How can we improve Configuration Manager?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. F8 Troubleshooting Environment Steroids (F8TES)

Replace the OSD Boot Image "Enable CMD Support (testing only)" feature with something that is more robust, helpful, and useful outside of testing like the F8 Troubleshooting Environment Steroids (F8TES).

    Updating status to planned.

We shipped our 1905 Technical Preview today.

    Doc: https://docs.microsoft.com/sccm/core/get-started/2019/technical-preview-1905
    Blog: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Configuration-Manager-Blog/Group-applications-into-a-single-deployment-in-ConfigMgr/ba-p/624318

This preview contains the first release of the task sequence debugger. We’ll continue working on it to address more of the asks in this item.

  2. OSUninstall - Make ConfigMgr Aware of going back to previous builds

Please Make CM aware if an OSUninstall (Reverting to previous Build) has happened, so it can heal itself into a functional state. Currently if you perform an OSUninstall from say 1809 to 1709, after you've upgraded originally to 1809 using a CM Task Sequence, the CM Client is non-functional.
Client is in Provisioning Mode, Services are disabled, and once you fix that, it thinks it's int he middle of the Task Sequence and shows the Upgrade TS "Installing", so then you need to clear that out.

Please make OSUninstall & CM Play Nice together, so we can offer users the…

  3. Interactive step during OSD (or any other TS)

To be able to add an interactive step when running a TS would be useful in many cases. You might not always want to run an OSD as User Driven, but still in one step you want user input.
Not only for production, but for test purposes this would be really good.

Today, I'm running a very customized solution to make this happen.
I created this one in order for this to happen, it should be easier.

  4. TSProgressUI.ShowMessage - Enable Output

Can you add Output to the ShowMessage Method Please.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/develop/reference/core/clients/client-classes/iprogressui--showmessage-method

You currently have the ability to create a Message Box with several Options for the Buttons, but no matter what you pick, or options you choose, you never get anything actionable.

    Current Actions:

    0 - Ok
    1 - Ok/Cancel
    2 - Abort/Retry/Ignore
    3 - Yes/No/Cancel
    4 - Yes/No
    5 - Retry/Cancel
    6 - Cancel/Try Again/Continue

If you could have it Create a Variable upon the end of the step
    SMSTSShowMessageOutput = "ButtonName"

Which then would supply one of the following Values:

Ok, Cancel, Abort, Retry, Ignore, Yes, No, Retry, Try…
