  2. Clients should automatically switch between SUPs / WSUS

Boundary awareness for SUPs / WSUS

    Example:
    - Clients do not switch automatically to Secondary Site WSUS, if the Secondary Site was installed later as the Primary Site
    - Travellers / VPN connection within the company network
    - No automatic failback if Secondary Site server was done
    etc.

  5. Support the windows server OS being upgraded on Site Servers (in place), w/o backup & recovery or migration.

Older version of windows server are falling out of support, or are deprecated for ConfigMgr current branch. i.e. Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2. Support an easy way of upgrading those operating systems to newer versions of windows server.

  6. Software Center: Add Approval Requests in the application details.

Based on the suggestion from Mark Silvey in the "Combine Software Center and Application Catalog into a Single application" thread, I decided to submit this idea on its own.

Now, with the updated Software Center, the only thing not in Software Center is the ability to do Approval Requests, and that's what's keeping me back from deploying applications that take advantage of Approval Requests.
I've told my users in the past that ConfigMgr is a split user experience, now I have to tell them you have to use the web portal for the one tiny purpose of approval. We're so…

  7. Modify the Configuration Manager prerequisites checker to look for KB 3095113 if Server 2012 or Server 2012R2 is detected

as KB 3095113 is required to do Windows 10 servicing and as WSUS 4.0 requires that hotfix in order to correctly display the Upgrades classification, the prereq checker should check for this hotfix and if it's not detected warn the user along with a URL linking to a guide explaining the correct order to install the prerequisites for the hotfix and that the hotfix needs to be installed directly after installing WSUS.

  8. Collection Query re-design request

I am looking the issue/design from SMS 2003 to SCCM 2012 version. I am not sure if any purpose must be behind of this design of collection default query select * from smsrsystem.
Whenever a user create the query based device collection, if there is any modification in the query
He/she shouldn’t remove the entire query and apply OK.
If user applies ok, its automatically select * from smsrsystem query will enabled, it will targed to all system which is “All system” as limiting collection.
It has serious issue in most the companies, deployment is performing…

  9. Please do not install Silverlight by default in vNext

Please do not install Silverlight with ConfigMgr-Client by default in vNext. The new Software Center with the integrated application catalog don't need Silverlight.

  10. PXE affinity in Configmgr

We have implemented Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1 CU1, We verified Management point affinity works however it doesn’t work for PXE and PXE point randomly selects any Management Point.

We have a lot of firewalls and several MPs.

I could see below mentioned article with a workaround for untrusted forest.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2858397
System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Client PXE boot may fail if the Management Point is in an untrusted forest

I could see similar not same feedback request
    https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas/suggestions/8417961-osd-should-not-connect-to-internet-only-manageme
OSD should not connect to "Internet-only" Management Points

It will be good idea to have PXE affinity like Management Point affinity

  11. TMG replacement for SCCM IBCM

TMG is end of life and MS has not provided an alternative yet for SCCM IBCM to manage clients over the Internet. It would be great if alternatives like F5 would be supported for IBCM setup.

  13. Fix Console performance on systems with touch devices

If you have a device with a touch screen, and/or digitizer/stylus, the Admin Console performance takes a huge performance hit on general use, and may lag for several minutes when performing simple tasks such as viewing "Users", "Devices", "Software Updates", etc. Disabling the touch devices in Device Manager result in the same action taking only several seconds. Confirmed on Surface Pro 3, HP All-In-Ones, and a variety of other devices. This issue has been reported to, AND reproduced by, our Microsoft support contact.

Example: I have a collection of around 1100 devices. If I view that on the server, or…

  14. Software Center: Support multi-select of updates in the new Software center

In the new Software center you can only install applications one after the other. In the "old" Software center you could check each application and then install them with one click.

  15. configuration manager returned a large number of results - UI request

This is really a pet peeve but bear with me. When I want to search Devices within Assets and Compliance section of the Admin console, a message appears that says "Configuration manager returned a large number of results. You can narrow your results by using search. Or, click here to view a maximum of 100000 results." The functionality of this is great, however the placement of it is EXACTLY where the search box was right before it appeared. More times than not, I'll try to click in the search box and end up clicking on this message instead and the…

  16. Option to pre-download content to client cache for 'Available' deployments

As we know, 'Required' deployments download content to client cache as soon as possible assuming content is available and req's are met. A common scenario is setting a deadline off in the future which essentially stages or pre-downloads the content to the client cache so it's available as soon as the user hits install, or the deadline is reached.

We'd like an option, per deployment, to pre-download content in a similar fashion for 'Available' deployments.

Understood that available deployments may never get executed, but there are several scenarios (poorly connected, remote offices w/no DP) where this would be extremely desirable.…

    Hi. I’m updating to status=complete for our 1706 release – https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2017/07/28/now-available-update-1706-for-system-center-configuration-manager/

Improvements for this scenario for Task Sequence/OS Deployments and OS Upgrade Packages include a new condition for language comparison and controls for selecting language rather than entering an LCID. This moves away from having to use a WMI query

These changes don’t address the asks for extending the same pre-cache functionality to Applications, SWD etc., closing this item will return your votes, please use them to add a new User Voice request

Thank you all for all your feedback and suggestions

  17. Task Sequence Editor Search

We have over 300 Groups/Steps in a couple of our task sequences. It would be really helpful to be able to search with the Task Sequence Editor. Either by step name or group name. In a perfect world it would be helpful to search descriptions or other text content within each group or step.

  18. Distribution Points are by default NOT assigned the same priority

    CURRENT FUNCTIONALITY

When a new Distribution Point (DP) whether it is a normal DP or a Pull DP is installed to a ConfigMgr 2012 R2 site, the priority assigned to this new DP is always the same by default.

    REQUEST FOR CHANGE

It is often desired that Pull DPs are by default assigned lower priority than the normal DPs.

    MORE INFORMATION

When operating a site with many (hundreds of) DPs installed, the normal DPs serve as source distribution points for the Pull DPs. It is therefore desired, that those normal DPs will have the new package files copied over before…

  19. Improved SDK Documentation

With each release of Configuration Manager the amount of documentation in the SDK has decreased. It would be really nice if the documentation could be updated and increased to actually cover everything that is available. Especially when it comes to descriptions of WMI methods/classes/etc. Where the documentation lists the class and the objects in it but doesn't describe anything beyond the field name. It would be good to have some better descriptions than just the field name or method name so that you can fully understand what the fields/method are used for.

  20. Make ConfigMgr upgrade process resilient

As of now when an enterprise thinks of upgrade, we have only one thing to do before (TestDBUpgrade). This makes sure if the DB is upgradable. But what if the Upgrade fails at the next step (Copying files). We don't have an option to again run the upgrade only from that step and running from beginning will not work as DB is already upgraded it will fail to find some objects. If this is a CAS site this means you have to again go back to a previous version and recover it and make sure the sites in the hierarchy…
