Allow custom icons in software center for Task Sequences
Split this item from a bigger umbrella item.
This is to specify an icon per App Task Sequence in the Software Center.
We’ve released our 2001.2 Technical Preview.
For more info:
This release has some update to the task sequence as a deployment type. See
Do it please! No way to deploy a Task Sequence on Software Center without an icon.

To the "creation of the app manually" comment... are you saing you'd like to be able to point to an exe and have an application created using that exe and all the content in it?
Would like the ability to add icons to Packages, not just Applications. sometimes we have legacy apps using .exe or in house .exe that we add to Software Center and of course there is no option to add an associated icon. Yes, we could do an exe pkg in Applications but it has to be built manually.
Either having the ability to add icons to Packages or the ability to build Applications with .exe would make be awesome!
This would be great!

Please add this feature, it would make the product even nicer. Also an interface to add custom menu items would be nice. Now we have to put in a lot of effort or use third party tools
Our Software Center looks so messy without lots of icons so the users cant always see what they're looking for even though it's there as we cant add icons to them.
It is must to have fature, please add it
We really need the ability to add custom icons for packages and Task Sequences, so when we prepare end user documentation it is easier for them to follow and find the right items, rather than various packages get lost in the sea of sameness.
highly functional to supply our clients aesthetic needs.
Im just getting my company over to SCCM and every one cringed when our PFE said you can't set icons. Pleeaaaase do this. User experience is important. I'm now spending tons of time getting packages to run as msi applications just so we can have nice looking icons.

It would be great to be able to customize the icon for packages and task sequences.

Another vote for this - Software Centre looks a mess without it.

It would also be fantastic to be able to change the text on the button to be something other than install, uninstall, or reinstall. JSS/JAMF/Casper has had this functionality forever. Make it happen!

Software Center looks terrible. We should be able to change the icon for Packages and TS just like Applications. Please add this. Also the ability to add company logo to Software Center would be nice.
Adding icons to applications was a game changer, it lifted moods, made the sun shine and suddenly life was a little better. You need to add this to packages and Task sequences and push us all into that bright new tomorrow.

How hard can this really be to add this functionality??
Add me to this list please. It seems very backward to only allow this for Applications
Would it be possible to add the software icon when we create a program, so the icons are visible in software center? I notice I can do it when creating applications, but not on programs.
If the icons could be smaller, more entries could fit in the list. The icons are huge compared with the accompanying text. I am continually having to maximize or scroll software center to see all the entries. I rarely had to do this with the previous "look".

Can we set the icon for new OS Deployments in Software Center to the same icon used in the console on the "Operating System Image" node?
Would look better than the generic looking one..
