Show Machines within Console that Require Updates
You know that "x" number of machines require this update. Would you please list the machines names below. Screenshot for what I would like.
Well, I have to say I dislike the solution proposed by MS because when you click on "view required" link the focus is switched to a different node, and, when you click on back arrow to come back to updates view you loose any search filter. Yes, it is better than nothing... and far better than consult native reports, but, in my opinion, it is not handy solution.
My proposal is to add two new tabs on detail pane of update view: one is to view devices requiring a specific update and the second to view devices that already installed the update.
I already implemented the solution on my own, I attach a screenshot. But I don't share this solution for 2 reasons. First, each time the console is updated you loose the two new tabs (and you must manually add them again); second, my query reports the actual "real time" update status on clients and results can be different to counters on SCCM console due to summarization refresh period.
PS: solution tested since SCCM 2012R2, up to SCCM 2002
Thank you for adding this, I just got to start using this since we are now on 1906! These changes have already improved our security posture by making this data much faster to get to.

Would it possible to also click a machine and see which updates it needs, and for extra credit also showing whether it's deployed (although we can check the deployments tab)
The data is there if you're doing it the other way around.
Thank you for adding this. Looking forward.
Man, this would not only make my life easier, but everyone in auditing and InfoSec. This can be done with reports, so the data is there, just make it readable for us MS!
Yes we need this!!
Still not sure what this isn't implemented been asking since 2007...
