  3. Install Servicing Stack Updates Before Other Updates

Currently, when servicing stack updates and regular updates are deployed in the same software update group, the patches do not apply in a determinant order. This leads to cases where a cumulative update that requires a new servicing stack is installed before the servicing stack itself.

While this can be worked around by separately deploying the servicing stack update before updates that require said servicing stack, it would be much more convenient if the update installation process checked if there are any servicing stack updates to be deployed and automatically installed them first

  4. Option to uninstall an application when a user or device falls out of scope of the collection

This is a buggy, Would we like the option to have ' Uninstall Application when Resource falls out of scope of this collection' when an application is deployed to a collection, this would save us having to create 2 collections ( install and uninstall) and to deployments. This would save SO much time and reduce the complicity of application management.

  5. SCCM Report - Easy way to create Report & Dashboard

Not really easy to create some SCCM report or Dashboard if your're not a SQL DBA .. even with Report Builder.
Could be awesome to have a new tool where Reports or Dashbaord could be created easily whithout searching which SQL views I need ..ect ... Like some others concurrent application give.

  7. Revamp ConfigMgr's cluster patching, and remove it from PreRelease

Cluster patching feature was added in #SCCM CB 1602, but has been in prelease for a long time. It needs to:
    1) Have improved/revamped UI
    2) Remove dependency on collections
    3) Orchestrate patching for any machines, not just servers/clusters
    4) Remove the feature from prerelease

  8. OSD - Deploy TS to User groups

Would be nice to be able to advertise Task Sequences to specific users or groups. We have some operating system deployments that we would like only certain users to run, support staff for instance.

This can be done today w/ #SCCM 1802 (and previous versions too). I will mark started… and watch comments for why this doesn’t just work… before I mark this straight up completed…

    Steps:
    1) On the CAS (or standalone primary), go to Administration → Hierarchy Configuration → Discovery methods
    2) right click on Active Directory System Discovery and bring up the Properties form. Active Directory Attributes tab, and then click on Custom. In the form that appears, type the name of the attribute. Click OK, and make sure you have added it as an attribute to discover. Run discovery after exiting properties form.
    3) Now when you go to the Devices view and right click on a device and go to its Properties form, you will see the new attribute showing up there.

  11. Windows 10 Servicing Dashboard: Make it clickable

When I go to the Windows 10 Servicing Dashboard, I got a nice PieChart of the Windows 10 Clients and their Version.
But when I click on the PieChart, nothing happens. It would be great to have the same experience on this Dashboard like on the SCEP Dashboards.
That means, if I click on the PieChart one of the Windows 10 Version, a new collection would be opened, with the corresponding Devices.

  12. Create an SCCM Community Catalog Feature

Creating SCCM Collection Queries is an art, and like most art, some of us are more suited to stick-figures while others produce beautiful creations worthy of a place in the Louvre, featuring graceful sub-queries, artful tabbing and good code practices.

When creating a collection, it would be helpful to have an optional 'Community Collection Catalogue' to choose from, which could have a user-voice style 'Most useful' collections list.

Users could create collections here, possibly even having a community 'wish-list' area for those without skills to request from those who would like to share.

Contributions in the community catalog could beā€¦

  13. Improved automation and extensibility by exposing Configuration Manager functionality through a REST web API

Exposing Configuration Manager functionality through RESTful web API's would open up a whole new world for interacting with ConfigMgr.
E.g. a web Admin console and easier integration with Service Management Automation (SMA).
It should also be easier for 3rd party vendors to create new web based solutions for say an self-service portal or a Windows App for tracking an OS or application deployment on a mobile device or phone.
Personally I would really like any easier way to interact with ConfigMgr. when running in Windows PE (OS Deployment) or a web portal for non-admins to provision new or existing machineā€¦

  14. add a powershell possibility to add requirements to a deploymenttype of an application

At the moment it is not easy to add requirements to an application deploymenttype with PowerShell. I think many of us would benefit if this would be simplified.

  15. Include the serviceui.exe functionality in task sequence environment by default

Many organizations create their own front-ends for ConfigMgr Task Sequences (or leverage popular third-party ones like OSD++, Pretty Good Front End, etc.). However, these only are able to be used when the task sequence is in WinPE.

Please add the serviceui.exe functionality into the default task sequence environment so it is possible to display Light Touch prompts when starting the task sequence from an existing operating system. Including serviceui.exe would be enough, or the functionality to launch interactive UI could be added to the environment natively.

  16. Create an OSD variable for Secure Boot - _SMSTSSecureBootState

Create an OSD variable for Secure Boot called _SMSTSSecureBootState. It should have three values depending on the state and the currently running OS: Enabled, Disabled, NA. This can be used during a TS to determine if Secure Boot should be enabled. Currently, a TS variable has to be defined and set based on if the registry key exists or not.

  17. Access log files from Console

Make the log files directly accessible via the console rather than digging around in the file system trying to remember which file holds which logs and ideally make them accessible from a context menu in the relevant areas.

We have shipped additional log collection functionality in 1912 TP. This will allow you to collect log files on demand from a client and view them through Resource Explorer.

Please try it out and let us know what you think!

  18. Add Option to Bypass Proxy for Local Address for ADR Content Downloads

It would be extremely helpful to have an option in the software update point site system to bypass a proxy for a local address. The only options today are (see Current-SUP-Proxy-Options.png):

    • Use a proxy server when synchronizing

    • Use a proxy server when downloading content by ADRs

The issue is when an ADR tries to download a third-party software update, it will attempt to use a proxy server and often fail because the proxy doesn't route correctly to the internal WSUS server. For example in patchdownloader.log, you will see something like <Download-Error-PatchDownloader.png>.

There needs to be an option to not useā€¦

  19. Create a PowerShell cmdlet too add/edit/remove duplicate hardware identifiers

    New-CMDuplicateHardwareIdentifier
    Set-CMDuplicateHardwareIdentifier
    Remove-CMDuplicateHardwareIdentifier

Please create cmdlets to add/edit/remove duplicate hardware identifiers. We have a large organization and those pesky Lenovo Yoga's get a USB to Ethernet dongle with each one. We have over 500 dongles currently, and I don't see a way to automate importing those MAC addresses. Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions, updating status to started.

We added these CmdLets in our 1910 release:
    New-CMDuplicateHardwareIdGuid
    New-CMDuplicateHardwareIdMacAddress
    Remove-CMDuplicateHardwareIdGuid
    Remove-CMDuplicateHardwareIdMacAddress

    More details here:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/sccm/1910-release-notes?view=sccm-ps

Please try them out and share any feedback you may have, then I’ll likely close this item with our 2002 release.

  20. Improve SCCM's built in WSUS cleanup and maintenance task

Preview SCCM versions have a basic WSUS cleanup and maintenance task. It should be evolved and expanded to include SQL index optimization, IIS configuration optimization, and deletes of declined updates.
