I think you can use copy and paste through clipboard now. But I’m not sure how it works when pasting to Excel.

When we right click on a device or user in the console, there should be an option to copy the name to the clipboard (and ctrl-c) in the context menu so we can copy/paste the name easily somewhere else.

YES!!!! PLEASE!!!! I would LOVE to be able to copy individual hostnames without all the superfluous stuff. Specifically, it would be wonderful to be able to copy hostnames from a deployment status tab to a spreadsheet... or even into a Right-Click Tools "Add Computers to a Collection" window.....

SCCM now support copy // paste asset details which is good but it does only half what it should do compared to copy // paste from the "show members" of device collections which respect columns instead of dumping the whole line into a single column when pasting in a spreadsheet...

In ConfigMgr Console you can in some places use Ctrl-C to copy result to clipboard. Example. Open a collection, select all and use Ctrl-C. Then paste in excel or notepad.
You cannot however use Ctrl-C in Asset Details for a Deployment Status details (\Monitoring\Overview\Deployments\<pick on of your deployments>).
