  1. Include the Reports Viewer Role out of the box

Why not automatically include a reports viewer security role out of the box with CM? As a consultant I install CM from scratch regularly and always have to add this role manually as every customer wants it.

Brian Mason and Kent Agerlund give examples here:
    http://www.mnscug.org/blogs/brian-mason/162-report-user-role

  2. Start manually a subscription on a report

Add the possibility to start a subscription on a report independently of the schedule (Like Start now from the right click or ribbon menu)

  3. Add multiple Device Categories per Device

It would be nice to have the ability to add more than one device category per device. This feature could be helpful not only for MDM soltutions, but also for CMDBs or ITSM tools. Such tool could add a device category to one or more devices and the devices would be queried via device collection query. No more need for direct memberships. This would add more flexibility to collection and device management. Also no need for AD-Group discovery any more is this would be in place.

  4. Copy Column Headings When Using Ctrl + C

Its a fairly basic requirement for Collections and Queries, and as SCCM's data comes from SQL which has a console that allows you to copy and paste query results INCLUDING the column headings, it has to be a simple task surely?

Whether it is simple or not, copying and pasting data from Collections and particularly Queries is a very frequent task for most admins, and is huge time saver compared to creating Reports.

So, please can you add this in?

  5. Report Subscription Schedule Offset in days/weeks

It would be really great if when configuring a Report Subscription Schedule you could configure it to run based on the number of days / weeks since "patch Tuesday" (especially in countries other than the USA where "patch Tuesday" is actually a Wednesday and not necessarily the second Wednesday of each month).
It takes some time (hours/days) to receive the updates compliance data from all clients after the MS patches release and WSUS sync, so this feature is really important for Path Management Compliance reporting.
I believe there are a lot of ways to customize the reporting process including anotherā€¦

  6. Ability to Enable/Disable Custom Client Settings policies in CM console

Currently, if you want to deploy a custom client setting policy, it requires a deployment to a collection. If you have a policy deployed to multiple collections and you then want to make a change that policy, you have to delete all the existing deployments, which ends up losing all previous "deployment history" for that setting, or you have to lower the priority for that setting, which can cause confusion especially if you do not want the previous policy to be used, period.

Adding an Enable/Disable toggle on the custom client policy would allow us to retain custom client settingā€¦

  7. System Status sort order by icon or status

When looking System Status> Site Status or Component status you can order by column headers. When clicking on Icon - desired sort order would be red, yellow, green (or opposite) and when clicking on Status then Critical,Warning, OK ( or opposite) .
At moment it is mixed, ie not in severity order, but more like yellow, green, red.
If there is long list of rows and it doesnt fit on screen You must click and scroll several times.

  8. Improve console communication and security to site server

To use the console you need to open up the RPC dynamic port range as the SMS provider is using WMI.

Isn't it time to move to a more secure communication method which allows the reduction in open ports to the site server?

  9. Log for Modficiations to Collections, Software Update Groups, Deployments, etc.

Would be nice to have a log file that shows who made changes to collections, software update groups, deployments, etc. Currently we have dozens of individuals that have access to the SCCM console across our environment. Tracking down who made changes has been very challenging.

  10. Re-Run Notification

It would be great if we can re-run a deployment notification for the users.

    Example:
We have deployed the windows 10 build upgrade task sequence but with a deadline 2 months in the future. It would be great if we can set an additional notification for the upgrade because the most of our users forgot to start the deployment manually. It would be great to send them an additional notification as example at the evening around 4:30pm or manually during the day.

  11. Resultant set of Client Settings should show what policy set the page

If you use several custom client settings, it can be difficult to piece together which one was controlling the actual resultant settings. Add a column on the right which shows the name and priority of the policy that controlled the page (or all that contributed to it for things that are merged... when you get to doing this for antimalware policies)

  12. have the ability to show the 'security scopes' column everywhere in the console

if you have an environment with a deep RBA scoping, it is not Always easy to quickly see which object is secured by which scope in the console as you cannot enable the column 'security scopes' everywhere in the console..
please change this, I'm talking about boundary groups, queries, site, DP groups, DP, global conditions, driver packages

  14. SCCM Scripts: column for Security Scope in Scripts pane

You can set security scopes on Scripts, but you can't see the security scope from the pane - there is no option to add the column to the view.

  15. RBA Detailed report per Administrative User

Ability to right click an "Administrative User" and have the ability to export their permissions to a detailed report.

    For example:

The ability to see what permissions they have for a particular role when its matched to a scope and/or a collection.

Right now I a maintain this in a spreadsheet. It is not enough to say this "Administrative User" is a package admin. Since we can create custom security roles, having the ability to see the specifics via a report per user will be very helpful.

Also when a CM update is released, please include any additions, modifications orā€¦

  17. Quick view devices that require an update from the Software Library

At the moment there is no quick way to see which particular machines require an update. You can run a report from Monitoring, but that means identifying the update then going back to reports and running the appropriate report.

You can however see the the number of devices that require an update when looking at that particular update. A simple "More Details" button here would be useful which would show the machines that require the update or are compliant etc, without needing to run a report.

This applies to both Software Updates and Windows 10 Updates for feature updates.

  18. Version number in WQL queries should not be treated as string

At the moment, version numbers in WMI classes are considered as strings, not [version] like Powershell.

This makes creating dynamic collection membership, based on WQL queries, harder to do, as a 'lesser than' operator cannot be used to efficiently identify devices with a specific application at a lower version than a newer revision.

(I.e. 'ProductVersion' property of 'SMSGSystemInstalledSoftware' class, 'Version' property of 'SMSGSystemAddRemovePrograms' class, 'Version' property of 'SMSGSystemAPPVClientApplication' class, etc.)

Example: Citrix Receiver 4.12 is newer than 4.9. if I were to build a WQL queryā€¦

  19. There is a possibility that SCCM does in Azure Backup.

With more integrated Azure services within SCCM, you could have a Azure Backup integration, creating your blob, which you can do a local copy (cache) and then send to Azure Backup, the status you can follow in the console of the SCCM and have the option to generate alert via e-mail.
Of course in addition to the option of Backup is very important to have the option of Restore.

  20. Console - Add Application Name to Application Properties in Summary Tab

Add the Application Name to the Summary Tab under Application Properties so you can easily copy & paste the name.

If you could actually do this in all areas of the Console, anything you have open, having the Name of the object in the Summary Properties so you can copy & paste out is nifty.

NOTE: ConfigMgr Dev Team at MMSMOA Cabin Session did this for Packages, so hopefully that hits an up coming release, but I'd like to see this in all areas:
    Collections: DONE
    Task Sequences: DONE
    Global Conditions: Not Done
    Drivers: DONE
    Driver Packages: Not Done
