  2. Custom Discovery

Ability to create a custom system discovery. EG for a 2nd domain to speed up discoveries for objects in that area as opposed to running a full scan every time to scan for all systems. Delta updates don't seem up to the job every time and we force it with a full scan which can take a while.

  4. Add a description column in the "Scripts" node in the Software Library

It would be nice to have a "Description" column in the Scripts node in the Software Library. I have multiple scripts in my library and keeping track of them gets tedious without having a readily available description of each script.

  5. Do not create folders and collections trough desktop analytics

Desktop Analytics create some folders and Device Collections (Deployment Plans, Pilot, Production, ...).

I don't need it, I like to delete or at least to move this folders, do not re-create this folders and collections daily.

  6. Drill Down On Graphs

when in desktop analytics it would be good if you could click on the orange or red parts of the graph and drill down to see the clients that need attention and updated with latest updates etc.

  7. Move all the dashboards currently residing in the Software Library into the Monitoring workspace

As stated, it would make sense for the dashboards for Win 10 Servicing, Office 365 and DA to be locate in the monitoring workspace where we monitor things in CM.

  8. Add "Software Updates Scan Cycle" to the Client Notification Menu

I'm not sure whether the "Evaluate Software Update Deployments" Client Notificaction runs a previous scan cycle.
I implemented a Powershell script to do that but I strongly think that it should appear as a Client Notification in the same way it appears in the "Config Manager" Control Panel at the client computers.

  9. Wired network authentication profiles

For networks that require port-based 802.1x authentication, group policy wired network profiles is the recommended way to manage the authentication settings for LAN interfaces. It would be really useful if ConfigMgr could manage and apply the wired network profiles. Managing the settings from ConfigMgr would allow us to take more steps away from using Group Policy to manage device settings.

  10. An option to configure a DP such that it only downloads the distributed content from the site when the first client requests for it.

An option to configure a DP such that it only downloads the distributed content from the site when the first client requests for it. This will help manage DP disk space efficiently as most of the content never gets used at a remote site but we do not know what's really needed in advance. With semi annual channels the content problem is getting worse each day.

Below is the config manager thread I had opened and an expert asked me to submit a request here.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c249e600-b781-43ee-9aae-0b0efb6ba078/question-about-sccm-content-distribution?forum=ConfigMgrCBGeneral

  13. Set-CMAutoDeploymentRuleDeployment to include missing AllowWUMU and AllowUseMeteredNetwork

Although you can now add multiple deployments to a single Automatic Deployment Rule there a couple of options that can be read but not set. These are:

"If software updates are not available on the distribution point in current, neighbor or site boundary groups, download content from Microsoft Updates."
    and
"All clients on a metered internet connection to download content after the installation deadline, which might incur additional costs"

I can successfully retrieve all Deployments associated with an Automatic Deployment Rule via the Get-CMAutoDeploymentRuleDeployment cmdlet and see the current settings for these properties by parsing the DeploymentTemplate XML.

  14. Merge two resources with the same MAC Address

If I import a new computer using its MAC Address but later I install manually the client in the actual computer, two resources with the same name end up in the SCCM Database.
An option to make the default action merging both resources or just associating the client DDR to the manual import.

  15. Be able to trigger a CMPivot query from a SSRS and have the results show both Current and history values.

Be able to trigger a CMPivot query from a SSRS and have the results show both Current and history values.

This would leverage the refresh option within SSRS to update the results.

  16. Add Schedule column to v_servicewindow

With the SQL view vSMSServiceWindow, there are a column Schedules. This column allows you to see exactly what day Maintenance Window is scheduled for. The correspond supported SQL view is vServiceWindow. However, that column isn’t listed without it being listed there is no way to determine what day an MW applies too.

    Select distinct

    isnull(SWin.Name,'No Maintenance Windows') as 'SWinName',

    isnull(SWin.IsGMT,'') as 'SWinIsGMT',
    SWin.StartTime as 'SWinStartTime',
    isnull(SWin.Duration,0) as 'SWinDuration',
    case
    when isnull(SWin.ServiceWindowType, 0) = 0 then 'No Maintenance Windows'
when SWin.ServiceWindowType=1 then 'All Programs Service Window'
when SWin.ServiceWindowType=2 then 'Program Service Window'
when SWin.ServiceWindowType=3 then 'Reboot Required Service Window'
    …

  17. Ability to move Distribution point from one secondary site server to another secondary site server' has been merged into this idea

when we need to remove secondary site server or when need to rebuild secondary site server with another site code. A full uninstall and re install required for all Distribution points associated with that secondary site.
Also when we need to move a DP from one site code to another site code, it requires uninstall / re install….to avoid this it will be helpful to have ability to move DP’s between secondaries.

  18. Improve app model logging

Make it easier to troubleshoot application deployment with:
    - Consolidated log file
    - Make logging easier to understand and find the reason for failures.
For a new SCCM Admin/Tech troubleshooting appdeployment is hard, have to understand the different log files and know which one to read.

  19. Add WSUS Catalog #s to a Supported SQL View.

With the SQL view vSMSSUPSyncStatus, there is a column SyncCatalogVersion. This column allows you to see what version of the WSUS (pronounced “W” “SUS”) catalog is available at each software update point (SUP). When troubleshooting CMCB environment with two or more SUP it is import to know what catalog is at each SUP server. The vSMSSUPSyncStatus has many more details available to it as compared to any of the existing SUP SQL views.
So why is this information important? Knowing Catalog version #, sync date, sync status, etc. helps when troubleshooting SUP issues. This also allows for a…

  20. Grant Select to smsschm_users on all SQL Synonym

When CMCB or even CM12 creates an Inventory class, it also creates a SQL Synonym too. These SQL Synonyms, are basically the same as the SQL Views, with one key difference, they don’t have the permission set to allow for smsschm_users “select” access on them. This means that low rights users will receive an error when uses.

So what is this important? This is a great question, and the reason is that the behavior when importing sms_def.mof changes between CM07, CM12, and CMCB. The SQL Synonyms is named exactly what is created in older versions of CM. So When creating…
