Have updates automatically handle MP replicas
It's a real pain to have to tear down and rebuild the MP replicas every time I want to install a servicing update. It would be great to have the update process automatically save the replica state, point the MPs at the primary DB, tear down the MP replicas, do the update and then put it all back.
It is always a painful that deleting the SQL replication for MP whenever, we are performing the in-console upgrade (even before),
In our case. we have a server in DMZ that manages only internet clients and we had a SQL replication configured from standalone primary to DMZ MP server. Can’t we get rid of this without deleting the SQL replication every time we are performing the upgrade. Please note that it would be a challenging task recreating the SQL replication with MP component’s SQL objects, as we will need to select each object manually and every time we upgrade to the new version of SCCM, SQL objects are updating and time taking to reestablish IBCM for internet clients after upgrade is taking longer than expected.
Error in ConfigMgrPrereq.log as below, when i ran the Prerequsites check for SCCM 1606
Active Replica MP; Error; Configuration Manager has detected an active MP Replica on this site. Please deactivate this MP before continuing upgrade. For more information refer to: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=271922
