  1. Deploy multiple task sequence to a collection at once

Why is not possible to multi-select task sequences and deploy them at once to a (user or device) collection? Now you have to deploy them one by one. In test scenario's where you have a device collection with test machines and hundreds of task sequences you want to deploy to the collection, you have to do it manually one by one. Not really efficient.

  2. Ability to easily copy files during TS to any location on computer

It would be nice to be able to have a built in step to be able to select a folder/file from a share and then a location on Windows to copy the files to.

  3. Provide GUI option in disk partitioning Task Sequence step to guarantee drive letter selection

We were trying to build a Windows 10 deployment and got stuck for a little while. We used the 1511 WIM from VLSC and had the OSPreserveDriveLetter = True variable. We did NOT do a build and Capture to create the customized WIM. We used the Stocked 1511 WIM to try and lay down the Windows 10 Image.

After lots of reading, troubleshooting, and frustrations, we were finally able to get the TS to use the C drive to lay down the OSDisk.

It would be awesome if we could have a task sequence step that allows the OSD adminā€¦

In 1606 we have deprecated OSDPreserveDriveLetter – instead of using the captured driver letter the change leaves Windows Setup to determine the best drive letter.

  4. Dynamic application and package deployment for prestage media

We are trying to use prestage media to deploy images to machines on sites with little bandwidth, but still with a network connection to the corporate network.

We have a large number of sites and our current online build uses an MDT database with Roles and Make / Model configurations for a large number of sites and hardware types.

Within each of these, we have a number of packages and applications which are installed depending on the site / model required.

This all works fine for an online build, however when using prestage media, even if we include the packagesā€¦

  5. Allow additional customization of the task sequence dialog

Please allow additional customization in the Task Sequence High Impact Dialog Box. Enable or Disable the Individual Comment Boxes completely, and allow Hyper Links to launch a web page with more information.

  6. Fix Task Sequence refresh after vieing content status

In the SCCM Console (doesn't matter what version, I'm using 1511), If a task sequence is under a folder, and if you select View Content Status from the Reference tab, it will take you to there, BUT if you go back to the task sequence or click the back button, all task sequences are gone until. If you try to hit F5 or refresh, you will receive and error: "The requested object could not be retrieved..."

  7. Make Progress Status messages descriptive

The Create Task Sequence Media Wizard reports very basic information during the creation, eg. Processsing 0% or 14 % etc but what is it progressing? As you cannot see this information and the processing status resets to 0% multiple times.

Would be helpful to know what it is doing!

  8. Windows 10 Servicing Dashboard - Windoiws 10 Usage Identification

Please address why are Windows 10 1607 CBB versions are represented as "Other" and CB versions show as "Windows 10, version 1607" under the Windows 10 Usage graphic.

  9. Add Architecture Column in Driver Catalog

Add a column in the Driver Catalog for x86 and x64 Architecture.

It would also be nice if Architecture was searchable in the Search field.

  10. Add option to "Run PowerShell Script" Task Sequence step to run as a 64-bit process

Posted as a bug on connect (https://connect.microsoft.com/ConfigurationManagervnext/feedback/details/2183906) but would also like this as a feature. We are running a PowerShell script that adds Microsoft .NET Framework types (classes) to a Windows PowerShell session (via Add-Type). On 64-bit OS it must run under a 64-bit PowerShell process in order to be successful. Otherwise it just fails with exit code 1. As a work-around we can run a command line step.

  11. Information dialog for "Check Readiness"

When "Check Readiness" fail because of requirements then the result is a error dialog without any information why it fails.
So yes we can go into logs and tell why it fails but for the users that started for example Windows 10 upgrade the error message is not clear.

It would be good if it can say why it failed.
    Example:
Not enough disk space. Require drive with XXXXMB

  12. When deploying a task sequence you should be able to deploy to multiple device collections

When you are deploying a task sequence in the Deploy Software Wizard, you should have the ability of selecting multiple device collections to deploy to (much like the 1702 feature of selecting multiple applications to add to the Install Application step in a task sequence.

  13. WinPE wizard upscaling or hard-coded resolution settings for HiRes displays.

It would be great to be able to customize the screen resolution in WinPE from within the boot image properties, especially on 4k devices where the native resolution makes it difficult to see task sequence steps/failures/logs in WinPE. I've read about an unattend.xml file that you can put in the WIM file but it'd be nice to have this a native feature of ConfigMgr.

  15. I would like OSD standalone media that allows access to the SMP on the network. I guess this would be more of a hybrid media.

I basically want to be able to create standalone OSD media that allows me to backup/restore users files and settings to our State Migration Point. The standalone media now only allows for the hard link option when using USMT. If there was a way possible to maybe create some kind of USMT wizard in the task sequence on the standalone media that would allow me to move the users files and settings to a USB drive or SMP that would be really useful.

  17. Schedule Updates Wizard: 'Date Released' field should sort by date, not numerically

Right now if I go into Software Library > Operating Systems > OS Images > Schedule updates to update my Windows 10 wims with the latest cumulative update (sorted by date released ascending, the dates go 10/x/16 -> 11/x/16 -> 12/x/16 -> 4/x/15->5/x/15->.... So it's sorting them numerically 1-9 instead of December, Nov, Oct as (12, 11, 10) or vice for the latest update releases in the end-year months.

  18. unknown computers distribution point

make a separate Unknown Computers Collection for each Distribution Point, in that way you could make a task sequence available to computers in specific boundaries.

  19. OSD Deployment List Variables

I believe that SCCM should have a means of adding a list of selectable values in the Task Sequence for OSD's. That is to say I add a Variable for "Department" this should then present during a deployment several options to choose from such as "Sales", "HR" or "ICT" So on and so forth. I would then be able to define custom actions dependent on the value of the "Department" Variable.

It would be nice if this would work via PXE or Via External Media. I would love to hear feedback and would definitely love to see Microsoft pick thisā€¦

  20. Ability to disable/control the check for references at startup of a task sequence

A task sequence checks its referenced packages at startup and fails if not all packages are available. With an international hierarchy and some (very big) appplication packages that only need to be deployed in certain countries we don't have (don't want to) put all packages onto all distribution points whether they are required or not. We use the same task sequence for all countries with dynamic variables and some conditions. By condition it is decided which application will be installed at a certain location. The workaround we implemented today is to have one centralized DP with all packages so computersā€¦
