  1. CMG reset feature

I've experienced this situation on a few customer sites. I've been unable to "fix" a broken Cloud Management Gateway which was previously working. On these occasions the easiest way to resolve is to remove and re-deploy the CMG. This always fixes the problem but seems a little extreme. I'd like to see a CMG reset feature (along the same lines of the site reset feature) which resets the CMG services and permissions instead of having to remove it.

  2. Support Center Advanced Log File Viewer Advanced Filtering

It would be great if in the new Suppert Center Advanced Log File Viewer, there would be an option for Advanced Filters, when opening a log file, the filters load automatically and we dont need to load them manually everytime we open a log.
Same as with the other buttons, that can be activated and deactivated.

  3. Whether Active Directory minimum functional level is Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

There is conflict between two documents about AD minimum functional level:
In the post https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/configs/support-for-active-directory-domains , it says minimum functional level is Windows Server 2008.
However in the post https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/deploy/install/list-of-prerequisite-checks , minimum functional level is Windows Server 2008 R2.

Our customer want to confirm whether Windows Server 2008 Functional Level is supported. Also, whether it is supported if the customer is using Domain Controller OS 2012 R2, but with a domain functional level of 2008.

    Thank you.

  4. Lock down of Good Client Health State for later restores

Client health issues are one of main pain areas admins deals. Post client install, registration, policy download succeeds, client should create a golden state of its own on WKS and similarly one golden info of client at SCCM server level also in DB in separate table or so,... in case of client broken situation, using these two copies we can restore back. This way may prove much better than current situation where enormous amount of time, dealing different components with still no guarantee to fix it.

  6. Ensure Tables v_ClientDownloadHistoryDP_BG and table ClientDownloadHistory have correct start time data with client.

Currently the tables v_ClientDownloadHistoryDP_BG and table ClientDownloadHistory have correct start time data with client. It does not match when a client downloads a package either from the DP our cloud DP and it's very hard to match the data. As per the escalation engineer, this is by design?

  7. use Reliability Monitor/SystemStabilityIndex in inventory, client health and cmpivot

System Reliability Monitor is the integrated Windows 10 Troubleshooting tool which is a filter to the eventlog, looking at performance and stability related information
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/technet-magazine/dd362384(v=msdn.10)
For example you can find out since you installed a driver or app the system gets unstable

this data should be used in #configmgr client health, inventory and cmpivot

There is an number, the SystemStabilityIndex

    get-wmiobject Win32_ReliabilityStabilityMetrics -property "SystemStabilityIndex" | select-object -first 1 SystemStabilityIndex

Based on that we could create collections of good and bad performing machines or query cmpivot

  10. Windows 10 ADK Timeline parity with SCCM Build Releases to Support 30 Month Fall Release Support Cycle

It would appear at a high level that adjustments were not made to coordinate support timelines across the architecture of components for SCCM, Example, while extending Windows 10 1709 Ent. support to 30 months, I would expect the ADK to be supported with the Configuration Manager release 1810, (1903, 1909, etc.) to maintain parity with bug fixes.

    Thanks for your feedback.

For ADK support we always support N-1 i.e. current and previous version. This is the matrix we use for testing each release and forms this statement – https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/core/plan-design/configs/support-for-windows-10#windows-10-adk

Each ADK can be used to deploy current and earlier versions of Windows 10. Between releases (either SCCM or ADK) there’s no fundamental change with how we interface.

Can you elaborate some more on what your request is here, please?

    Thanks and regards

  11. Have ccmeval fix a corrupt GPO cache file

With 8000+ workstations we regularly see a corrupt GPO cache file. This breaks the policy updates, including policies for SCCM (security) updates.
    Detection:
    - Event log
    - gpudate command fails with error
    Remediation:
    - Delete file c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine\registry.pol
    - Run gpudate /force
    - Restart ccmexec service

  12. Application troubleshooting information

When we need to troubleshoot application model deployment issues, you need to find, Application CI_Unique_ID, DeploymentType ID's, Deployment ID's and ContentID's.
There are several different ways to get all these information. But there is no easy way. Either you need to search around in the console, adding new columns, or you need to run the console in debug mode to get those information. Unfortunately, all of these methods are difficult to low-level support agents. So it would be very nice to have a right click option in the console for applications, to get all information that is needed including dp'sā€¦

  13. Add log file information when opening a log in CMTrace

It would be great to see a tooltip or option in the cmtrace toolbar to get more details about a log file. For example when opening EPCtrlMgr.log I see a tooltip with the description of the log file "Records information about the syncing of malware threat information from the Endpoint Protection site system role server with the Configuration Manager database."

  14. Use the Migration Manager account for all Migration-related tasks

During CM-migration from source to target sites the Migration Manager account is not entirely used. Instead, the machine account of the target site server is used to access objects and source files in the source site, like Images, Boot-Images and Driver Packages. Thus, when migrating cross Domian without AD-Trust, we cannot migrate these objects due to access errors. This is truly annoying. If the Migration Manager account from the source domain would be used consequently, there won't be this problem.

  15. ignore bad battery when on power supply

Would like Config Manager to ignore a bad battery if the device is running on Power Supply. Today a lot of things stop working with Config Manager if the device has a bad battery, logfiles says Battery Critical=TRUE

  16. Addition of Aritificial Intelliegence(AI) feature to SCCM client can be next big thing

If developers can add AI features to SCCM client, it can be next big thing in Configuration Manager.

I think with help of AI:
    1) SCCM client can understand nature of connectivity. If laptop is connected to public WiFi or home or customer network, IBCM client installed on that laptop connects to DMZ placed IBCM server only irrespective of whether laptop has VPN tunnel established to corporate network or it has successful DA connection etc.

    2) Can able to figure it out maximum reason of client health issue.

    3) Can able to figure out patch deployment installation failure issue.

    4)ā€¦

  18. How do I troubleshoot Windows Defender Application Guard policy?

I implemented WDAG via group policy easily.
Switched to ConfigMgr control of it and I cannot get it to work. Trying to manage the exclusions, etc. I cannot roll back (only on my machine) I deleted the deployment. how can I tell what configmgr is doing on a client regards updating wdag settings, etc?
the documentation refers to group policy controlled wdag, but the terms are different.
Anyway, I'm not an idiot, but I don't understand how it's working/not working. I'm sure it's amazing, but I'm missing something.

  19. CMTrace Toggle in Software Center

The ability to toggle split pane cmtrace in Software Centre. I like to see whatā€™s going on when Iā€™m patching, the ability to toggle a CMTrace pane showing tabs for the relevant client logs during patching e.g wuhandler.log, updateshandler.log, statemessage.log

  20. Infrastructure health Dashboard

I would love to see a infrastructure health dashboard. A go to location for making sure all MPs, SUPs, DBs etc. are healthy, rather than having to go through system statuses in the console. Perhaps have some tiles that show how many endpoints are hitting each MP, SUP as well.
