  1. Metered Connection Specific Settings

It would be useful if we could have more granular control over Meter Connection client settings. For example ideally we'd like to set custom bandwidth settings and perhaps a data use limits to control costs. A single toggle with 3 options is quite limiting.

  2. Client Settings on Boundary Groups

I'd like to see the option of deploying custom client settings directly to boundary groups so that we can provide bespoke settings based on a particular site. I'm not aware of a method to create a collection based on a boundary group but having the option to assign client settings directly to a BG would be useful.

  3. Sccm reads windows security logs at startup

The sccm client startup process is very heavy. On our machines we have a very demanding security baseline which gives us a huge windows security eventlog. Reading out this eventlog alone takes over 30 seconds at 25% CPU which makes the startup process of the computers even slower than it is. As we understand it SCCM reads pretty much the entire security log every time the service is started. Even if it's started twice in 30 minutes for whatever reason. We aren't sure what the point is of reading out 100MB of security logs, but it seems a waste. We'dā€¦

Thank you for your feedback. Do you have user device affinity enabled in your environment? If you do, is it configured to automatically determine affinity? Changing user device affinity configuration may reduce this overhead.

    For more information, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/apps/deploy-use/link-users-and-devices-with-user-device-affinity

We will consider looking into ways to improve this in the future.

  4. Required Restart if User does not Snooze

I don't know why this is such a problem to communicate. I just want end-users to be able to snooze restarts up to a defined maximum period of time (including 'indefinitely'). The latest (2006) update now lets me do that with the "Configuration Manager can force a device to restart" set to "No" which now will present a prompt to the user that they can snooze all they want.....but I can't force a restart if no user is actually there to snooze.

This is simple: I want to force a restart. IF a user is logged on, I want themā€¦

  5. Add ability to set a time for when Client Settings are deployed

The ability to set a time (similar to a deadline on a software deployment) in which a deployed custom client settings would become enabled would be a wonderful feature. Consider a scenario in which a custom client setting is created with the following settings:

    State Messages every 5 minutes
Computer Restart: amount of time after deadline to restart = 2 minutes
If I have a deployment with a deadline of 10pm, deploying this custom client setting to a collection at 3pm would not be very wise. But, if the ability to deploy the client settings with a configurable "take effectā€¦

  6. Discovery Data Cycle at boot

Add a setting which would allow customers to configure clients to perform a Heartbeat Discovery/Discovery Data Collection cycle every time the system boots. This would help ensure that details like the client's Operating System Build number gets updated in the MECM DB promptly after upgrades in place/Feature Release updates without requiring customers to configure their Heartbeat Discovery to run at frequent intervals, which might be more detrimental in environments with large numbers of clients. Customers often create Collections for deploying Applications/Packages/settings changes to Devices based on the OS Build Version (e.g. customizations specific to the new OS version currently beingā€¦

  8. Control cleanmgr.exe with Client Config

It would be very cool to control the Control cleanmgr.exe via client configuration, this would make cleaning easier for all clients and no longer require a separate task

  9. Add option to "Suspend BitLocker PIN entry on restart" to suspend PIN entry when user initiates restart

Currently, when "Suspend BitLocker PIN entry on restart" is set to Always, if the user initiates the restart Bitlocker PIN entry will not be suspended. This makes sense if we assume that the user is sitting at their computer when they trigger the restart. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we currently have many users accessing their onprem computers via RDP. If ConfigMgr prompts them to reboot and they click reboot over RDP, there computer will reboot and prompt for PIN entry, requiring the user to physically go in to the office and enter the PIN.

Bitlocker Network Unlock would likely beā€¦

  10. BitLocker Network Unlock via CM Client Peer

Create a Client Setting that would turn the CM Client into a BitLocker Network Unlock proxy agent. This would really enable the powerful BitLocker Network Unlock feature to be widely used and adopted in the enterprise, as the current WDS method is limited.

  12. Changing Internet-based MP of SCCM client

Rather than having to change the Internet-based Management Point for the SCCM client manually, it would be good to have a way to change them all automatically.

We attempted to make changes using the process under CCMHOSTNAME in the URL below but couldnā€™t make it work.

  13. Ability to Enable/Disable Custom Client Settings policies in CM console

Currently, if you want to deploy a custom client setting policy, it requires a deployment to a collection. If you have a policy deployed to multiple collections and you then want to make a change that policy, you have to delete all the existing deployments, which ends up losing all previous "deployment history" for that setting, or you have to lower the priority for that setting, which can cause confusion especially if you do not want the previous policy to be used, period.

Adding an Enable/Disable toggle on the custom client policy would allow us to retain custom client settingā€¦

  14. rate limits for client, instead or BITS throttling Transfer rate

It would be super cool to set rate limits for Transfer to Clients in Clients settings, instead of setting hardcoded Throttling Transfer rate as we have. Because it is hard to figure out what are the Transfer possibility from a DP to a Device, if we can have the same setting for rate limits as we have in DP properties where the transfer calculation is build implace.

  15. Ability to inventory machines with multiple IPs

hardware inventory not able to collect the details for "Network_Data" from the clients when the machine has multiple IPs,

The IPAddress00 field is defined as varchar(255), the field length prevents us from collecting all the IP details when the combined length of IP addresses in that machine exceeds 255.

    thanks.

  16. KMS over CMG

This is a whacky idea, but how cool would it be if we could use the CMG to handle KMS requests from clients? It would allow devices that are never on site to receive product licenses through the management channel that we're already using.

  17. ability to modify the software center toast notications in configmgr as per the Organisation requirement

Every organization will have their own way to convey the message to their end point users with Software updates/Application install or OSD upgrades.

So Organization can be given opportunity to amend these notification s as per the requirement.

can this be verified and implemented.

  19. Prevent maintenance mode on Scom Servers

Pausing the Opsmgr Agent on a Scom server is not a good idea. Unfortunately it can happen by accident if you deploy something to all servers and set the Opsmgr option in the deployment settings. It would be great to have the possibility to deactivate the functionality in client settings, or even better the SCCM agent would be so smart to detect scom servers and not to pause the agent there.

  20. sccm client icon must always visible in system tray, so that users can see that updates are available to install

Because many of my users only logon once a week after the weekend. If updates are available for install this users only see a message when they logon after the weeked and this only for a few seconds. I would like that my users can see all the time that updates are available just as it was whit wsus and the windows update icon
