  1. In Windows PE booting from Iso "Configure network settings" greyed out

When we are deploying a OS over a SCCM Boot Media Iso there is a possibility to define a IP, Gateway, Subnet ... If there is a tipping error the TS will fail and we have the possibility to push the previous button. In this Case the "Configure network settings" button is greyed out. Would be great if we could modify this settings

  2. Standalone Primary Mutliple SUPs Documentation update

Standalone Primary with Multiple SUPs - Documentation update

There is limited documentation on how to install and configure multiple SUPs in a Standalone Primary Site. It is advised to have all SUPs share the SUP DB when you have multiple SUPs in a Primary Site to reduce impact if a client changes SUP. However one of the SUPs will synch with MS Update while the others will synch with the one selected to synch to MS Update. Because of this the SUP configuration has to be the same for all SUPs and any SUP/WSUS maintenance needs to be carried outā€¦

  3. Add tile vs list display option on the SW Center Applications tab.

Currently entries in the Applications tab in Software Center are displayed in tile mode. This is not practical when having a lot of entries.

It would be good to have an option to switch between a list view and the current tile view.

  4. SCCM 2012 R2 - PowerShell Commandlet needed to remove Updates from Group (Add-CMSoftwareUpdateToGroup exists)

Hi all, my customer is using the PowerShell on a really high level to automate nearly all his ConfigMgr Patchmanagement Tasks. They are using Add-CMSoftwareUpdateToGroup but they're missing the matching Remove Commandlet.

  5. Cloud DP Option for Internet based Clients

At the Moment Internet Based Clients cannot use Cloud DPs as Content Location as documented here:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/hierarchy/use-a-cloud-based-distribution-point
"Clients on the Internet that receive both an Internet-based distribution point and a cloud-based distribution point as content locations for a deployment, only attempt to retrieve content from the Internet-based distribution point. If the client on the Internet fails to retrieve content from the Internet-based distribution point, the client does not then attempt to access the cloud-based distribution point. "

It would be nice to have an Option that Internet Based Clients (configured in an IBCM or Cloud Proxy Service Scenario) can getā€¦

  6. chained installation of Applications

We have certain applications which needs to be installed together. Like 30 to 40 MSi files related to same application. One of the MSI files is main application and rest of them have to be installed in a sequence. Currently we can do this sequence installation by creating dependencies of application to another application and thus creating a chain. But if anyone application fails to install in the chain, remaiinign applications fail to install. It also not possible to see in the GUI of software center to check which application failed. We have to go to log files to know this.

  8. Auto Apply Driver Timeout

The client appears to have a 8 min timeout for waiting for the Server to reply with available drivers. The server continues after this timeout and can still deliver results but the client has already failed the step.

Allow the 8 min timeout to be configurable.

  9. Set-CM<Type>DeploymentType fails with Invalid Property when updating Content Location

Since I updated to 1706, any of the Set-CM<Type>DeploymentType cmdlets fail with an error when I try to update the content path/location to another location. Based on the error message, it seems the cmdlets need to have extra parameters added to handle the separate Install and Uninstall content paths/locations. Perhaps you could add -UninstallContentLocation and a switch for -UninstallContentSameAsInstallContent.

  10. Direct Upgrade from SCCM 2012R2 SP1 to 1606 or higher (not via 1511 and then 1606)

Right now we're having an environment with a CAS and two PRI with 165,000 clients. The hardware is "old" and has to be replaced.
Everything is running on SCCM 2012 R2 SP1, SQL 2012 and windows server 2008 R2. Now we're planning an upgrade to SCCM 1606 or higher, SQL 2016 and windows server 2016 on different hardware. So far we found some TechNet pages telling us that there are issues with SCCM 1511 and SQL 2016, but SCCM 1606 and SQL 2016 ought to work (There is right now no information about the supportability of windows server 2016 withā€¦

    =================
    Incremental Collection Updates

When you enable incremental updates for a collection, Configuration Manager periodically scans for new or changed resources from the previous collection evaluation and updates a collections membership with these resources, independently of a full collection evaluation. By default, when you enable incremental collection updates, it runs every 10 minutes and helps keep your collection data up-to-date without the overhead of a full collection evaluation.

When you create a new collection, incremental updates are disabled by default.

But by default, the value is now 5minutes as verified in SP1, R2, R2ā€¦

  12. When creating stand-alone media from a CAS, allow primary site selection

Please add the ability to select a primary site or site code when creating stand-alone media from a CAS.

When creating stand-alone media today, it automatically sets the SCCM client to install using the site code of the site that is used to create the media. When using a CAS to create the media, this will cause the client to deploy without a usable site code.

You cannot currently override this behavior through setting installation properties in the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr step.

This was solved with bug 419146 – released in SCCM 2012 R2 Sp1. The code was updated to use SMSSITECODE=“AUTO

  13. Fix button sizes in admin console Title Bar

This has been bugging me for a while (since 2012 really)

Why are the min/max/close buttons so big?
They don't seem to use the Look & feel of the OS

Attached a screenshot of the Admin Console running in Windows 10, but the buttons look so outdated and out of place...

  14. Application approval for a DEVICE collection

Currently Configmgr supports Administrative approval for an application only on USER collections. I'd like it to also support this on DEVICE collections. We base our deployments on Devices rather than users. I would like some kind of approval process for certain applications.

  15. Ignore DHCPINFORM messages in SMSPXE.log for sccmpxe service.

    Team,

Currently when the non-WDS PXE responder is enabled, all DHCPINFORM messages are logged in the SMSPXE.log. This floods the log with unnecessary information and makes the troubleshoting more difficult as the log gets overwritten very often.

Please perform the change to at least not log these DHCPINFORM messages.

  16. Make the the BranchCache experience more consistent

Currently, BranchCache can be enabled via client settings, but still has to be enabled on a 'Per Deployment' basis. Applications have it turned on by default - Pkg/Progs do not. I would like to see a similar approach to Peer Cache i.e if enabled in the Client Settings then it should be enabled for all deployments - or at least set to "on" by default across all deployment types. Also, and option to enable BranchCache across all DPs would be useful instead of requiring a checkbox for each one.

  17. Task Sequence: Allow more than 9 applications in the Install Application step

Would love it if there was a way to allow more than 9 applications to be installed as a part of the install application task sequence step (not according to a dynamic variable list).

  19. Co-Management for a Dedicated Collection

It would be nice to use Co-Management not for all Win10 1709 devices but only for a dedicated set represented in ConfigMgr as a collection. It would be easier for big customers to start testing.

  20. CMPivot Web Portal

We have a lot of people who would love to run queries against our systems (Desktop Support admins for example) that we do not give direct console access to. It would be super helpful to have a web-based interface for CMPivot to allow people an easy method to execute queries.

In addition, a query builder like that of Azure Log Analytics would be helpful as well so we don't have to walk them thru how to write all there queries.
