  1. Create quick deployment report by right-click > Export to Excel

The current monitoring and reporting functionality is somewhat clunky and time-consuming. Being able to right-click an existing deployment under Monitoring\Deployments and export the last-summarized status to an Excel sheet would be an evolutionary leap forward in user-friendlyness for the admin console.

  2. Change Deployments from Available to Required and Required to Available

We would love the ability to change deployments from Available to Required and Required to Available. Currently we have to remove the entire deployment to switch back and forth, and we loose a lot of reporting data during this process

  3. Add 'Expiration Date' and/or 'Deployment Status' column to Deployments tab for Packages

When looking at the Deployments tab of a package or a collection we would like to add a column that could tell us if a deployment has been expired. This could be the Expiration Date set in the advertisement, or a Status (such as Future / Active / Expired).

In CM07 we could add the Expires After column to the view of Advertisements. This request is to bring back this helpful info into a list of deployments..

This would help make maintenance possible. It is difficult to find the advs that have expired today, to delete them.

    Bonus functionality wouldā€¦

  5. New SCCM Maintenance Task "Clean up Deployment Status Messages older than x days"

Install Status Messages of TaskSequences or Applications still exist how long as the associated deployment exists.
In a big SCCM environment (>150.000) with a static deployment construct. (one catalog object, one software, one collection, one deployment) Status Messages are the cause for a strong increase of the database size.
In spite of using Status Filter Rules in the SCCM hierarchy.
For the order workflow, or for troubleshooting only status message were required up to 30 days.

So a hopefully simple Maintenance Task can save a lot of Hard disc space.

  6. Incorrect statistics in monitoring of deployment

When viewing the completetion statistics of an application it says that an amount of deployments have experienced errors, in this case 11. When I go to the tab "Errors" when inside "Deployment Status" i only see two errors.

I have seen this in other applications too, statistics reports alot of errors but when i open the "Errors" tab its empty.

If i run the report "Application infrastructure errors" i can see that the amount of errors reported in the statistics match the number of errors in the report. Most of them are "CI documents download timed out" (which i haveā€¦

  7. Implement reporting (tracking) for package on demand distribution

For the Feature described here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712321.aspx> Scenario 7 ability to distribute packages on demand - there is no way of traking or reporting if this was Happening to the package. I would like to have a report reflecting what packages have been initiated by this Distribution method. This might be be a package flag. Today the only way of seeing this is looking at the MP LM with advanced logging turned on finding

  8. Deployment Status - Add Date Time Status Information

Deployment Status messages do not include the Date/Time that the status message are processed.

We need to have the Date/Time status on these messages, so that we can determine month to month what are the successful installations we are getting on our Application Cat.

One of the main drivers of our App Cat. is to reduce then # of tickets users put in to request software installations. By leveraging the App Cat. we are letting users Self Service many applications on their own.

When we add a new application to the Self Service catalog we need to track the timeā€¦

  9. Right click actions in deployment monitoring

I've noticed in the Monitoring > Distribution Status, we have options to remediate content errors on distribution points. However, in the Deployments section, when clicking on a deployment and viewing errors, we have no options and no actions for remediation. Most of the deployment errors I have seen can be resolved by running a client action.

Example, for all user based deployments. I would have to go to the deployment monitor, get the computer name, go to devices in assets and compliance, search for the computer, and then right click and start the client action. If there are tens orā€¦

  10. OS deployment realtime monitor

Sometimes I need to reboot the SCCM server and there are techs in the middle of deploying an operating system. It would be nice to see a live monitor of active os deployments.

  11. Show pending installation (deployments for apps and programs, software updates) in ConfigMgr applet

To the admin and user it's not transparent if the ConfigMgr agent has work to do, like pending application installations, software updates and so on. I have many customers asking for an easy overview of "is there something missing/pending" on the client. The don't want to browse through log files, or create there own scripts/WMI queries, reports and so on. Of course they already did, but every new customer is missing this information. It's quite easy to query, all information is in WMI and visible through some additional tools, but it would be very neat to have this out-of-the-box.

  12. Clients to find closer MP, SUP, DP by network / ping latency (No Boundary Mgmt)

Current methods of ADSite, IPSUbnet, IP Ranges are for larger enterprise pose hectic admin hours and pose for slippages, impacting software, patch deployment compliance. Would it be a good idea to tell SCCM client to locate its MP, SUP, DP etc servers by ping / network latency checks so it find a closer one...this saves us with no boundary management at all... some ifs, buts which can be addressed but overal lgains overweigh them

  13. Office 365 Client Management

It's a good feature in SCCM 1710 to view the Office 365 client management as a graphical representation in the Dashboard.

More beneficial if we render (or take reports) the machine details from that graphical representation. So that we can focus on that hosts by deploying or troubleshoot why the Office versions are not updated.

  14. Give an opportunity to view status of several deployments

For example, We have 200+ deployments in \Monitoring\Overview\Deployments node.

I want to see detailed status of several deployment.Nowadays, the sequence is:
    1. Searching a deployment. right click - view status. Deployment status is opened.
    2. left click on Deployments node.
    3. Searching a deployment. right click - view status. Deployment status is opened.
    4. left click on Deployments node.
    5. Searching a deployment. right click - view status. Deployment status is opened.

    And so on.

It would be better to select several deployment and get this

  15. Monitoring > Deployments - Remember search results when back button is used

From Monitoring > Deployments, if I enter text into the search bar then click Search, click View Status on one of the returned results then click the Back arrow the search results do not reappear.

As I'm lazy I don't like having to retype this :)

  16. Customer would like the ability to manage Primary sites content with the same options we already have for Distribution Points.

Customer would like the ability to manager Primary sites content with the same options they have for Distribution Points. Specifically the ability to adjust space options such as the existing DP options for MinFreeSpace and ReservedDiskSpace to manage the content library on the primary site "

  17. Favourite Deployments

It would be useful to be able to set "favourite" deployments, then have a Favourites section where we could quickly check the status of those deployments.
Or an overview screen which showed the status of all favourite deployments.
This would be particularly useful to make monitoring windows updates easy

  18. Assume breach - "Freeze all" button

In case of a breach, some malicious guy may deploy unwanted content to clients.
It would be great to have some function (not necessarily in the console, could be PSH)
    - freezing distribution of a content if being distributed and/or
    - freezing client download if being downloaded by a client
    - blocking install if it has begun (using BGB in this case to kill msiexec ?)

  19. Live view of active deployments

It would be handy to have a Birdseye view of current deployment activity.

I know that I can view the status of a single deployment, but it would be nice to have a pane that would show all activity going on across all deployments

  20. Available deployment status message once received in software center

When we do an available deployment for Applications, Packages and Task Sequences in SCCM, we can't get the status of how many machines have received the deployment and made available in software center for the user to initiate.

It would be helpful if we can get a report for how many machines have got this available deployment in the software center OR if we get a status message in DB to identify how many machines have received the available deployment in software center and waiting for the user's action on it.

This will help us to create an accurate complianceā€¦
