  1. Application request email to use Givenname and Surname from Active Directory

Would be nice if the email sent to the one approving the request could fetch the GivenName from maybe Active Directory if you have this possibility, so instead of, or make a choice between the two:

USERNAME (Domain\Username) Would like to install APPXXXX On device with title CNDXXXXXX.

    Could be:

Givenname Surname (Domain\Username) Would like to install APPXXXX On device with title CNDXXXXXX.

    The reason?
In my organisation, i would like some application request the be approved by persons, which might not always be able to check which user is behind a specific username, and only knows them by their…

  2. Show application icon rather than generic icon in console

If an icon has been assigned to an app, display it in the application node rather than the generic icon.

  3. Create MS Edge deployment without internet

Actually, is it impossible to deploy MS Edge on management computer without internet: It doesnt't look like you're connected to the internet :

Please close the wizard, check your connection and try again.
Failed to create and establish connection to https://aka.ms/cmedgeapi

Is it possible to add the feature with manual download or add remote download from sccm server like windows update ?

  4. Support to Deploy Applications in Running Operating System Over PXE

For brand new OEM Devices, we need to redeploy OS to allow and configure based on users choices. If we able to manage deployment with PXE then it could save the time and efforts towards every deployment. After asking users to configure OOBE, we can execute further tasks with Task Sequence. I think SCCM with these ability provide flexibility.

Many times we have seen Software center properly not responding. In this case if any users need to install the apps or any custom settings he has to wait for longer time until it get fixed. Addition of support for running…

  5. ActiveSetup in SCCM :

    Active Setup in SCCM.
    - Execution of application packages in the user context.
Example configuration of the user profile (registry, user policy, user profil file, etc.).
    - Resumption of parameters during Windows 10 upgrade (SAC)

  6. Moving application between folders does not inherit security scope on folder.

When moving applications to a different folder, the application should inherit the folder security scope. I have to manually modify the security scope for the moved application. This is on 1906 build.

  8. Please add an option to be able to pause Application deployments!!!

Once Application deployments go out, you cannot stop them.

With Package deployments you can at least expire them if an issue arises, and save the data relating to that deployment. Once the Application deployment is deleted, you lose all the data of the affected machines.

  9. Option to delete install cache of Application after successful install

SCCM Task Sequences and Application Groups have option to delete install cache after install. Can we have the same for Single Applications, rather than having to create Task\Application sequences? Sometimes I just need to deploy a single app to a collection and want the install cache to be removed after a successful install, and not have it take up valuable disk space as some Apps we deploy are 20GB+ in size.

  10. Test deployment

It could be great to get a feature that lets us make test deployments.
E.g. so we can test supersedence without stopping the old deployment.

Today if I want to test a deployment of an application that should supersede another, I have to actually supersede the old application to test the process of detection, uninstall, install, detection.

I have an update for an application that has to be installed on several classroom computers and tested towards an updated test server.
With the test several weeks ahead of deployment, the old version should continue to install for anyone in need of…

  11. MS Edge Extension Management

It would be great if Microsoft allowed for the management of Edge extensions in the SCCM console. It would be great to (1) collect information about the extensions in use, (2) designate certain extensions as allowed, (3) block known extensions.

This is already possible in Chrome by using Google's cloud management solution and we'd really like to be able to more granularly manage Edge without another management silo.

  12. Additional columns when showing deployment types

Additional columns within the application Deployment Type tab. I'd like to be able to add/remove columns for fields such as:
    -Content Location
    -Installation Program
    -Uninstall Program
    -Product Code
    -Detection Method
-User Experience (Behavior, logon requirement, Max Run Time)
    -Requirements
-Dependencies (Expanded, view array of all dependencies or dependency names would be nice)

  13. Office 365 Application creation configures uninstall string with xml and supplies icon

Currently when building an Office C2R application within Configuration Manager you get the ability to configure all of your installation settings. But when the application is built it doesn't come with an uninstall string and thus no uninstall.xml file. Additionally, It would be great to have the process populate an icon for the application within Software Center.

  14. Deployment prerequisites e.g. check for pending reboot

I would like to see options to have the ConfigMgr client check for prerequisite.
    E.g. pending reboot.
I am about to deploy Office 2019, at the silent setup fails if there is a pending reboot.
If the client could check for pending reboots before running a deployed installation, it would result in fewer failures.
If a prerequisite is not met, the client should move on to other deployments and return to the first, rechecking the prerequisites.
If the prerequisite is "no pending reboots", the client should wait till a reboot has been made.

Other prerequisites could be battery level, connection…

  15. Packages that are larger than the Cache size should have a feature to increase the cache size as part of the package and automatically reduc

Application Packages that are larger than the Cache size on the computer should have a feature to increase the cache size as part of the package and automatically reduce the size when the package is installed. E.X. Cache size of the computer is 10240MB, Adobe Creative Cloud is 18000MB packaged in SCCM. SCCM should have an option or the ability to tell the computer cache to increase for this application so that it can install when pushed, then once it is installed reduce it back to the 10240MB size.

  16. Install Behavior for Available Deployments force close applications

Install Behavior for Available Deployments does not force close referenced applications.
We should have the option so force close them like it happens on Required Deployments or -even better- provide a script to do the cleanup before the deployment runs.

  17. Improve email application approvals

Improve email application approvals to show the email address that get's the approval email after the deployment has been created. You can't see it in the deployment via GUI or via powershell. Also, please add the option to set the email via powershell (New-CMApplicationDeployment). We want to use this feature, but not having a way to automate it or report on our current deployments makes it sort of a non-starter as we are currently automating deployments.

  18. Deploy Repair Action in Deployment Settings

It would be great to have the option to deploy a Repair Action in the Deployment Settings within the Deploy Software Wizard. Purpose of this would be remediation of failed application installs. (eg force a repair script to run "required" on a collection of devices where standard deployment failed).

  19. Deployment settings -- Required -- Deploy software ONLY to the user's primary device

DEployment Settings -- Purpose: required -- [checkbox] Deploy software ONLY to the user's primary device.

Please Please, we are managing software deployment on user centric approach, it is a nightmare to build a whole substructure of device collections to make the real deployment and then query for primary devices of this user collection. I t will help a lot on collection evaluation too and I bet it will improve the overall performance of sccm server. Of course it's always posible to make a new deployment as available to another collection of users if needed, or even included the mandatory collection…

  20. Support Powershell as an application type for Application Deployment Types

Please consider adding deployment type of 'Powershell Script' for application deployments.

SCCM has the ability to adjust the Powershell Execution Policy for it's scripts only. This allows powershell to be used for things like detection methods.

However, if you want to actually install something using powershell there is no mechanism to allow this to happen. The only type of installation that you can used to run powershell is 'Script'. Since this isn't known to SCCm as powershell, it does not obey the client configured Execution Policy.

This causes problem when attempting to deploy applications like the new Edge based on…
