Pending Reboot Indicator in Software Center
It would be helpful, particularly for installing large batches of updates or multiple applications, if Software Center could indicate if Windows has a Pending Reboot. Perhaps an 'indicator light' or something like that in the top right corner. Many times I have been trying to install things via Software Center only to watch the items wait at 'Waiting to Install.' At least one reboot is needed to kick those waiting items into motion.

Perhaps we could also have the ConfigMgr client add a self check to see whether it is reboot pending from an outside influence besides ConfigMgr? Sometimes that happens and reboot is actually pending but ConfigMgr is not aware.

This idea would save a lot of escalations from first line support staff to infrastructure support personnel.
Something on the SCCM object should be able to look for the existence of a pending reboot situation and instruct the user to restart instead of just failing.
I like this idea. An informational banner in Software Center or some kind of notification that there is a pending reboot would be helpful for clients.
Giving some reason why "waiting to install" - in another column maybe. "Reboot status" column, with "pending" or "required" or "no content found" or "time stamp" of the last reboot if none apply.
Or even change the text from “waiting to install” to “reboot required to start install”.
