups

Actually there is no way to Flag application groups to pre-deploy on user primary device

It would be great to have like on application deployment the capability to flag the groups to install on primary user device

  18. Add clietn settings option to disable software distribution (apps and packages)

We can turn off software updates, hw inventory, sw inventory, and even the ability to remote control with the client, but there isn't a way to easily disable software deployments (application and packages). In healthcare, we have machines that we cannot patch so we turn off the update component as an added layer of protection. We also have systems we do not want software deployed to as well and there are ways to try and prevent targeting, just turning off that component on the client would be much easier with a client setting option.

  20. allow custom message pop-up's for application model

now that we can kill applications with the app model, can we implement displaying custom messages\pop-up windows before the application install action, this pop-up would ask to either continue, cancel(defer the deployment), or continue on timeout. its just such a pain to wrap an application in a powershell script to achieve this. thank you.
