Cloud Management Gateway (as CSP)
With 1610, the Cloud Management Gateway feature arrived. Although it's a Pre-Release feature, as Cloud Solution Provider we're UNABLE to use/implement this. And so are our customers...!
When you try to set this up from the ConfigMgr console, a prerequisite is the Azure Management Certificate, which can't be configured as CSP-tenant because this needs the Classic Azure Portal (ASM). This is unacceptable for us, as CSP, as we would have to instruct our customers to get an Azure Subscription separately.

We have shipped this functionality in #configmgr 2010.

Would really love it if this gets traction. CMG deployment is now done through AzureRM, but yet still uses classic services on the backend?

I do not see this topic as noted or started. Can we have an official statement if this issue is really taken care of?

Is there any update on this? A client is planning to deploy this, but as a CSP it would be pretty foolish to advice them to go to EA subscriptions because of this.

The deployment of a Cloud Distribution Point is also not possible as CSP.
The problem is, that the CMG and CDP uses the classic services which are not supported for Azure CSP.
Hopefully Microsoft starts soon to rework the CMG and CDP services for Azure CSP. -

Hi,
Are there any updates on this? And are there any alternative solutions?

Any update when sccm cb can be used fully with a Azure CSP subscription.

They announced Azure Resource Manager (ARM) support in TP 1802! Excitement all over the place, until you read there's no CSP tenant support... :(
"This capability does not enable support for Azure Cloud Service Providers (CSP). The CMG deployment with Azure Resource Manager continues to use the classic cloud service, which the CSP does not support. For more information, see available Azure services in Azure CSP. "
Please take this last hurlde a.s.a.p. Product Team! :(

Any motion on this one at all? Or are they changing directions due to OMS?

I've had a chat with the product team at the ConfigMgr booth on Ignite in Orlando. They acknowledged this issue and they said they're working on a solution. No timing was given, but it's gaining priority...

We'r in the same situation., and are unable to implement CMG until this is resolved. Voted and shared on twitter.

Tim I've chased up with various guys in the PG and I'm told it's on the todo list but I don't think we'll be seeing an solution until late into the year. The same problem affects Cloud DP too as they are virtually one and the same.

Giving this puppy +3 votes. We would love to leverage this feature, but cannot go backwards into legacy v1 components.

We found this out the hard way too.

I agree, this is such a disconnected decision based on what is happening with Azure and the ultimate removal of ASM.
