  1. Enable partial patching if maintenance window isn't big enough

SCCM seems to calaulate the total time for an update group and then look for a maintenance window big enough to apply all the updates. I'd like to see SCCM apply as many patches as it can during a maintenance window.

  2. Policy resultant for SCEP Policy like Clients Settings Resultant

A overview about the SCEP Policy as we have in Client Settings Resultant Box on every Client, that would be nice to show which Policy is finally running on a client. if you have more than 1 Policy you get the really end result of excludes or settings...

  3. Add serial number as possible unique identifier

Currently only MAC and UUID are possible as unique identifier. I understand this is because these are the only ones sent using PXE deployments. However nowadays MAC is not necceserily unique anymore (USB to LAN adapters), so it would be nice to be able to use the machine serial number as unique identifier when booting from a USB stick for example

  4. Allow option for GPO processing during Task Sequence

Right now GPO processing is disabled during TS execution. This is annoying as quite often there's settings and environment configuration for a machine pushed by GPO, and right now they only apply at the end of the TS.

It would be nice to have an explicit "process group policy" step in a TS, which would be the equivalent of a "gpupdate /force".

  5. Add options to define "on fail" actions for package and application install

Similar to what is introduced in SP1 for patches, allow us to for example define "reboot and retry upon fail" for package and application installation.

This catches a lot of issues with installations already, as often a reboot is enough to then let the installation succeed.

  6. add a powershell possibility to add requirements to a deploymenttype of an application

At the moment it is not easy to add requirements to an application deploymenttype with PowerShell. I think many of us would benefit if this would be simplified.

  7. Hightlight the currently installing package/application in Software Center

When a user chooses to install a package from software center, the UI changes focus to the "Installation Status" tab, but currently installing package is often not the highlighted item. This has been very confusing for users as they think the highlighted item is the one being installed. Only after looking closer do they notice the status column.

  8. Simplifiy and increase visibility of the system tray icons

The system tray icons for Software Center and Software Updates are too small for most users to decipher. Most users cannot tell that the system tray icon for pending software is a package with a green or red asterisk--there us just too much detail and the asterisk it too small. Even on a desktop monitor we cannot tell what the icon is, but on a high resolution laptop, you need a magnifying glass. Please simplify the icons and make to color coded portion most of the icon.

  9. Bring back SubCollections

SCCM 2012 got rid of subcollections. You can fake it by creating collections-of-collections but they're a pain to maintain. Please bring them back.

  10. Deploy Software after initiate Shutdown

It would be nice if an Software Package is required in the Future to set a specific Time when a Software CAN be automatically installed ! E.g. : Deployment availability: NOW
Requirement Date of a Software Install: 5 Weeks
Recommended Date of a Software Install: 2 Weeks

If a Client Shutdown after the Date of Recommend Date of Software Deployment is reached SCCM have to install the Application/Update.

Lot of Customers doesn't like to reboot the PC if there is an important security issue or Preparing for a new Software Upgrade.

  11. Allow changing an application's scheduled time and available or required

With the application model we are no longer able to change the availability schedule or deadline after the application is created - or even expire it. The only way to stop a required application is to delete it, which purges the reporting data. We would like to see this changed so you are able change the deadline/avail time/or if the deployment is required or available.

  12. A Customizable Reboot/Postpone Prompt for Application and Software Updates Deployments

Basically would like something similar to the Windows Updates Reboot/Postpone nag prompt except with the ability to customize the notification text as applicable to the deployment.

For example:, as a sub-setting of the deployment type for the application you have the option to enable the reboot/postpone prompt and customize the notification text of the dialog box.

If the user that receives the prompt, postpones they will be re-prompted at the end of the postponement period until they either reboot or shutdown the system. (basically exactly the same behavior as the Windows Updates reboot/postpone prompt).

  13. add possibility to logoff user for Software Installation and prevent login during installation.

It would be great to have a possibility to create a deployment where the User would be logged off during the installation of Software. Useful for Software like Java Runtime or Adobe Pro where a running application can prevent the installation.
The User should be informed that an installation will be started and he will be logged off. The User should be not able to login during the installation.

  14. List all policy and deployment for single machine

I would like to see all the policies and deployment listed when i search for single machine, I see this in Altiris for example if i search for "pc-abcd" i should be able to tell how many applications are pushed to the machine or user.

  15. SCCM Task Sequence Lock

Enable the ability to Lock a Task Sequence once it has been released, similar to the effect when a TS is locked out to a user when editing it. In a large environment with multiple SCCM admins using OSD is you be a nice feature to prevent accidental editing of production Task Sequences.

  16. compliance items, add deployment tab to bottom pane

on the compliance item, add deployments tab with the capability of creating collection from the compliance item. You can do it on the compliance baseline but that is not sufficient as a baseline may have more than 1 CI so your target collection MAY have a mix of issues. OR just make it where you can deploy a CI in addition to baseline with same capabilities

  17. Add the ability to trend result count of a collection

Many of us deal with applications that have strict licensing. When I think of how to do it, you could do it in AI maybe and have it not do across all installed applications but have it as a possibility on a discovered application... Right click the application (TREND), that would spur the auto creation of a collection, report item, a stored procedure.... The stored procedure would simply do a count of the number of devices in the collection and write that out to the installed application trending table. So now I have the ability to not only show howā€¦

  18. Cleanup Task only for Ressources with Decommisioned=1

Actually the Maintanance Task "Delete Ages Ressources" deletes all old ressources, whatever they are really deleted or they are only inactive for a specific time. There are no Option to clean up ressoures only in the DB which are really deleted (Decomissioned=1). If a Company has a large amount of deleted ressources in a short time, but also a lot of inactive ressoures, they cannot effective cleamup the SCCM DB.

  19. SCCM Report - Easy way to create Report & Dashboard

Not really easy to create some SCCM report or Dashboard if your're not a SQL DBA .. even with Report Builder.
Could be awesome to have a new tool where Reports or Dashbaord could be created easily whithout searching which SQL views I need ..ect ... Like some others concurrent application give.

  20. Add auto remediation to a Software Update compliance baseline

At present SU compliance baselines can identify missing updates but not remediate by installing them. Please add the option to have the missing updates installed either from a DP or Microsoft Update.
