  1. Create smaller DA pilot collections in MECM

DA is able to create pilot collections in MECM for us. However it would be good if DA could break the pilot collections down into smaller collections.

This would mean that we could deploy a FU to a percentage of devices identified for pilot rather than the whole collection (or need to figure out a manual way to break the Pilot collection up into smaller chunks)

Deploying to the entire pilot collection could result in hundreds of machines with a particular application failing and requiring regression. Smaller target collections would help to build confidence

  2. Tell us why a device is included in a Pilot Collection

Identifying devices for the pilot phase is great, however it would be perfect if we could find out why a machine is included.

For example if we tag app "A" as critical it would be good to be able to see that "Device123" was included because it had critical app "A" installed.

We can then also be confident that when we deploy a new FU we have app "A" covered but also that we dont have hundreds of devices with app "A" installed too - if we break app "A" during pilot we dont really want hundreds of devices toā€¦

  4. bitness of apps

Under the apps view in addition to version it would be useful to see the bitness of the app versions. For example if your doing a migration from a 64 bit app to be able to track and monitor the cleanup or target for cleanup. For example we have had a lot of Teams 32-bit getting installed and we don't want any 32-bit Teams in our environment and block it via GPO but they keep getting installed.

  5. App Versions Details; Change behavior of slider switch

Under a Deployment plan, in the Identify importance section, The 'App versions details' slider switch, currently seems to hide non-standard versions from being visible. Editing with this option off, does not address all discovered 'Noteworthy Apps'.

I believe this switch should instead group all versions together, and apply the same actions to all versions found, then you can slid the switch on, and change an individual version if needed. instead of just skipping applying any settings to the hidden items, which is the current behavior.

  6. Powershell tie into desktop analytics

It would be nice to be able to create deployment plans using powershell. The manual process of creating individual deployment plans via the portal is time consuming, and when working with the need for multiple deployment plans targeting different collections this becomes a cumbersome process. I can currently create and populate all of my collections via powershell, but I then have to manually create each individual deployment plan.

  7. Allow pilot members added from a collection

We have an internal process to define pilot machines. All these machines are member of a collection that is synchronized to Desktop Analytics. Pls. allow to select a collections to be included in a Pilot. Microsoft recommendation can go on top.

  8. Run Desktop Analytics queries from MEMCM console (DAPivot)

You can run your own custom Desktop Analytics queries from Log Analytics portal.

It would be easier for MEMCM admins if you could create/run the same queries directory from MEMCM console under Software -> Desktop Analytics.

This new DAPivot feature could utilize CMPivot's UI ie. you could:
    - save your favorite queries
    - save the result set as collection (if showing computer names is allowed in telemetry settings)
    - export

Thus, the admins don't need to utilize a different web console for getting additional info from Desktop Analytics.

  9. Do not create folders and collections trough desktop analytics

Desktop Analytics create some folders and Device Collections (Deployment Plans, Pilot, Production, ...).

I don't need it, I like to delete or at least to move this folders, do not re-create this folders and collections daily.

  12. Drill Down On Graphs

when in desktop analytics it would be good if you could click on the orange or red parts of the graphs and drill down to see the clients that need attention and updated with latest updates etc. e.g. see the names of the clients needing updates.

  14. Troubleshoot Enrolled Devices

on the Home page you show enrolled devices out of number of devices but you don't show what devices are having issues?

How are you supposed to fix these devices if you don't know what devices are having issues?

  16. Owner

Owner should be selectable from Azure-AD in the "Manage all assets-table".

Owner is very useful in order to keep track of who's responsible for testing. But it's hard to remember everyone's name in a large organization. You should be able to browse for the owner in Azure-AD when you edit an applicaion.

  17. Desktop Analytics Bandwidth impact

What network traffic and/or bandwidth impact will the Desktop Analytics tool generate when collecting and sending information to Azure.

Can this be enabled over a VPN connection?

    Cheers

  18. Support Guest Access on Desktop Analytics

Support the ability to grant access to guest or external AAD users to Desktop Analytics.

Currently getting the error "Authentication error. Refresh the page and try again. If this issue persists contact support and provide this id: f46e5d97-4394-4d1c-b605-e082c5efea75." when trying to access DA with an external account even though it's member of AAD Group "M365 Analytics Client Admin"

  19. Custom Readiness Rules

Low install count is a great start, but we'd like see automation for the current extremely manual process of Importance by including additional rules such as:
    - Adoption Status: Highly Adopted AND Compatibility Risk: Low= Automatically set importance to Not Important

These metrics are great, but they really need to be available for custom readiness rules. Large enterprises such as ours cannot currently utilise this service due to the sheer amount of manual process. We can't keep up with the new application versions coming in daily and then wait for the subsequent data crunching, only to be greeted with moreā€¦

  20. Enable Desktop Analytics for non-profits with Enterprise Mobility + Security E3

As a small and medium non-profit we cannot afford Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 as wee grow. We do get licenses for Enterprise Mobility + Security E3, which gives Intune + update compliance but I would love to monitor the health of my org devices. Is this something already available? I couldn't find any info on this.
