Revision History for task sequences
Could you add Revision History for task sequences? It would save you the effort of exporting and importing task sequences or keeping copies for References. This would be a nice to have feature in the Configuration Manager Console - although I'm sure we all have a scheduled job for exporting SCCM configuration automatically anyway.
Thank you for your feedback.
Updating status to planned, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/understand/find-help#send-a-suggestion for an explanation of each value.
Our 2006 release is now in the opt-in phase (fast ring)

This releases adds the Community Hub https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/servers/manage/community-hub which addresses some of the User Voice asks you have added for task sequence version control, auditing, revision history etc.
The Hub is nascent and we will continue to iterate, improving and adding new features.
As part of this process we would appreciate your comments and feedback on the Hub.
+1 especially for undelete/recycler.
v1906 added the Task Sequence Reference Tab to the Applications List View. It's somewhat useful that you can even right click the TS down there and view or edit it, but you can also unintentionally *delete* it there. (I don't want to try now, if there is another confirmation before deletion.)
Fortunately (for my client), I've found a useful temporary copy of the TS that they had deleted that way.
It might be a good idea to not allow deletion of the TS at that part of the console where you think that you only delete an old application or a reference to it. (I could open a new uservioce admin console request for that problem.)

It is an embarrassment to this product that a proper source control option has not been implemented to date, end of story.
~Sorry Sangeev, 'Administrative comments field' is not the same.

Being able to check in, check out, and branch task sequences would be very helpful. Manually copying, exporting, and importing works, but having true versioning would be very helpful to the enterprise.
Very much needed!
It would be great to have something like the control mechanism of AGPM to manage Task Sequence management with version control, audit and rollback ability
It would be great if there was a way to integrate it with some GIT repo and be able to compare versions

Please create a function to enable task sequence versioning. This feature would be very helpful for reverting back to a previous task sequence as well as accountability for the last user that modified the task sequence.
We write a lot of WMI queries as well as set various task sequence variables. These settings change over time and it would be a great feature to look back on a previous version to view the changes as well as the last user modification.
We currently make copies of our task sequences for this archival purpose. This process works for us now, but we would definitely benefit if this feature existed.
Here's 3 votes! I currently use a spreadsheet and have task sequence named with the YYMMDD format to do this and came here to submit this idea (but found someone already submitted it)
In my idea I was also going to mention to make something akin to the AGPM for Task Sequences along with version controlling. If you haven't used AGPM its an app in MDOP that sits over the top of Group Policy and lets you do offline editing and change management for your policies. Being able to do this with Task Sequences (offline editing and change management) would be fantastic.
At least have the change log automatically filled out with date and time.
And if possibly, highlight/summarize the changes done.
I like the idea! Are you aware of this old script that creates backup of Your changed task sequences?
This would be awesome, managing OSD Task Sequence whit multiple administrators is a disaster.
It would be nice to have a changelog tab (administrative notes) in the properties of a task sequence.
In this tab everyone can log the settings of the changes he/she made in a task sequence.

This should really be implemented, great suggestion!

Yes, you are correct. It is the same thing I did not see that one before.

It would be very useful if there was a way to version a Task Sequence, much in the same way we can do with Configuration Items. I can happen that someone makes a change in a task sequence that can break something and it can be difficult to troubleshoot.
Tasks Sequences can take a lot of time to come together, so rebuilding them can be difficult if someone breaks it.
Also, having some sort of undelete/recycler for deleted task sequences could be handy too. There is no easy way to recover them without a full DB recovery.
