Modify the Configuration Manager prerequisites checker to look for KB 3095113 if Server 2012 or Server 2012R2 is detected
as KB 3095113 is required to do Windows 10 servicing and as WSUS 4.0 requires that hotfix in order to correctly display the Upgrades classification, the prereq checker should check for this hotfix and if it's not detected warn the user along with a URL linking to a guide explaining the correct order to install the prerequisites for the hotfix and that the hotfix needs to be installed directly after installing WSUS.
This is shipped in 1602. Please take a look and let us know your feedback.
Is this broken?
I'm running 1710 on Windows Server 2016 using the built in WSUS feature. When I'm configuring the SUP Categories, I get a warning about 2 different hotfixes related to Windows Servicing. Unfortunately these updates (3095113 & 3159706) appear to be only for Windows Server 2012 so I'm uncertain if they are needed or not and if they are how can I get a version for Server 2016.
Good work, but as you need to install 1511 in order to update to 1602 shouldn't it somehow be backported into 1511 ?
Please do, don't want to wait until 1602 update.
agreed, simplifying this would be great, right now it's quite complex, i explain how to set this up for new installs here http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/13368-how-can-i-install-system-center-configuration-manager-current-branch/ however upgrades are a different scenario
Make it simple omg..

It does also address the Windows 10 being incorrectly defined as Vista that Simon eluded to:
"This hotfix also fixes an issue in which Windows 10-based computers are displayed as "Windows Vista" on Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012."
Simon, no, this is all about the requirement of having to install this hotfix if you are using Windows server 2012 or 2012r2 and hosting WSUS on that server, WSUS 4 needs the hotfix, but in order for the hotfix to install a bunch of prerequisites have to be installed also (i'll blog a post on that today). What I was hoping was that the Configuration Manager pre-req checker would 'see' that you are running Server 2012 (or r2) and informs you (as a warning) to install the hotfix otherwise servicing for Windows 10 will not be possible via SUM.

Is this the one where Windows 10 shows up as vista?
