  1. Edge Deployment: Add Execution Policy Bypass by default

When creating an Edge deployment via the integrated Edge Management the parameter "-ExcecutionPolicy Bypass" has to be added manually to the installation command if the client's execution policy does not allow the PowerShell script to be run by default.

The bypass parameter should be added to the command line by default.

  2. Add Roslyn/SQL Parser support for WQL query

There are many ideas around this, however existing mature Roslyn/SQL Parser stack is easy to implement. We do not need a full IDE but at least syntax highlighting, autocomplete, line numbers, auto-indentation, tooltips for descriptions for WMI classes and other built-in features etc.

We can assume that more like SQL Server Management Studio, PowerShell ISE or LINQPad yet only a subset of the features.

Also it would be great if we can treat enabled WMI Classes as references in a C# project. So that the scripting environment can warn the user to enable a WMI class before using it inā€¦

  3. The same right click menu for a computer when you find it via monitoring, as when finding it in a collection.

When monitoring a deployment I want to further investigate why a certain computer has got problems. Today I have to switch to Assets and Compliance and find the computer there to handle it. It would be so much faster to just right click it in Monitoring and get the same menu as in Assets and Compliance. It would also be easy to create Collections depending on the errors.

  4. TS Step "Add Operating System Images" should allow to add esd file

Step "Add Operating System Images" should allow adding install.esd file.

When we extract ISO for Windows 10 version. We can see install.esd instead of install.wim file. This has come as new change by microsoft. Rather than providing wim file, they have started providing esd file which make sense as it reduces size by approximately 30%, the same format we can see for Feature Update as well once downloaded through SCCM Windows 10 Servicing.

I am aware of the fact that we can convert the esd to wim by running command:
    dism /export-image /SourceImageFile:install.esd /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:install.wim /Compress:max /CheckIntegrity

    But this seemsā€¦

  5. Phased Deployments

We need more phases in Phased Deployments I would think a max of 6 should suffice for most.

  6. Add ability to specify a Package AND use Add Script in a Task Sequence

Currently, when using the Run PowerShell Script step, you can specify a package and a script in that package, or you can use the entry box and enter custom powershell code there. It would be great to be able to specify package source AND use the custom code entry together. An example:

Run Command Line with a Package Source selected:

    Powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\StartMenu.bin -MountPath C:\

Run PowerShell Script with Package selected:

    Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\StartMenu.bin -MountPath C:\

To do this today using Run PowerShell Script, I would have to create a PS1 file in my Package source andā€¦

  7. Context menue - ADD function "Expired update"

Context menue - ADD function "Expired update"

it would make live easier to expire updates directly in the memcm console instead of using powershell or the WSUS...

specially in the 3rd party patching area it would make sense to get rid of unwanted updates in an easy professional and smart way...

  8. Azure AD Group Discovery - Discover Intune Enrolled Devices

Today in the Modern workplace of Autopilot provisioning; Organizations decide to keep everything on Azure Active Directory (Device Identity and User identity) with co-management capabilities.

Currently Azure AD Group Discovery does support to discover only cloud based resources.. But to enable Advanced deployment targeting; it would be better to enable these discovery methods.

    (i) Able to discover Hybrid Users as well not only for Cloud Users
(ii) Able to discover AAD Joined devices through Device Discovery especially Intune and Autopilot enrolled.

Through this; organizations will be able to create SCCM Deployments with Device and User Group Membership through Advanced customizedā€¦

  9. Better information in the Client health dashboard

Include reasons for why something is showing as a failure or success in the client health dashboard.

Include common fixes for each problem.

Better documentation would also fix this problem.

  10. Standalone hybrid secure prestagable media option

Create new task sequence media option: "Standalone hybrid prestagable".

This is basically a standalone task sequence that can function WITH or WITHOUT network connectivity to the SCCM infrastructure. If the content needed by the task sequence engine is already available locally and the connection to SCCM is unavailable, it installs via the local copy of content. Conversely if the connection to SCCM is functional, then it should check if the local content (task sequence, packages, applications) is still the latest revision, and if not, it downloads the content from the distribution point. As with any standalone media, it must beā€¦

  11. Powershell cmdlet for creating MSIX deploymentType

I would like to script MSIX import in SCCM. Through the console, when you import a msix detection method is created automatically. Add-CMAppxDeploymentType only works with *.appx files. It would be nice to be able to create MSIX deploymenttype like Script, MSI and XAP

  12. references in task sequence to include "security scope" column

When looking at a task sequence references, it would be helpful to see the security scope for all packages so we can insure it is set correctly.

  13. Auto Phased Deployment

Scenario: Right now I have about 8000 computers that need feature updates. I don't want to update them all at one time. It would be nice to tell CM to update one big collection, but do a set number per week. For instance, create a collection of 8000 machines, and set it to update 250 per week until it is done, or set a gradual duration of say 6 months to update the whole collection. This would work great for large application deployments as well. This way, the deployment could also be stopped if problems arise.

  14. Better SCCM and WSO Co-Managment

Please add the ability for admins to use ConfigMgt and WSO together. We currently can not deploy Autodesk or Adobe via WSO due to being over 5GB and our organization is not willing to upgrade this limitation on WSO.

Please make it optional for Software Centre to be allowed to install required and available applications and packages.

  15. Report that tells me how many approvals were done in a specific time period

There should be a standard report that shows how many approvals were done over a specific time period. This is useful for my Licensing team to receive an automated report showing who requested what, when, if it was approved and if it was actually installed or not.

  16. Run CMPivot queries against site status/state messages

CMPivot queries are easy to learn and very powerful. It would be very useful to run CMPivot (ie Kusto) queries against site status/state messages.

  17. bitness of apps

Under the apps view in addition to version it would be useful to see the bitness of the app versions. For example if your doing a migration from a 64 bit app to be able to track and monitor the cleanup or target for cleanup. For example we have had a lot of Teams 32-bit getting installed and we don't want any 32-bit Teams in our environment and block it via GPO but they keep getting installed.

  18. Windows 10 20.04

After creating new deploymentshares, and then building a new 2019 deployment server. MDT can't deploy Windows 10 20.04. 6 days spent reading forums, docs and so much more. I have applied the bdd patche as requested but I still get a total failure.
Sysprep simply does not open or run. The system restarts with out running sysprep. There is nothing on the subject to help me.

  19. Co-Management Management Insights

As we move workloads to Intune, there may be an existing, legacy mechanism that prevents the workloads from successfully being enabled. A Management Insight would alert the admin, if a client scoped for co-management, was also assigned a policy that would prevent the workload from moving successfully.

    For Example:-

    1. Moving the WUfB workload to Intune.

A legacy GPO that "Disables Automatic Updates" will render updates disabled after the workload is moved to Intune - there is not an equivalent CSP that "Enables Automatic Updates" that gets pushed from Intune Policy to override/block the GPO

    1. Move Office C2R Apps to Intune

  20. Allow Device and Collection Variables to be Queries via Global Conditions/Requirements

If we allowed device variables and collection variables to be evaluated at the time of app install, it would greatly reduce the effort in Application Packaging when determining exception processes and/or complicated scenarios around Applications that need specific versions of dependent applications.
