  1. PowerShell cmdlets need to be cleaned up

I use a LOT of PowerShell ... and the PowerShell modules in SCCM are ... well... bad.

Issue 1: I should not have to set my running location to a site to run a cmdlet. No one uses a set-location to make sure they are in the AD domain root before running a get-ADUser (unless they have a multi-domain environment and need to call something specifically), yet SCCM requires this to be true. It makes scripting needlessly complex.

Issue 2: there are a pointlessly large number of cmdlets. Do I really need a Get-CMDeviceCollection and a separate Get-CMUserCollection? Why can'tā€¦

  2. Add Client Cache configuration node to Client Settings object

As of right now, Client Settings are configurable during the installation of the client via command-line or via the client-side interface. I believe it would be beneficial to allow this setting to be configured via Client Settings as one organization could have a variety of different use-cases for creating disparate client cache baselines.

  4. Improve App-V deployments to non-persistent VDI's.

Improve App-V deployments to non-persistent VDI's. Currently if you App-V applications to users in non-persistent VDI environments, there is a long delay after the user logs on before the applications install.

If this could be changed so that applications are published significantly faster after a user logs in that would enable the use of SCCM to deploy applications to non-persistent environments. Currently this process is far too slow as users have to wait too long to get their applications.

This was meant to be addressed in SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 however I logged a call with Microsoft and they saidā€¦

  5. Non-cloud support continue

Please don't forget about those of us who work in an environment where we can't connect to the Internet. I've been very concerned by Microsoft's cloud-first effort turning into cloud-ONLY effort.

  6. Support installation of packages/apps via dynamic variables in Standalone Media

At the moment standalone media deployments only work when the content is referenced directly by the task sequence. There are some actions like installing apps/packages using dynamic variables which do not work.

The pre-staged media wizard was changed with SCCM 2012 SP1 so that you can add additional pre-staged content. I would like to see a similar approach where you can add additional content to standalone media and then this is checked first when the dynamic install action runs. There is already a process for adding the variables to the media, the only part that is missing is the abilityā€¦

  7. Teach the Admin Console how to sort numbers

When sorting by Compliance % for some reason the sort is done as a string sort so 80% is a bigger number than 100%.

  8. Bundle MDOP into SCCM already

We already get App-V for free for use with RDS, just lets just go value add with this for SCCM. It would make sooooo many people so happy.

Why can't I use the DaRT unless I have MDOP? Again: the amount of pain it saves in the mass deployment world makes it an awesome add-on.

I can see why MDOP would be a separate purchase for people who are trying to get away with just MDT ... but for those who paid for SystemCenter and are thus paying for an annual subscription ... these are all things the base SCCMā€¦

  11. Provide usable workaround for multiple UUIDs

Currently if we add a new machine to sccm, and the OEM was lazy and reused a UUID builds won't start, and there seems to be no easy way aside from standalone build media to get around this.
since we have to provide a uuid and mac address when we create new machines, why is it not smart enough to use the mac with the generic uuid to identify the correct machine?

  12. Set-CMAutoDeploymentRuleDeployment to include missing AllowWUMU and AllowUseMeteredNetwork

Although you can now add multiple deployments to a single Automatic Deployment Rule there a couple of options that can be read but not set. These are:

"If software updates are not available on the distribution point in current, neighbor or site boundary groups, download content from Microsoft Updates."
    and
"All clients on a metered internet connection to download content after the installation deadline, which might incur additional costs"

I can successfully retrieve all Deployments associated with an Automatic Deployment Rule via the Get-CMAutoDeploymentRuleDeployment cmdlet and see the current settings for these properties by parsing the DeploymentTemplate XML.

  13. Bring Desktop Analytics to Configuration Manager

Bring the full new Desktop Analytics to SCCM, at ignite it was presented and you can have it only trough the fast track channel, when we can have the full experience in SCCM that your be great also for the co-managed devices and maybe with a connector to Intune to have the Intune SA clients also in SCCM for an overview.

  14. android (disable webbrowser)

disable the web browser is possible in intune stand alone but it is not supported in hybrid. it should be supported. the gap between intune stand alone and hybrid for android management is too wide and should be closed

    completed  ·  Tyler Castaldo responded

This setting was added in Configuration Manager current branch 1610, along with about 20 other Android settings we added in order to close the gap (or at least get really close).

  15. Windows 10 documentation refers to wrong ConfigMgr version

Not sure if ConfigMgr docteam can correct this, but Windows 10 documentation tells that:
    - ConfigMgr 2012 R2 is the tool to manage Windows 10 devices --> should be ConfigMgr 1511+
    - Point to Technical Preview documentation --> should point to ConfigMgr 1511+ docs
