  1. OSD - Have different command-line options in the "Upgrade Operating System Task Sequence" to upgrade Windows 10

Several command-line options are available to upgrade Windows 10 (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/commercialize/manufacture/desktop/windows-setup-command-line-options).

By default, the "Upgrade operating system" task use the following command "Setup.exe /auto Upgrade /NoReboot /Quiet /DynamicUpdate Disable /ImageIndex 1 /PostOOBE <location> /PostRollback <location>" and if you want to use other switches, you must delete the default 'Upgrade operating system" task and use a "Run command line" task.

    Could you provide a system to dynamically change command-line options (eg switches [/ Auto {Clean | DataOnly | Upgrade}], [/ InstallLangPacks <location>], ...).

  2. PowerShell Cmdlet for Modifying Nested Task Sequence (Get/Set-CMTSStepRunTaskSequence)

It would be very helpful to have a cmlet that will allow you to modify the "Run Task Sequence" with PowerShell.

I'd like to be able to script replicating an entire task sequence "suite" (including all of the nested sequences) and re-linking the new nested sequences.

My use case is something like this:
I want to start development work on a new build revision. The script would duplicate the production sequences (both parent and children) and repoint the "Run Task Sequence" steps to new "DEV" child sequences.

This would automate the process and ensure that none of the production sequencesā€¦

  3. Increase max length of Package/Program Command Line

The max is currently 260 characters for a package/program command line. This means a lot of things that could be a single powershell or cmd.exe line end up needing content for a .ps1 or .cmd file. Please increase the max to 2048-ish characters so more can get done in one line without content.

  4. Maintain Hardware Inventory customizations made to configuration.mof during upgrades

Currently, upgrading to 1602 blows away any customizations made for extending hardware inventory in configuration.mof, requiring you to manually back up the settings and restore them after the upgrade.

Make that go away, or at least less of a problem.

Some suggested solutions in order of perceived difficulty:

    - Add a warning to pre-req checker if you don't have a standard configuration.mof so you know to re-implement your changes.

    - Merge the changes into the customer's existing configuration.mof instead of wiping/replacing it.

    - Remove the need for configuration.mof entirely - build a GUI for adding customizations, especially registry customizations

    Thanksā€¦

  5. Bundle MDOP into SCCM already

We already get App-V for free for use with RDS, just lets just go value add with this for SCCM. It would make sooooo many people so happy.

Why can't I use the DaRT unless I have MDOP? Again: the amount of pain it saves in the mass deployment world makes it an awesome add-on.

I can see why MDOP would be a separate purchase for people who are trying to get away with just MDT ... but for those who paid for SystemCenter and are thus paying for an annual subscription ... these are all things the base SCCMā€¦

  7. Support PXE responder to run on same server as DHCP

Currently it is not supported to use the built in PXE responder on the same server that is running DHCP. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have their own servers for SCCM DPs.

  8. I want XP/server2003 lite support in Configmgr 1511 and above

Stuck with adoption of 1511 blocking multiple customers from upgrading to 1511 that still have mission critical XP systems . (and yes customers are aware and customers are planning to upgrade ASAP ā€¦but it will take them a huge investment )

    An example : I have a customer that is managing with CM12 r2 sp1 roughly 4000 Win7 x64 , 600 XP embedded , 2500 servers , 150 XP professional ,and 300 windows 10 clients .

They want to go to the 1511 build , but are blocked by the adaption as the 1511 client for XP Pro is notā€¦

    Discussed this with Kenny…

I’m going to mark this as completed – so you can all have your votes back. XP/W2K3 are out of support, but we do not block them in ConfigMgr 1511. They should continue to work as before, and you can “use at your own risk”, and “your mileage may vary”… But they are not blocked by the product. We especially wanted to make sure you could use ConfigMgr + OSD to upgrade those machines from XP → new OSs (which is one of the reasons we don’t block XP/W2k3). If you hit a bug, we won’t necessarily fix it… unless you can repro the bug on a supported OS.

  9. Add "Client Notification" options for devices (and not just device collections)

Today we can run client notification actions on collections or devices inside a collection.
usually when we search for a specific device we do it from "Devices".
It would only make sense to have these options from "Devices" as well and not just by go and browse in "All Systems" or so

This is fixed in the just shipped #SCCM 1802 release. For both Primary User, and Logged on user. We still will improve a couple things:
    1) it is only in devices views; and we will add it in more views (collections, etc.)
    2) We actually think we can do even better than this, and use the SCCM fast channel to show currently logged in now users. If you like this idea, vote here:

  11. Non-cloud support continue

Please don't forget about those of us who work in an environment where we can't connect to the Internet. I've been very concerned by Microsoft's cloud-first effort turning into cloud-ONLY effort.

  14. Ability to configure more options for Remote Control

Ability to configure connection quality (Example: LAN, MODEM, SLOW) and according to the selection set some options, such as number of colors, do not display the wallpaper of the remote machine, these options would bring a better experience to the connection.

  15. WMF 5.1 breaks class registrations for the ConfigMgr client agent

I've localized this issue to WMF 5.1 on Windows 7. With this installed, the WMI namespace: root\ccm\policy\defaultmacine\requestedconfig becomes invalid. This is important because in In-Place upgrade scenarios from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the task sequence agent cannot resume the task sequence without being able to read this namespace.

These are the relevant errors I see in the SMSTS.log:

`Failed to open WMI Namespace 'root\ccm\policy\defaultmachine\requestedconfig'. WMI Repository may be corrupted. Invalid namespace (Error: 8004100E; Source: WMI)`

`Error compiling client config policies. code 8004100E`

`Task Sequence Manager could not initialize Task Sequence Environment. code 8004100E`

`Task sequence execution failed with errorā€¦

  16. Refresh Task Sequences inside WinPE

Can we please have an option to refresh the list of available task sequences when PXE Booting?

At present, we have to reboot the machine in order for a new Task Sequence to show, or if any changes have been made to that TS after PXE Booting (eg you forget to Distribute a package, or disable/enable a step).

  17. Add all iOS compliace Policies to SCCM

Please add more, or ALL iOS compliance policies to the SCCM console. Ā It seems that users running in HybridĀ can only deploy a fraction of the iOS restrictions/compliance options.

For example, I am unable to find any of the "Supervised Mode" compliance policies like "Allow Account Modification" in the SCCM console.

    Thanks

  18. Windows 10 Desktop Full Wipe in Intune Hybrid Implementation

Currently, only retirement/partial wipe is supported for an Intune enrolled Windows 10 Desktop device when Intune is in a hybrid implementation with Config Manager ('Current Branch' 1602 in my testing).

In Intune standalone, full wipe is supported on Windows 10 Desktop. I'd like to request this feature makes its way to Intune Hybrid.

  19. site restore

Add a way to perform a site restore to a system with a different name (but keep the same site code). In the event of a Datacenter Move, often times we are not allowed to retain the same system name (location based naming) and we end up having to stand up and entire new infrastructure and migrate.

While this is doable, it's tedious work and when operating in a Hybrid scenario with Intune, it means that we have to re-enroll the Intune managed clients to a new management authority. It's a whole lot of pain.
