Actually the MSI is located in the root of the source file then SCCM will be able to detect it only at the root of the source file. But if the msi is Under another directory why not be able to set that localtion?1 vote
It will be nice if a server admin, have the possiblity to choose an application from the application catalog to be installed for the server (including the approval process).1 vote
We use a lot of contractor resources as surge resources for application packaging. Could you implement an approval process (similar to that of Run Scripts) that would require approval before someone could Deploy a newly created Application? This would greatly improve quality and ensure all new Applications have been reviewed to reduce the risk of an ooops.0 votes
When using dependencies and superseedence it seems that the client downloads applications to be able to run the detection method.
My scenario is that i have Application A which from today is dependent of Application B. i added Application B as a dependency and now Software Center shows that it wants to download 11 components. This would be every single superseeded application back to the first version of Application A in our environment.0 votes
Office Customization Tool should organize settings into subcategories and needs to update Office 2016 language.
Office Customization Tool should reference subcategories and needs to be updated from Office 2016 language. The same settings that existed in the Office 2016 Customization Tool still exist in the new tool but they are all lumped together in the root categories. Some of the settings names are vague and only make sense once you figure out what subcategory they were formerly associated with. For example, the settings for auto-correct are lumped together with security and encryption settings. Like the Office "Arabic modes" setting. I had to open up the description before it was clear this was a spell check setting and not a UI setting or character-set option. This wouldn't be confusing if it was listed under "Spell-check" or "Autocorrect."
Many of the setting descriptions still refer back to Office 2016. This seams to indicate that the settings were just carbon-copied from the old 2016 OCT. Unfortunely, they are not presented with the same context as originally intended so they make less sense. It shouldn't be difficult to just put the same categories into the new tool.
The new tool has room for improvement.

When lookin g at the Monitoring\Deployment Display it would be helpful to be able to add the assigned time of a package so that we could sort on that column and have a list of what is deploying and exactly when as a helpful reminder, and at a single glance instead of having to drill down on individual deployment attributes in a single package.0 votes
"Install Software on next reboot" switch for required Deployments
We have machines in production which are always online and only the Users can initiate a reboot or an Software Installation. It would be cool to have an option to install all required Deployments if the Users initiate a reboot. This would raise the SW-Compliance extemely, because the Users often do not take a look in the SW-Center an click on install.0 votes
Provide a task sequence step to install all targeted applications, programs and software updates.
Where imaging a PC is done on a limited time it would be beneficial to install all applications.
Similar to this.
Have a right click option for Applications in SCCM to create a collection of devices its installed on.
It would be useful if there was an option in the SCCM console to right click on an application and have an option to automatically set up a collection using the detection method specified for the application.
i.e. If we have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC v18.11 Application in SCCM, be able to right click it and "create a collection of device or user installs" automatically using the detection method i.e. Windows installer product code or presence of executable plus version etc.
Obviously this can be done manually but would be good if it could be made easier :)0 votes
Office 365 Client Installation deployment features in 1806 appear to be incomplete and problematic. Uninstall statements are not filled in for one. Application Catalog tab is not filled out either. For some reason, creating deployment sources using the new OCT link integration creates sources which are missing files and generates a 30821-1505 error. Running the setup.exe directly from the source also behaves the same. Running ODT manually appears to work, and the source can be imported into SCCM as it was in prior releases.0 votes
When passing a 3010 or 1641 exit code from a program the execmgr reports "The exit code is 1641, the execution status is SuccessRebootRequired" but no reboot is actually pending on the system. Reboots from these exit codes do not change the reboot status and therefore never gets called.0 votes
When you create or modify an application and choose an icon for it from a file, I believe CM automatically chooses the first icon it sees from the index. In reality a single file can have multiple sizes and colors. It would be nice if CM could show you the list of available icon and sizes from the file index and let you choose which one to display.0 votes
Deploying a new verion of a msix application via Configmgr requires a new deployment.
Why not change this behavior so it is possible use the same deployment to do update?
Application01 version 1 is an msix application, and it is deployed via Configmgr.
When there is an update available, it is deployed by updating the source directory and content is distributed to the DP's
then next time a user start Application01 it will be updated.0 votes
When created a MSI installer deployment type, when I specify the PATCH attribute SCCM should automatically pass in the CURRENTDIRECTORY to the MSP specified. Otherwise a 1635 error occurs as the installer cannot find the MSP. This forces everyone to use a "SCRIPT" installer type and put it in a batch file and use %~dp0.0 votes
The current implementation of Web Applications is very limited. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why this was implemented so poorly: batch files are more flexible than this!
I'd like to see this expanded in several ways: choices of where to put the icon (start menu, public desktop, user's desktop), appearance of the icon.0 votes
I'd like to right click on a folder and have the option to Deploy all the apps in that folder.0 votes
Bug I think: I deployed the uninstall action for an App-V 4.6 application through SCCM, with a deadline in the year 2099 (to allow leeway for monitoring before and after in my testing), but it ran as soon as it hit.
Deployed to user, install outside maintenance windows (so I would see it in Software Center without having to wait till after work).
Inconvenient, not a show-stopper.0 votes
SCCM Task Sequences and Application Groups have option to delete install cache after install. Can we have the same for Single Applications, rather than having to create Task\Application sequences? Sometimes I just need to deploy a single app to a collection and want the install cache to be removed after a successful install, and not have it take up valuable disk space as some Apps we deploy are 20GB+ in size.0 votes
When a site only has one distribution point, this point should be chosen automatically when distributing content.
There is really no need for the manual selection process.0 votes
Similar to how you integrated Edge deployment and maintenance into CM, could you do the same for VSCode?
Pretty much the same as this, but for vscode
- Don't see your idea?
