Show downloading Software Updates in SW Center
Earlier Versions of ConfigMgr showed the download process of Software Updates in the SW Center. It seems that this is not working anymore. Updates are displayed once they downloaded completely

Stop installing old Software Center when reinstalling a CM Client
This would safe a lot of Time.

Ability to group Software Center applications into folders
Add ability to define a category for applications and programs in Config Mgr and have them appear in Software Center under that category. We have several hundred programs in our system and users have a hard time finding what they need.

Add a Right-Click option "Sync Policies" to Software Center Start menu icon
The Company Portal app you can right-click on the Start Menu shortcut and select "Sync this Device". Can we please get that option for Software Center as well, it would make ServiceDesks life easier instead of navigating them to the icon within Software Center

Make "install" action available through softwarecenter: protocol link
The feature was basically already requested back in 2016 but wasn't implemented to date.
The old request can be found @ https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas/suggestions/13617639-software-center-add-support-for-direct-link-to-apMark Silvey wanted me to share our use-case so that others can chime in, so here I am.
(skip to TL;DR for the actual feature request)
Following scenario is currently happening at my workplace: We have over 4000 clients and about 1500 of them have "Cisco AnyConnect" installed as VPN client. That includes notebooks and regular computers used for homeoffice.
Now we need to update "Cisco AnyConnect" to a new version. Sadly the update (.msi file) will basically…

Software Center - Allow custom icon for scclient.exe
Would be great to set a custom icon for the scclient.exe file to allow custom branded icons for the Software Center (like how Jamf allows customizing the Self Service.app).

Open Company Portal for required deployment notifications
When receiving notifications for required deployments such as software updates, the link to view more information still opens in Software Center even though the default portal is set to Company Portal. With the merging of SW Center and Company Portal, this would continue to help things be unified. Thanks!

Would be good to be able to categorise software into different use groups
1/Would be good to be able to categorise software into different groups to make it easier for the user to find what they require (For example Analysing Software, Browsers, etc)
2/Have a field to explain what the software does (save the user having to web search products)1 vote -
Drive Selection
Allow users to select the installation drive of an application.

New Application Install Notifications
I'd like to see some more dynamic notifications in the way Software Center communicates to users.
For example, a device pending a restart seems to just sit with a status of waiting to install - could this be changed so that if a device is pending a restart either through ConfigMgr or the reboot flag on the device a user message is displayed advising users to reboot and retry.
There are occasions in application installs, inplace upgrades where ConfigMgr is doing exactly what it should do but presents the user with a failure message rather than a more appropriate user…

Device is not applicable (Human readable error)
When adding dependencies to an application in ConfigMgr, there is no way of giving the user an informational error message if requirements are not met. The user will simply see “This software is not applicable to your device.”
We need to use dependencies on an application that require Adobe Acrobat Pro / Reader to be installed. The problem is that the customer has multiple versions of Acrobat Pro/Reader, so we cannot automatically install it.
If we could display a more informational error message to the customer: “Please install the appropriate Adobe Acrobat Pro / Reader first from Software Center to…

Change Configuration Manager restarts computer TO Configuration Manager controls restart AND support the Site Control List return codes
Currently, when a Program option is set to 'Configuration Manager restarts computer', the return code is evaluated for 0 or non-zero only. A return of 0 restarts the computer whereas a non-zero is considered a failure and does not reboot the computer. The Site Control List already has Success, SuccessRebootRequired and FailureNonRetry return codes defined. I'm guessing they are used for Applications but they should also be used for Programs.
Please change the 'After running' option from 'Configuration Manager restarts computer' to 'Configuration Manager controls restart' and support the Site Control List return codes.
** Maybe change Configuration Manager logs…

Display or Reinstall Users Previously Installed Applications in Software Center
We have moved to making more and more applications available to user collections for a self-service model of application deployment. We still have multiple request for direct assignment to devices so users dont have to find and install their applications in Software Center.
It would be great if Software Center could display applications that users installed and previously installed on retired devices. This would get us one step closer to providing that similar experience to the mobile devices.

Show installed Updates in "Update" tab
make currently installed Updates in the update section in the softwarecenter visible. That makes it a lot easier to find out what updates (MS or third party) is currently installed. For the admin and the user.

Software Center Policy
Move the software center "Sync Policy" button from beind nested under options to Applications, Updates, and Operation Systems. Having this Sync Policy button visible under these tabs would make the user experince so much simpler.

Software Center Default Update filter
There is a Client setting for Software Center Customization where the "Default application filter" can be set to All or Required.
I think the same option should be available for the Updates tab in Software Center.
Having the ability to configure the "Default update filter" to Required would eliminate the accidental installation of updates deployed as available.
There have been more than a few occasions when users have clicked the Install All button not realizing that they were installing an available update. It is kind of a thing when they realize one of them was a feature update.

Link texts are not showing up in Software Center.
I read somewhere else that that feature is no longer functional due because Application Catalog was retired. Please update the documentation if this is true.

Software center says "downloading" for clients on subnets not defined in boundaries
Just like the title says. When clients reside on a subnet not defined in boundaries, the deploy stays in a "downloading" state forever. This is not accurate. The deploy is not downloading. Please raise a meaningful error message that indicates the deploy has failed and to contact your administrator to add a new boundary.
