  1. Allow CMPivot to search for hidden files

Utilizing CMPivot attempting to search for the presence of a file returns no results even when I know the file is there. Upon inspection of the actual powershell script that ran on the machine, I noticed that the line that calls "Get-Item" does NOT include the "-Force" parameter. The file is hidden, thus will never be returned in the results list.

Why can I not use CMPivot on files that are hidden? Is that by design or is it a bug?

  2. Allow Multiple Custom Tabs in Software Center

With 1806 we have the ability to add a custom tab to Software Center. This makes this the place to go for all your IT needs.

We would like to see this extended further by allowing admins to add more than one tab to Software Center. Hopefully our users would never need to leave Software Center for their IT experience in Windows with this feature.

  3. PowerShell Cmdlet for Modifying Nested Task Sequence (Get/Set-CMTSStepRunTaskSequence)

It would be very helpful to have a cmlet that will allow you to modify the "Run Task Sequence" with PowerShell.

I'd like to be able to script replicating an entire task sequence "suite" (including all of the nested sequences) and re-linking the new nested sequences.

My use case is something like this:
I want to start development work on a new build revision. The script would duplicate the production sequences (both parent and children) and repoint the "Run Task Sequence" steps to new "DEV" child sequences.

This would automate the process and ensure that none of the production sequences…

  4. Integrate /ResetBase and WIM Optimization/Exporting into Offline Servicing

In the interest in making my OS deployment task sequences as fast and as optimized as possible, I always optimize WIM files anytime they're updated or re-created.

In my build/capture task sequence, I add a step at the very end before capture to run DISM /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase so that all of the superseded updates are removed from the base image before it is captured. This results in a smaller WIM file and obviously, faster deployment times.

With the built-in Offline Servicing option for OS images, once new updates are added, they remain in the component store of the image when…

  6. CMPivot Web Portal

We have a lot of people who would love to run queries against our systems (Desktop Support admins for example) that we do not give direct console access to. It would be super helpful to have a web-based interface for CMPivot to allow people an easy method to execute queries.

In addition, a query builder like that of Azure Log Analytics would be helpful as well so we don't have to walk them thru how to write all there queries.

  7. Support for custom table synchronization into Data Warehouse

Issue: Support for custom table synchronization into Data Warehouse

Currently, although a method exists to extend tables that can be imported into the Data Warehouse, we learnt recently that this is not supported. We feel this represents a gap with the following impacts:
    - Not all tables from the SCCM database are currently synced into the DW. Even a common AI table like InstallSoftwareData must be synced via this custom process. This is a table used heavily in AI based software title reporting and therefore a common addition to the DW.
    - Custom inventory tables – inventory extension/customization…

  9. Support center online documentation

It would be great to have an up to date documentation
Currently, it is pointing to ConfigMgr 2012.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/system-center/system-center-2012-R2/dn688621(v=technet.10)
The tool is available with CB 1810.

  10. CMPivot - Additional operators and joins

I'd like to see a few things added to CMPivot after having a chance to use it recently.
    1. Joins: Would be really useful to be able to join data from different entities, like joining process data with the device data to be able see what makes and models are running a specific process that may have a memory leak issue.

    1. Additional Operators: Would be nice to be able to do a math operation on data that comes back, convert memory values to MB/GB with division, etc.

  11. App Approval - Include User “comments” in Email

The new App Approval feature in 1810 is looking great. So we can build on integration with other services and service desk software it would be handy to include the users “comment” in the email body.
Expanding on this and having the ability to add a “cost” and “billing code” field to the app request will enable the app procurement lifecycle to more streamlined.

  12. Unify Powershell Functionality

The recent Powershell features like 'Run Script' and allowing them to be added directly to a Task Sequence step are fantastic, but things are beginning to feel somewhat fragmented.

It would be great if SCCM had a central script repository, maybe backed by git, that we could pull scripts from as opposed to adding them.

This would allow us to easily use the same code in a Task Sequence and a 'Run Script' without having to maintain it in multiple places. Perhaps we could even add a special Powershell Script Package Program type that would pull a script from the…

  13. Ability to specify the keyboard layout in the Boot Images properties

I know we can use the DISM command to set the input locale but from my point of view it should exist a field in the Boot Image properties where you could specify the layout you want.

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions.

Updating status to completed – see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/core/understand/find-help#send-a-suggestion for an explanation of each status.

This is the opt-in phase of our 1910 release (fast ring) and it is now live. Customers can opt-in and then download 1910 through their Admin Console now. In a couple weeks, we’ll open it up to everybody (slow ring), to enable downloading without the need to opt-in.

  15. Bug & Solution // Error The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'v_WindowsServicingStates'

    Windows Server 2016
SCCM just upgraded to SCCM CB 1806

When i run the Report "Lifecycle 01A - Computers with a specific software product" and i select "Windows 10, version 1703" it throws an error:
Error The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'v_WindowsServicingStates'
It Works fine if I for example select "Windows 8.1"

I could reproduce it both environments - Test and Live.

    Solution:
smsschmusers had no rights on the view 'vWindowsServicingStates' for select
set it manually, then it works

  16. To be able to send wake up packet to a client from the admin console

It would be useful to send a wake up packet to a client machine from the admin console to allow remote access if the machine has been turned off. This could be a check box option on the remote control screen. For example: "Send wake up if client is off"

  17. Allow scripts created in \Software Library\Scripts node to be ran in a task sequence

The scripts that are created and approved in \Software Library\Scripts allow them to be used during a task sequence that way you do not need to create a package to contain the script file and download. That way you can avoid using the run command line step if the script is long.

  19. Run executable package content (posh script or exe) from RAMdisc

I need an ability to run executable content, especially posh scripts, in winpe from RAMdisk. I mean, then there is no initialised or partitioned disks in the system.
