  1. Software Catalog - New application notification

It could be great to have a notification (for users I mean) when a new application or a new version of an application is published in the software Catalog.
Underline new version or special icon visible in the catalog.
    Little notification through SCCM client.
    And what about RSS ?

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions. Updating status to completed – see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/core/understand/find-help#send-a-suggestion for an explanation of each status.

This is the opt-in phase of our 1910 release (fast ring) and it is now live. Customers can opt-in and then download 1910 through their Admin Console now. In a couple weeks, we’ll open it up to everybody (slow ring), to enable downloading without the need to opt-in.

    Docs: https://docs.microsoft.com/configmgr/core/plan-design/changes/whats-new-in-version-1910

Download all content when needed by the task sequence is now supported for this scenario –

  3. Export / Import TS fails with Install SW Updates step (SCCM CB - 1606)

If you have a TS with an Install Software Update step, the TS can not be exported and imported. The Import Wizard fails with a null pointer exception. After removing the Install Software Update step, the TS can be exporteted and imported. The same happens with the Import-CMTaskSequence Commandlet. Please fix this error.

  4. App Approval - Include User “comments” in Email

The new App Approval feature in 1810 is looking great. So we can build on integration with other services and service desk software it would be handy to include the users “comment” in the email body.
Expanding on this and having the ability to add a “cost” and “billing code” field to the app request will enable the app procurement lifecycle to more streamlined.

  5. Clients should automatically switch between SUPs / WSUS

Boundary awareness for SUPs / WSUS

    Example:
    - Clients do not switch automatically to Secondary Site WSUS, if the Secondary Site was installed later as the Primary Site
    - Travellers / VPN connection within the company network
    - No automatic failback if Secondary Site server was done
    etc.

  7. TSProgressUI.ShowMessage - Enable Output

Can you add Output to the ShowMessage Method Please.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/develop/reference/core/clients/client-classes/iprogressui--showmessage-method

You currently have the ability to create a Message Box with several Options for the Buttons, but no matter what you pick, or options you choose, you never get anything actionable.

    Current Actions:

    0 - Ok

    1 - Ok/Cancel
    2 - Abort/Retry/Ignore
    3 - Yes/No/Cancel
    4 - Yes/No
    5 - Retry/Cancel
    6 - Cancel/Try Again/Continue

If you could have it Create a Variable upon the end of the step
    SMSTSShowMessageOutput = "ButtonName"

Which then would supply one of the following Values:

Ok, Cancel, Abort, Retry, Ignore, Yes, No, Retry, Try…

  8. To be able to send wake up packet to a client from the admin console

It would be useful to send a wake up packet to a client machine from the admin console to allow remote access if the machine has been turned off. This could be a check box option on the remote control screen. For example: "Send wake up if client is off"

  10. PXE affinity in Configmgr

We have implemented Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1 CU1, We verified Management point affinity works however it doesn’t work for PXE and PXE point randomly selects any Management Point.

We have a lot of firewalls and several MPs.

I could see below mentioned article with a workaround for untrusted forest.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2858397
System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Client PXE boot may fail if the Management Point is in an untrusted forest

I could see similar not same feedback request
    https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas/suggestions/8417961-osd-should-not-connect-to-internet-only-manageme
OSD should not connect to "Internet-only" Management Points

It will be good idea to have PXE affinity like Management Point affinity

  13. Add a "1024MB" option for WinPE Scratch Space

When I run DISM to add a language pack, I'm told that the recommended scratch space for WinPE is >1024MB. In ConfigMgr, I can only select up to 512MB for WinPE scratch space in my Boot Image. Could we add an option for 1024MB?

  14. CMPivot Log Search

Extend CMPivot to be able to search log files on client systems. For instance, when the root cause of an issue is found in a windows or application log, declare the path to the log file and search for an entry to determine the scope of the issue in the environment.

  16. Application Deployment Types - Windows Server 2016 OS choice

SCCM currently doesn't list Windows Server 2016 as an OS choice from within "Deployment Types" and more specifically at the "Requirements" tab when Operating System is used as a prerequisite. This is a must have in order to be able to target specific applications and deployments only over Windows Server 2016 instances.

At this time even SCCM 1607 doesn't support this as a choice.

  17. Fix the memory leak when editing Task Sequences

I consistently run into issues with TS's when making changes to them. Upon closing the TS or applying changes I will receive an error that says "There are too many steps in your TS...". But if I close the console and reopen it, I am able to make the exact changes and they will save fine. The problem usually happens towards the end of the day so I believe it is a memory leak of some kind. I started seeing the issue in 1610 and figured it would go away with new versions. Just updated to 1710 and the issue…

  18. Have the console alert when the task sequence size is reached

The task sequence has a 32MB size limit for all policy. But for some reason they are actually limited to 16MB. But the Product Group is aware of the problem. I know they are working on fixing the 16MB limit.

This will help us troubleshoot and determine when the task sequence has reached this size.

There’s now management insight rules which will highlight task sequences that will exceed the 32MB policy limit. Guidance for large task sequences is to use nested task sequences as each has it’s own 32MB to work with or if the Run Command Line or Run PowerShell script contains long scripts then consider moving those to referenced packages.

Our 2008 Technical preview contains changes to show the task sequence size – see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/get-started/2020/technical-preview-2008#bkmk_tssize

  19. Give us an option for Appx Provisioning Deployment

ConfigMgr supports .appx deployment, but sometimes we want these on every user that signs into the machine. These machines may be on metered connections and not have a stable connection at the time to redownload the appx file. DISM lets us do this by hand and calls it provisioning. This is a long and complicated process when deploying to 1000's of machines.

Currently SCCM pushed Windows Modern Applications can only installed into the current users profile even if the deployment is targeted at the machine.

Can we get the option in SCCM for if we want the APPX provisioned for…

  20. Allow Boundary Group and Distribution Point Group Nesting

Allow boundary groups to contain other boundary groups (and distribution point groups to contain distribution point groups) so that a services hierarchy can be created and managed much more easily. As an example, below are a Boundary and DP hierarchy setup:
    Boundary hierarchy:
SiteBoundaryGroup - Contains Primary Site Server as an available site system, so it is available to whole site
RegionalBoundaryGroupA - Contains an MP for the A region
    Regional
BoundaryGroupB - Contains an MP for the B region
LocalBoundaryGroup1 - Contains a local DP for location 1, part
