  1. Suggested update to Deployment Wizard

As was indicated in the post to allow required application deployments to be uninstalled, it is often desirable to make a deployment required in order to eliminate the need for user intervention without wishing that deployment to be enforced. The current model interferes with management processes (particularly SAM) by not allowing software deployed as required to be removed, which creates a scenario where someone has to compromise their goals and can be a problem between teams in an organization.

The suggestion is to update the deployment wizard to allow for radio buttons of Attended (formerly Available), Unattended (formerly Required), andā€¦

  2. Ability to deploy multiple applications to same collection easily

Ability to deploy multiple applications to single collection at once, like with this application http://www.vanhatalo.eu/projects/tva_SMAD/v13/ I have made.

  3. Supersede application - show if other application depends on it

If you supersede an application, there should be any kind of wizard which shows you which application depends on it:
The problem in this scenario is, that if you supersede an application which is set as dependency for others, all those applications do not show up in softwarecenter anymore.
So the "sccm admin" should be aware and get a warning when superseding applications which are set as dependencies.

  4. Phased Deployments - Reusable template

Provide a way for a template of settings to be stored and invoked for new phased deployments, so the same collections/settings do not have to be specified for new phased deployments.

  6. Create MS Edge deployment without internet

Actually, is it impossible to deploy MS Edge on management computer without internet: It doesnt't look like you're connected to the internet :

Please close the wizard, check your connection and try again.
Failed to create and establish connection to https://aka.ms/cmedgeapi

Is it possible to add the feature with manual download or add remote download from sccm server like windows update ?

  7. Approval for application groups

Approvals are not available for application groups. It would be so much easier to approve one application group than multiple apps individually.

Approvals should work with application groups the same way than with applications.

  8. Include a time delay in the SCCM Application Dependencies Tab

When adding dependencies to an appliaction is would be good to set a time delay between it and the application being installed.

I have had an instancing in a current project that 2 applications need a time delay otherwise they do not recognise each other as being installed. The only way that this can then be resolved in to uninstall both then install one and then other while waiting for required time of 5 minutes.

  9. Application supersedence for user deployments

At the moment application supersedence is only working with machine deployments. Please make this work for user deployments.

  10. Easier navigation between a deployment's properties and status in the admin console

When I am in the Monitoring Workspace viewing the status of Deployments, I often want to open/edit the properties of a specific deployment. This should be accessible by right clicking the deployment, instead of having to make note of the update group or application being deployed and manually finding it in the software library to get to it's properties.

The reverse process should also be easier. If I am in the Software Library viewing a software update group or application and select a specific deployment for that application, I should have a right click option for 'view status', which wouldā€¦

  11. Application deployment is available/required depending if a user is logged on or not

I'd like to create an application deployment that is available when a user is logged on and it would be automatically required if a user is not logged on.

This is needed when application deployment can happen only if some process is not running. In 1702 you can close some running process, which helps the problem. However, there are situations when you cannot close the conflicting processes, because the user might lose some data. In these scenarios, you need a way to initiate the deployment immediately, when the user logs off or if there are no user logged on.

  12. Process elevation in User Context

"Run as Administrator" will elevate using the System Context.
Elevation of an installation or whatnot should be allowed to be elevated within User Context, even though User would not have Administrator rights on the computer. There are 3rd party tools available to fix this for elevation. Microsoft should be able to fix this in SCCM.

  13. User Based Package Deployments failing after upgrade of clients to SCCM 1606 (Version 5.00.8412.1007)

After upgrade to SCCM 1606 and the 2 latest hotfixes, if we upgrade the SCCM Clients to the latest version (5.00.8412.1007), all user based Package Deployments fail with the below error and we see the same both in Software Center and Application Catalog as below:

    Application Installation not started
You have limited permission to request and install applications on this computer. This can occur with one of the following conditions:
1.You do not have administrative permissions for this computer.
2.You are working on a Remote Desktop Connection session and you are not the default user for that Remote Desktop Connectionā€¦

  14. Give the possibility to install applications as System or Administrator or User

Add the possibility to set up an administrator account or service account to install applications instead of system account. Some applications are failing while the installation with the System account because of missing folders or access rights. For example CRM 2013 have some trouble to install all dependencies silently with the System account. As User with adminrights it works like a charm

  15. Automatically populate Product Code field in Deployment Type when importing MSI Application

When create an Application and import and MSI it will automatically populate the Detection Method with the Product Mode GUID. However, you still have to manually fill in the Product Code field on the Programs tab. This field is almost always a good idea if using an MSI with the application so that you can repair from Programs and Features.

  16. Application deployment pre-approval

Currently, if I deploy an application with the "requires administrative approval" any and all requests for that deployment require an approval.

It would be great to be able to "pre-approve" users during the deployment wizard, so that a senior help desk technician or key application users (for example) can be pre-approved to install software, while other users in the same collection might be required to formally request that software.

Also, it seems strange that if I deploy software with "requires administrator approval" to a collection that I am in, I need to request, and then approve, my own application request.

  17. App-v 5.1 apps blocked by applocker

Having issues with app-v 5.1 apps when using SCCM as a managed installer. Any app-v 5.1 app deployed through the standard SCCM APP-V deployment process is blocked by applocker. MSI deployment are fine.

  18. Add Source Path column to Application Deployment Types

It would be useful to be able to view the source path of each Application Deployment type in the console by allowing the addition of a Source Path column.

  19. maintenance window

When one or more maintenance windows are added or modified on a collection, the SCCM clients in that collection seems to flush all their existing maintenance windows. In the very same second the client sets the new maintenance windows - So it looks like when looking in ServiceWindowManager.log. For applications deployments this "flush" seems to be without problems, but if applications are deployed within a task sequence there is a good chance the deployment will start to roll immediately.

  20. Add all application information to a sql view

We use in applications the field "Administrator comments" in General Information. I like to create a report with this information but cannot find a view. Please add this to a view or better create a view for all application informations. For packages there is already one also with the comment information.
