  1. Add an owner attribute to Task Sequences, Applications and Packages.

We manage over 300 applications, and would like for SCCM reporting to list whoi is "responsible" for it.

With that can you add an owner attribute to Task Sequences, Applications and Packages.

    Thank you

  2. Add "Remove Application" task to a task sequence

There is a "Install Software" option in the drop down list when one creates a task sequence. It will be nice if there is also a "Remove Software" option in the drop down list too. While it is possible to just deploy to uninstall just one MSI application, it will be nice if one can uninstall multiple MSI application in a task sequence.

  3. Better Integration with AppV AutoCleanUp

At present, if an AppV has been only published to one user, or globally for the machine, and the AppV setting 'AutoCleanUp' has been enabled, when the AppV is removed it is 'Unpublished' by the CCM client but removed by the 'AutoCleanUp' process meaning the subsequent 'Removal' command from the CCM client fails and Software Center hence reports the removal as a Fail.

    This needs to be addressed.

  6. Install Behavior not met not shown as Error in Monitoring

The ability to use Install Behavior for Applications that an Executable must be closed is great.
But in Monitoring the Application Deployment shows as an Error if the Executable was running when the Application tried to install itself. In the Error Description it states ā€œOne or more processes are running and prevent enforcement actionā€
Why canā€™t it be shown under Requirements Not Met or a new Category but not as an Error? I donā€™t see it as an error and so a lot of Deployments show tons of Errors, that are not Errors, only because the Application is waiting forā€¦

  7. Add a check box to not install required deployments after a deadline if offline

In a situation in which laptops have already cached an application, but login offline after a required deployment has been canceled for business reasons, they will still install the application which is not ideal. If it is possible to add a check box to the deployment to force the clients to only install the application once they are online or receive policy after a deployment deadline has been reached, that would be great.

  8. Add Delivery Optimization to Cloud Management Gateways

Egress costs from a CMG can mount very quickly, but if you had Delivery Optimization, this would make CMG a very lucrative solution. At the moment, egress costs are too high.

  9. Application quantity property

It would be helpful to have the ability to assign a QTY to an Application property and to be able to report against it. Purchased vs deployed=Availability. I have been posting the purchase info in the admin comments for myself but management can't report from it.

  10. Have the client wait for Windows Installer to finish if another installation is in progress. To avoid the 1618 error.

When the deployment type is of type Windows Installer, the client should check if Windows Installer is free and not running another installation.
    Just to avoid error 1618.

  11. it would really help if symbolic links were supported in sccm apps or packages. that will cut the size of big bundles.

Recently I have been working with Microsoft engineer to help us packaging big application bundles and turned out that SCCM does not support symbolic link. when we package apps with symbolic links all is good until we deploy it and check client cache on the client machine where the symbolic link does not show up / disappears. we use symbolic link to minimize package size specially for Autodesk suits where multiple apps packaged together each requiring same library files and tools.

  13. Add Support For VB in Scripts

    Hello,
Would it possible to add support for Visual Basic in the Scripts area of the Software Library? Currently, the only option is Powershell and there's a drop-down menu for that only option (?). I understand Visual Basic is practically pre-historic in these modern times we live in, but i work in an old organization with lots of VB support scripts that could very handily be deployed on-the-fly from the Scripts function....

    Thanks,
    Chuck Olson

  14. Edge Chromium - Create Microsoft Edge Application - enable MSI logging

    Dear PG,

we deploy all our software with MSI verbose logging to allow us proper troubleshooting for any type of installations errors. This way MECM Task Sequence or Application error handling codes it not the only way. We end up in a lot of cases where an in place upgrade happens without a proper way to troubleshoot.

There is zero way in SCCM to enable logging for Edge Chromium installations/updatest at all. There is no parameter which works or is supported. We would like to get to the MSI a way to enable verbose logging with changing the path andā€¦

  15. Deployment Enforcement after grace period expires

We have discovered an issue with the current grace period feature (and got this bug confirmed with a case) not enforcing the deployment after expiration (Software Updates & Application).

    This results in multiple things:
    - the selected duration of the grace period is irrelevant for the deployment enforcement
    - as long as the client is only online during configured business hours an enforcement never occurs (so the documented "...reverts to normal behavior for overdue deployments." does not occur)

As a result an enforcement is not assured and renders this feature unusable if you have the requirement to enforce e.g. softwareā€¦

  16. Option to run Packages as 64 bit

Packages need to be able to run in 64 bit mode. This is critical for reading/updating registry values or when running powershell script.

  17. Make Application Groups being more talkative

We created an application group containing about 10 application.
These application all have an powershell script as detection method.
When installing the application group using software center, it takes up to one minute to calculate the needed application. I guess this is caused by the application group to check each detection method for all application. This is actually fine.
But software center does not show this. if you click anywhere the "Install" button is usable again.
So there should be a status like checking status and not waiting for install.

Technically this works perfect, but the usability is not optimal.

  19. Add "Repair" as possible action in the Application Deploy software Wizard

When deploying an application as required it is only possible to install/uninstall the application. It would be an idea to add the "Repair" action in this wizard. Why, you could use the repair action to do tasks you previously did with a legacy package on a scheduled base. We have this script that installs the application but also contains a part that changes user files. That part needs to be done on a scheduled base. This would be beneficial because then one script can contain all actions and can be made required by the deployment withou reinstalling the application.

  20. Icon database - Once icon is added to application the first time, make it available for further use

Having all the icons within internal database would make the process of creating applications and specifically newer versions of applications smoother if we had the option to choose icon we have already imported previously rather than go browsing from some corner of your drive.
