  1. I want XP/server2003 lite support in Configmgr 1511 and above

Stuck with adoption of 1511 blocking multiple customers from upgrading to 1511 that still have mission critical XP systems . (and yes customers are aware and customers are planning to upgrade ASAP ā€¦but it will take them a huge investment )

    An example : I have a customer that is managing with CM12 r2 sp1 roughly 4000 Win7 x64 , 600 XP embedded , 2500 servers , 150 XP professional ,and 300 windows 10 clients .

They want to go to the 1511 build , but are blocked by the adaption as the 1511 client for XP Pro is notā€¦

    Discussed this with Kenny…

I’m going to mark this as completed – so you can all have your votes back. XP/W2K3 are out of support, but we do not block them in ConfigMgr 1511. They should continue to work as before, and you can “use at your own risk”, and “your mileage may vary”… But they are not blocked by the product. We especially wanted to make sure you could use ConfigMgr + OSD to upgrade those machines from XP → new OSs (which is one of the reasons we don’t block XP/W2k3). If you hit a bug, we won’t necessarily fix it… unless you can repro the bug on a supported OS.

  2. Add "Client Notification" options for devices (and not just device collections)

Today we can run client notification actions on collections or devices inside a collection.
usually when we search for a specific device we do it from "Devices".
It would only make sense to have these options from "Devices" as well and not just by go and browse in "All Systems" or so

  3. add last logged user as column in console

I'd like to add last logged user as a column in the admin console. Our help desk people use this field when calling the user.

This is fixed in the just shipped #SCCM 1802 release. For both Primary User, and Logged on user. We still will improve a couple things:
    1) it is only in devices views; and we will add it in more views (collections, etc.)
    2) We actually think we can do even better than this, and use the SCCM fast channel to show currently logged in now users. If you like this idea, vote here:

  4. Non-cloud support continue

Please don't forget about those of us who work in an environment where we can't connect to the Internet. I've been very concerned by Microsoft's cloud-first effort turning into cloud-ONLY effort.

  5. Support for renaming a site server

Support for renaming a site server. Our stand-alone primary site server is the last server named by our old server naming conventions.

  6. Package conversion manager

Please release a new version of Package Conversion Manager that is compatible with Configuration Manager Current Branch. Current Branch appears to break this application.

  7. Ability to configure more options for Remote Control

Ability to configure connection quality (Example: LAN, MODEM, SLOW) and according to the selection set some options, such as number of colors, do not display the wallpaper of the remote machine, these options would bring a better experience to the connection.

  8. WMF 5.1 breaks class registrations for the ConfigMgr client agent

I've localized this issue to WMF 5.1 on Windows 7. With this installed, the WMI namespace: root\ccm\policy\defaultmacine\requestedconfig becomes invalid. This is important because in In-Place upgrade scenarios from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the task sequence agent cannot resume the task sequence without being able to read this namespace.

These are the relevant errors I see in the SMSTS.log:

Failed to open WMI Namespace 'root\ccm\policy\defaultmachine\requestedconfig'. WMI Repository may be corrupted. Invalid namespace (Error: 8004100E; Source: WMI)

Error compiling client config policies. code 8004100E

Task Sequence Manager could not initialize Task Sequence Environment. code 8004100E

Task sequence execution failed with errorā€¦

  9. Refresh Task Sequences inside WinPE

Can we please have an option to refresh the list of available task sequences when PXE Booting?

At present, we have to reboot the machine in order for a new Task Sequence to show, or if any changes have been made to that TS after PXE Booting (eg you forget to Distribute a package, or disable/enable a step).

  10. Add all iOS compliace Policies to SCCM

Please add more, or ALL iOS compliance policies to the SCCM console. Ā It seems that users running in HybridĀ can only deploy a fraction of the iOS restrictions/compliance options.

For example, I am unable to find any of the "Supervised Mode" compliance policies like "Allow Account Modification" in the SCCM console.

    Thanks

  11. Windows 10 Desktop Full Wipe in Intune Hybrid Implementation

Currently, only retirement/partial wipe is supported for an Intune enrolled Windows 10 Desktop device when Intune is in a hybrid implementation with Config Manager ('Current Branch' 1602 in my testing).

In Intune standalone, full wipe is supported on Windows 10 Desktop. I'd like to request this feature makes its way to Intune Hybrid.

  12. site restore

Add a way to perform a site restore to a system with a different name (but keep the same site code). In the event of a Datacenter Move, often times we are not allowed to retain the same system name (location based naming) and we end up having to stand up and entire new infrastructure and migrate.

While this is doable, it's tedious work and when operating in a Hybrid scenario with Intune, it means that we have to re-enroll the Intune managed clients to a new management authority. It's a whole lot of pain.

  13. Add ability to not include Autorun.inf when building SCCM OSD boot media.

Our Antivirus/malware tools blocks autorun.inf in our environment as well as it is a huge attack vector

  14. Predeclared Devices needs to be administered by ConfigMgr users who are not full site admins

Within ConfigMgr 1606 the ability to predeclare devices was added, allowing you to import single or multiple 'company' mobile assets. Only full site admins can perform this action, this needs to be enabled as a security role or permission allowing non full site admins to complete the task.

    completed  ·  Tyler Castaldo responded

We added permissions for the entire Corporate-owned Devices node — including Predeclared Devices — for the Asset Manager and Company Resource Access Manager roles back in the Configuration Manager 1610 Technical Preview as described here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/get-started/capabilities-in-technical-preview-1610#additional-security-role-support

We did roll this change into the Configuration Manager 1610 current branch release as well.

    Does this meet your needs?

  15. Add a 'View report in Web Reporting' button to Monitoring\Reporting

Reports are awesome! But it would be much better if we could right click a report on the console and jump directly into viewing it on the web, or better yet, copy link to clipboard.

  16. Support installation of packages/apps via dynamic variables in Standalone Media

At the moment standalone media deployments only work when the content is referenced directly by the task sequence. There are some actions like installing apps/packages using dynamic variables which do not work.

The pre-staged media wizard was changed with SCCM 2012 SP1 so that you can add additional pre-staged content. I would like to see a similar approach where you can add additional content to standalone media and then this is checked first when the dynamic install action runs. There is already a process for adding the variables to the media, the only part that is missing is the abilityā€¦

  17. Please do not install Silverlight by default in vNext

Please do not install Silverlight with ConfigMgr-Client by default in vNext. The new Software Center with the integrated application catalog don't need Silverlight.

  18. Run PowerShell Script Success Codes

Would like to see the "Run PowerShell Script" task sequence task have the same Success Codes options as the "Run Command Line" task does. Would provide some additional control in the task sequences.

Currently to circumvent this I create a task sequence variable instead of an exit code to handle a subsequent step however I could likely do more if the Success Codes feature was available.

  19. Automatically remediate Provisioning Mode if client is in this state for x days

If a Configuration Manager Client Agent stays more than 2 days in Provisioning Mode it would be helpful if the client leaves this mode. Otherwise the device will not be managed and it makes it impossible to detect such devices as no Compliance checks or anything else can be done on them. It is annoying especially in cases where you Upgraded the OS from a legacy version to Windows 10 and the client stays in Provisioning Mode.

Thanks for all your suggestions and feedback, updating status to completed.

We still have one open item for cleaning up the task sequence status from Software Center which weā€™re intending to address in our 1906 release.

Thanks for all your suggestions and feedback, updating status to completed.

SCCM 1902 fast Ring released today
    Blog: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Configuration-Manager-Blog/Update-1902-for-Configuration-Manager-current-branch-is-now/ba-p/376516
    Docs: https://docs.microsoft.com/sccm/core/plan-design/changes/whats-new-in-version-1902

  20. Recommended SCCM 2016 infrastructure setup in Azure cloud

It would be good , if there is best practice documentation of setting up SCCM environment in Azure . It could include the supported configurations in Hybrid SCCM environment
