  1. Configure multiple deployments in an Automatic Deployment Rule

When creating Automatic Deployment rules, it would be useful to be able to configure multiple deployments.

You may for example want test, pilot and live deployments to different collections and possibly with different settings. It doesn't make sense to have to create different rules with the same updates criteria just for additional deployments.

The CM administrator may choose to have the additional deployments disabled to allow for testing, but enabling a deployment leaves less room for error, and is less administrative overhead than creating these additional deployments manually each time for pilot/live.

It would also be useful to have the…

  2. Allow customizable Software Center notifications for upgrade task sequences

For Windows servicing and in-place upgrade task sequences, grant the ability to customize all fields of the popup. With 1610 custom messaging was added, but it only applies to one field. Suggestions are as follows:
    For the first one:

    • Messaging is unclear as it says "Critical software maintenance must be completed on your computer after…" when in fact it needs to be done before or by the date highlighted.

    • We were originally going to recommend rephrasing that but instead would ask to make all fields customizable inside of SCCM to tailor messaging to the organization's end users. This

Most of the asks here have been completed.

These two smaller UV items remain. Please use your freed up votes to help us prioritize:

    Customize “critical software” text:

  3. Rebuild a content library on a Distribution Point

A function to instruct a distribution point to clean-up/rebuild its content library would be great. This would be particularly useful to fix the "package list in content library doesn't match the one in WMI" errors.

We have 260+ DPs, all members of the same Distribution Group, and 35% of them have mis-matched content library sizes. So obviously content clean-up does not succeed. A way to force them to re-evaluate (without redistributing existing content) would be great.

  4. Software Center: Add the ability to customize Software Center

Create a Software Center Builder similar to the Admin Console Builder application. The ability to customize the Software Center is a frequent ask from customers and this would provide the ability to customize elements to improve end user usability, such as hiding elements that may confuse customers.

This capability is available in the 1710 release of Configuration Manager. More details available here https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2017/11/20/now-available-update-1710-for-system-center-configuration-manager/. There are a lot of different suggestions on this one. This work represents just a few:

    1. Ability to hide/show tabs
    2.Company name/Logo/Color separate from Intune
    3. Framework to add additional customizations (more quickly) in future releases based on feedback.

If your particular comment/request is not one of these please give us the feedback through a new suggestion. We’re very interested in seeing the feedback.

    Thanks!

    Mark

  5. Wants to get display notifcation message in clients to close any opened Office 365 apps while updates installation started

In SCCM 1610 users are not displaying notification message in clients to close any Office 365 opened apps before Office updates installation started in "Software Center" and even we set forceappshutdown=False switch in Configuration.xml file for Office 365

  6. Task Sequence Editor Search

We have over 300 Groups/Steps in a couple of our task sequences. It would be really helpful to be able to search with the Task Sequence Editor. Either by step name or group name. In a perfect world it would be helpful to search descriptions or other text content within each group or step.

  7. Create an SCCM Community Catalog Feature

Creating SCCM Collection Queries is an art, and like most art, some of us are more suited to stick-figures while others produce beautiful creations worthy of a place in the Louvre, featuring graceful sub-queries, artful tabbing and good code practices.

When creating a collection, it would be helpful to have an optional 'Community Collection Catalogue' to choose from, which could have a user-voice style 'Most useful' collections list.

Users could create collections here, possibly even having a community 'wish-list' area for those without skills to request from those who would like to share.

Contributions in the community catalog could be…

  8. Run Scripts: Ability to Edit Scripts

In 1706, once you create a script and approve it (or deny it) there is no way to alter the script except but to create a new one. Would be great to have the ability to set the script back to waiting for approval, which would unlock the code to be edited.

  10. Continue to invest in Out-of-band support (Intel Vpro/AMT)

SCCM only supports up to version 6, latest hardware uses version 10.
SCCM provisioning uses SOAP which was deprecated by Intel.
This is now a big hassle for people who want to use Intel Vpro in combination with SCCM. We need to make use of an Intel Add-on (Intel SCS) to get things working but it’s far from ideal.
Please bring back the provisioning support compatible with the latest versions of Vpro and bring support for new features such as KVM.

In order to support customers as the speed Intel is update Vpro/AMT – we worked with Intel for them to own the integration, and support latest versions (as ConfigMgr itself only supported up to version 6.) Intel has released an updated version that should solve the customer needs:
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/setup-configuration-software.html
We will continue to partner with Intel to provide APIs they need for the integration.

  11. Display active console users

I would like to send a message to all users who have the admin console open. Just a pop-up that warns them of a reboot, or if I need to send out a custom message to all active sessions.

I would like to also be able to see on the Administrations overview page how many Admin Consoles are opened up and connected to the site, and the user name. At the CAS level see all sessions if their are multiple primary servers.

  12. Software Center View Settings configurable in Client Settings

Would love to see the ability to set list view or tile view for Software Center in the Client Settings. List view is much easier to read that tile view and having users change it manually is difficult. Not to mention the settings don't save.

  13. Ability to click back when and re-try when a Task Sequence dependency is not found

At the minute have to completely restart the TS when a dependency is not found. Could we not introduce a retry option once the dependency issue is resolve. Similar to checking for installation pre-req's

  14. Conditional Access for SCCM managed devices

We want to use Conditional Access to Exchange on-premises for Intune managed devices and SCCM managed devices as well. Conditional Access with Intune managed devices works. But for a SCCM managed devices ActiveSync registrations are blocked when users want to use the Mail app on Windows 8.1 managed devices. We are looking for a solution that Conditional Access does not block ActiveSync registrations from SCCM managed devices as well. In our opinion Conditional Access should only block unmanaged devices and allow SCCM and Intune managed devices.

  15. Office 365 Required Updates in 1706 Should Not Force Applications to Close

We can not have production applications close automatically.

Revert back to having required Office 365 updates install at reboot by default and make the force closing of applications with optional display/postpone options a separate configurable option which can be selected per deployment (not client policy).

  16. Console device view should allow search/filter by MAC address

We find ourselves trying to go from MAC address to device in the console fairly regularly, especially when troubleshooting things like PXE from the logs (which only shows MAC address) and needing to kill off failed OSD records (which may be named "Unknown" or have a random computer name in ConfigMgr, but you're now in WinPE ready to kick off the TS again, but only have the MAC from ipconfig /all to ID the old record).

The MAC addresses are already being pulled by Heartbeat inventory, but you can't search/filter of part/all of the MAC address.

    Thank you for making…

  17. Remote-wipe feature for Windows 10 desktop managed by SCCM agent (SCCM agent / Intune MDM dual management)

Currently, it is not supported to remote-wipe Windows 10 desktop managed by SCCM agent.
Intune MDM have ability to remote-wipe Windows 10 desktop, but Intune MDM and SCCM agent dual management is not supported.
We really need supported option to remote-wipe Windows 10 managed by SCCM agent like Intune MDM and SCCM agent dual management option.

  18. Collection Query re-design request

I am looking the issue/design from SMS 2003 to SCCM 2012 version. I am not sure if any purpose must be behind of this design of collection default query select * from smsrsystem.
Whenever a user create the query based device collection, if there is any modification in the query
He/she shouldn’t remove the entire query and apply OK.
If user applies ok, its automatically select * from smsrsystem query will enabled, it will targed to all system which is “All system” as limiting collection.
It has serious issue in most the companies, deployment is performing…

  19. Integrate LEDBAT into ConfigMgr

LEDBAT is a Congestion Control Mechanism that's coming to Windows Server 2016/Windows 10. Successfully used by BitTorrent/Apple Software Update to reduce Bandwidth Saturation during content downloads. This would make WAN transfers of content by BITS (or any other mechanism) 'give way' to other business traffic. Would also improve Software Update scans and HW/Inv Uploads to the MP. LEDBAT makes sure that only unused bandwidth is used for the transfer.

  20. Please improve accessibility of SCCM for blind system administrators.

SCCM 2005 was very accessible to system administrators who are blind. However, Versions after this from 2008 on are not usable. This has resulted in any system administrator who is blind who requires access to SCCM to perform his or her duties to find alternative responsibilities. Up to 2013 I happily worked as a system administrator. I loved this part of the IT industry. However, because so much of my job revolved around using SCCM I had no choice but to leave and refocus my efferts somewhere else. I ask Microsoft to redouble your committment to accessibility to include improving…
