Wake-up proxy support for 802.1X networks
In our enterprise we have quite a few locations where 802.1X is impelemented, e.g. networks port-based network access control and/or VLANs. Some locations even use DHCP snooping.
We would like to implement SCCMs wake-up proxy feature in these locations but it is not currently supported. Also, network administrators are concerned about the IP-to-MAC mapping (MAC flapping) feature used in wake-up proxy.
Please provide us with wake-up proxy support that will work on any type of network.
Thanks for the feeback and creating this uservoice item. We will investigate some options and consider this for a future milestone.
Totally agree with this. SCCM should utilize technology similar to BigFix and 1e, which use WOL forwarders and don't rely on MAC spoofing to function. This would make a lot of people's lives much easier.

We just got bitten by this last night. SCCM wake-up proxy caused our newly implemented Cisco port-security settings to lock lots of ports.
Can Microsoft fix this or find another solution? The 1E product allows one to setup a designated PC on a subnet to act as a WOL proxy that just brodcasts the WOL packet on the subnet.
