  1. App Approval - Include User ā€œcommentsā€ in Email

The new App Approval feature in 1810 is looking great. So we can build on integration with other services and service desk software it would be handy to include the users ā€œcommentā€ in the email body.
Expanding on this and having the ability to add a ā€œcostā€ and ā€œbilling codeā€ field to the app request will enable the app procurement lifecycle to more streamlined.

  2. Remove the need for App Catalog, by providing all functionality in Software Center

Currently, some functionality is only available in the application catalog, and not in software center. Make it so everything can be done in software center, so we can remove application catalog... and Silverlight... and local site security configurations.

  3. Give us an option for Appx Provisioning Deployment

ConfigMgr supports .appx deployment, but sometimes we want these on every user that signs into the machine. These machines may be on metered connections and not have a stable connection at the time to redownload the appx file. DISM lets us do this by hand and calls it provisioning. This is a long and complicated process when deploying to 1000's of machines.

Currently SCCM pushed Windows Modern Applications can only installed into the current users profile even if the deployment is targeted at the machine.

Can we get the option in SCCM for if we want the APPX provisioned forā€¦

  6. Qucik Deployment for a single application to a single machine

I'd like to be able to do a quick deployment to a single machine. Similar to how EMCO Remote installer and PDQ Deploy works. I right-click on the target machine and click on install. I guess this would be similar to installing the ConfigMgr Client by right-clicking on a machine.

  7. Application approval for a DEVICE collection

Currently Configmgr supports Administrative approval for an application only on USER collections. I'd like it to also support this on DEVICE collections. We base our deployments on Devices rather than users. I would like some kind of approval process for certain applications.

  8. Prevent Cache Limit from Causing Application Deployment Failure

Once the cache has been filled all subsequent application deployments fail until the cache self-cleans. In CAS.log you see that the client is refusing to download the content because the cache, not the actual disk, is full.

This strikes me as a non-optimal design choice if the goal is to successfully install applications. If I want to install an application I do not want it to fail because of an artificial limit that until very recently was set at the time of client install. Most of the time the cache clears in 24 hours and there's no problem but thereā€¦

  9. Ring based deployment model in Application Deployment? It would be helpful if we have a similar to Windows 10

It would be good if we are able to have a ring based model for Application Deployment and management as we have for Windows 10 CB rollout with early adopters ring, Pilot ring, Production ring . This will help a lot as we are seeing the benefit of the ring model in Windows 10 Deployment.

  11. Increase max length of Package/Program Command Line

The max is currently 260 characters for a package/program command line. This means a lot of things that could be a single powershell or cmd.exe line end up needing content for a .ps1 or .cmd file. Please increase the max to 2048-ish characters so more can get done in one line without content.

  12. Support enabling App-V for Windows 10 Anniversary edition

Now that App-V is included, it would be good if there was a way to automatically enable App-V in anniversary edition if an App-V application is deployed, or allow configuration using client settings

  13. Application Deployment Types - Windows Server 2016 OS choice

SCCM currently doesn't list Windows Server 2016 as an OS choice from within "Deployment Types" and more specifically at the "Requirements" tab when Operating System is used as a prerequisite. This is a must have in order to be able to target specific applications and deployments only over Windows Server 2016 instances.

At this time even SCCM 1607 doesn't support this as a choice.

  14. Software Center - Highlight relevant item after user clicks "new software is available" notification

    Scenario:
    - End user receives a "new software is available notification' (balloon/toast)
    - End user clicks the notification
    - Software Center opens and shows the "Applications" tab

There is no indication which is the new item where the notification refers too. The user needs to look for any new items in a potentially large list.

It would be nice if the relevant item would be highlighted and/or (temporarily) be listed somewhere on top of the list.

  15. Software Center: Change Software Center to display Package Name as well as Program Name

It seems that Software Center is using the program name to populate packages within the interface. Many admins create a package with a package name that relates to the product being installed but then create program with a name 'Install' or 'Uninstall'.

When the deployment is available in the Software Center it can be confusing for the end user to know what software is to be installed.

Ideally both Package Name and Program Name should displayed in the Software Center.

  16. Add tile vs list display option on the SW Center Applications tab.

Currently entries in the Applications tab in Software Center are displayed in tile mode. This is not practical when having a lot of entries.

It would be good to have an option to switch between a list view and the current tile view.

  17. Fix Supercedence behavior

This is definitely in the catagory of a bug or design change.

    Consider this scenario:
    * app A deployed to a number of machines via required deployment
    * app a Version 2.0 comes out, we create a supersedence for the old app
    * deploy Version 2.0 to a small collection with an 'Available' Deployment
    * witness in horror as machines automatically begin applying the updated version
    * check the deployment after the fact and discover that a check box of ''Automatically upgrade any superceded versions of this application' has now appeared in the deployment, and is forced checked.

    No whereā€¦

  18. chained installation of Applications

We have certain applications which needs to be installed together. Like 30 to 40 MSi files related to same application. One of the MSI files is main application and rest of them have to be installed in a sequence. Currently we can do this sequence installation by creating dependencies of application to another application and thus creating a chain. But if anyone application fails to install in the chain, remaiinign applications fail to install. It also not possible to see in the GUI of software center to check which application failed. We have to go to log files to know this.

  19. Software Center: Add Approval Requests in the application details.

Based on the suggestion from Mark Silvey in the "Combine Software Center and Application Catalog into a Single application" thread, I decided to submit this idea on its own.

Now, with the updated Software Center, the only thing not in Software Center is the ability to do Approval Requests, and that's what's keeping me back from deploying applications that take advantage of Approval Requests.
I've told my users in the past that ConfigMgr is a split user experience, now I have to tell them you have to use the web portal for the one tiny purpose of approval. We're soā€¦

  20. Software Center: Support multi-select of updates in the new Software center

In the new Software center you can only install applications one after the other. In the "old" Software center you could check each application and then install them with one click.
